many have invented their own covenant conditions, and accept Jesus if He qualifies and fits their religious structure....If HE complies with their covenant, and their lusts of the flesh, then He is welcome to have a so-called personal relationship with them, thus HE is approved of and accepted by them:confused:.(the not of works accept Jesus crowd)...........However, salvation is about God's covenant, and HIS conditions, not mans', and it's HIM that accepts us, if our hearts are pure and free from guile.....be blessed

I forgot to explain why that video. When I was first born again, my Spiritual MILK was Prophecy being explained and taught by Dr. John MacArthur via radio. So I here is a recent video by Dr. John MacArthur, about the future of ISRAEL, so ENJOY a long cold drink of Spiritual MILK.
"MacCarther" ?.........The man is a 5 point Calvinist, and Platonist, He believes man is totally reprobate and depraved, having no ability to seek God and come clean with HIM:confused: and that others have been condemned to hell from Plato's eons past because He decreed it........The man is a merchandiser and deceiver......be blessed

Jesus will keep making payments, paying the debt for sin, as long as the person keeps believing Jesus is making the payments?
Almost. The difference is there is a single payment for sin on the altar in heaven that never stops doing what it was given to do. This ministry of High Priest Christ and his Sacrifice is effective because it's always there making intercession for you in real time:

"23The former priests, on the one hand, existed in greater numbers because they were prevented by death from continuing, 24but Jesus, on the other hand, because He continues forever, holds His priesthood permanently. 25Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them." (Hebrews 7:25 NASB)

We see from this passage that the ministry of Jesus must continue in order for it to do what it does. This is contrast to the old covenant ministry of priest and sacrifice that had to be repeated over and over because it ended when 1) you sinned again, 2) the High Priest died, or 3) the sacrifice was consumed. But these things do not bring Christ's ministry to a halt. So Christ is not the reason his ministry would cease to intercede on behalf of the believer. Unbelief is the reason Christ's ministry will cease continuing to be applied, as required (see above) to the (ex)believer, because that's how the effectiveness of Christ's ministry is secured by a person--through faith.

If/when your trust in the 'one-time for all time' sacrifice ends, that is when the application of Christ's ministry for you ends. It's not a failure on Christ's part, or a failure in the promise of God. It's a failure of the person to continue to secure that which can and will accomplish perfectly that which it is promised to do. Christ's sacrifice stops interceding for (ex)believers who have chosen to reject Christ. It only continues to intercede, as it must (see above), for those who continue to trust in that sacrifice to intercede for them.

MacArthur is as solid as they come in regards to soteriology. I don't agree with his eschatology, but his soteriology is spot on. Man is totally depraved, and does not have the ability, or even the desire to seek God. Romans 3 plainly states none seek God.

Man sees man like this...

God sees man like this...

1Co 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Charity, love in action,is the greatest asset we can have.

Charity is greater than faith, for faith means nothing without charity.

1Co 13:5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
1Co 13:6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth.

2Ti 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

1Co 15:34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

Heb 3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
Heb 3:13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

Gal 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Gal 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
Gal 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Charity does not think an evil thought, and does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth.

Those that hold unto sin rejoice in iniquity, and not the truth, lack love,so they lack faith.

Charity is greater than faith, for faith means nothing without charity.

1Co 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
1Co 13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
1Co 13:3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

1Ti 6:5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
1Ti 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
1Ti 6:7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
1Ti 6:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
1Ti 6:9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
1Ti 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Paul said without charity,we are nothing, and we err from the faith.

Jas 2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
Jas 2:15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
Jas 2:16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
Jas 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
Jas 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

James said if we do not have charity, our faith is dead.

1Jn 3:17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
1Jn 3:18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

John said if we do not have charity, the love of God does not dwell in us.

Charity is greater than faith.

Mat 22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.
Mat 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Mat 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Joh 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
Joh 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
Joh 14:24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.

Mat 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Rom 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

Rom 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

We go by the 2 greatest commandments, love God,which He hates sin,and to love God we abstain from sin by the Spirit, for love does not think an evil thought, and does not do an evil deed.

We love people, which we go by charity, love in action, and love will feed and clothe the poor and needy, and help people with their needs,if it is possible.

Act 2:44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
Act 2:45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

Act 4:32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
Act 4:34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,
Act 4:35 And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.

God only blesses us with our needs, not our wants, and to help other people with their needs whenever possible.

Without love there is no faith.

Jas 2:21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
Jas 2:22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
Jas 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

Abraham did the work of God,love God,for a person is justified by works, and not faith only, because love is greater than faith.

Jas 2:25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
Jas 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Rahab gave safe passage to the 2 Jewish men, love people, for a person is justified by works, and not faith alone, because love is greater than faith.

Rev 2:4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
Rev 2:5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

Jesus said they left their first love, the love of people, and they were fallen, and to repent,or there is no salvation.

Charity is greater then faith, and charity does not think an evil thought, and does not sin,and helps the poor and needy, and not go by their wants, and does not engage in worldliness spending money on things that are not a need, and neglecting the poor.

For there are millions of people that hold unto sin,and say they cannot abstain from sin,and sin does not affect their relationship with God,and cater to their wants, believing the prosperity Gospel, and neglecting the poor, and think they are alright, but that is not love.

Charity is greater than faith, and lack in love means faith is dead.

Gal 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

Charity is greater than love, and some people say faith alone, but it is love in action that saves us,for without charity, which does not sin,and helps the poor and needy, there is no faith.

That is what James is saying,if you do not have charity, your faith is dead.

Faith works through love, which means love comes first before faith can apply in a person's life.

No love,no faith.

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.

We are saved by grace through faith, which means without faith there is no love.

If we lack in charity, our faith is dead, and we have no grace, and we have no salvation.

Charity is greater than faith, and so many people that believe OSAS,and not saved by works, hold unto sin,and cater to their wants, and worldliness, and think they are alright, but that is a lack of love, which means their faith is dead.

Love does not think an evil thought, and does not sin,and does not go by wants, but their needs, and to help other people with their needs,at all times.

Lack of love,faith is dead.

Charity is greater than love.

Mat 5:43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
Mat 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Mat 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
Mat 5:46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
Mat 5:47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
Mat 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Rom 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

1Th 3:12 And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:
1Th 3:13 To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

Heb 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.

We cannot hate even one person,or we lack love, then no faith.

Love is not arrogant, not selfish, does not think an evil thought, and does not sin,and helps the poor and needy.

But there are millions of people that say not saved by works that lack love by their lifestyle, and neglect of the poor and needy, and think they are alright.

Charity is greater than faith.

It is not faith alone,it is charity, love in action, which many neglect, taking vacations, cruises, spending money on their wants, material things, worldliness, and hold unto sin,and then say, faith alone, and sin does not affect our relationship with God,but that is a lack of love, then faith is dead.

Jesus said whatever is in your heart is what comes out,so if they think sin,and do sin, then that is what is in their heart,so how does sin not affect their relationship with God,which God is not mocked, sow to the flesh, reap the reward of the flesh, for our actions, and thoughts,is what defines us,not we are clean even though we think sin,and do sin,and cater to our wants.

Look at the people in society that believe OSAS,and not saved by works, and see the worldliness about them, and then they say it is faith alone, but it is a lack of love, and charity, love in action,is greater than faith.

Faith means nothing without obeying God,and helping others with their needs, for to obey is greater than sacrifice, and bring every thought to the obedience of Christ, which Jesus said, the 2 greatest commandments is love God,and love people, neglect that, and there is no faith.
Your post is full of hate and prejudice Jesus came to give us hope, there is no hope in your post.

You're working yourself to heaven is like Peter on the water after he took his eyes off of the Christ..

How'd that turn out?

But once he realized this, he called out to Jesus who lifted him up...

So, are you resting in yourself, which is no rest at all?

Or are you resting in the Christ, which is our rest, our Sabbath?

And to you who are troubled rest with us,[2 Thessalonians 1:7a]

Man thinks that its he who controls his own destiny by either remaining faithful and believing the Christ, or voiding the faith and returning to the darkness. In this they...

They think that by believing, its they who get to heaven by themselves. They don't need God to help them believe, they can do it themselves. They labor abundantly yet get nowhere...

They think its their workings that gets them where they need to go, when in reality it's...

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.[2 Corinthians 3:18]

Your ship is being tossed to and fro, you're not for sure if you've done enough to merit heaven, if your works are plentiful enough to hear ‘Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.’[Matthew 25:23]

Your ship has started sinking as your faith is weak...

But be of good cheer. We have One who saves us continually and will make sure our ship makes it safely to the harbor regardless how hazardous the ocean is...

And He will guide us safely home...

While I was with them, I was keeping them in Your name which You have given Me; and I guarded them and not one of them perished but the son of perdition, so that the Scripture would be fulfilled.[John 17:12]

Faith that worketh by love indeed.

many have invented their own covenant conditions, and accept Jesus if He qualifies and fits their religious structure....If HE complies with their covenant, and their lusts of the flesh, then He is welcome to have a so-called personal relationship with them, thus HE is approved of and accepted by them:confused:.(the not of works accept Jesus crowd)...........However, salvation is about God's covenant, and HIS conditions, not mans', and it's HIM that accepts us, if our hearts are pure and free from guile.....be blessed

I have heard people say their god would not do this or that.. as to judge by their own evil self...

Some even say I would not believe in a GOD that could not This or that...

We look for the Righteousness of GOD through His Son.

The Almighty is not looking for approval and instruction.. He runs the ship and you can get on board but it is His way or the Highway... it is is for your own safety He runs His Ship this way so Love and abide with joy.

Love Trust and Obey the Almighty GOD through His New Covenant. The Just shall live by Faith in His Son.

So what we hear we are to set our heart to do...

If the love of GOD shown to us through the cross does not move us to want to be perfect and good out of gratitude then what else will?

A willing heart need apply.

Here is a verse to write at the top of your Journal:

Philippians 1:6 (HCSB)
[SUP]6 [/SUP] I am sure of this, that He who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ
Jesus
.

John 14:16-18 (HCSB)
[SUP]16 [/SUP] And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor {the HOLY SPIRIT} to be with you forever.
[SUP]17 [/SUP] He is the Spirit of truth. The world is unable to receive Him because it doesn’t see Him or know Him. But you do know Him, because He remains with you and will be in you.
[SUP]18 [/SUP] I will not leave you as orphans; I am coming to you.

Deuteronomy 31:6 (HCSB)
[SUP]6 [/SUP] Be strong and courageous; don’t be terrified or afraid of them. For it is the LORD your God who goes with you; He will not leave you or forsake you.”

Hebrews 13:5-6 (HCSB)
[SUP]5 [/SUP] Your life should be free from the love of money. Be satisfied with what you have, for He Himself has said, I will never leave you or forsake you.
[SUP]6 [/SUP] Therefore, we may boldly say: The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?

Matthew 28:18-20 (CSBBible)
[SUP]18 [/SUP] Jesus came near and said to them, "All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.
[SUP]19 [/SUP] Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
[SUP]20 [/SUP] teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

1 John 4:4 (NKJV)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

I like to encourage New Believers to Read through the GOSPEL OF JOHN first, because John's Gospel focuses on the fact that Jesus is God in the flesh.

Then I like to have them read 1 John, because it focuses on what our Christian lifestyle should be like. Some find 1 John hard to understand because of the Fourth Primary Verb Tense (in the Greek) that John just Loved to use. It is the Perfect Tense, where English only has THREE Primary Verb Tenses, {past tense, present tense, and future tense}. That Greek Perfect Tense does not imply perfection, but rather an ongoing lifestyle of striving to do that verb. Most of the verbs in 1 John are in that Perfect ongoing lifestyle verb tense.

For Example: 1 John 1:9 (HCSB)
[SUP]9 [/SUP] If we confess {ongoing lifestyle of confessing each new sin} our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 2:3-5 (HCSB)
[SUP]3 [/SUP] This is how we are sure that we have come to know Him: by keeping {ongoing lifestyle of striving to keep} His commands.
[SUP]4 [/SUP] The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” yet doesn't keep {ongoing lifestyle of striving to keep} His commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
[SUP]5 [/SUP] But whoever keeps {ongoing lifestyle of striving to keep} His word, truly in him the love of God is perfected. This is how we know we are in Him:

John 14:15 (HCSB)
[SUP]15 [/SUP] “If you love Me, you will keep {ongoing lifestyle of striving to keep} My commands.

And when we fail, we go back to 1 John 1:9 and confess it as sin and immediately get back to continually striving to Keep His Commands, BECAUSE WE LOVE HIM!
Thank you so much VCO...I will read next John, then 1 John...I have just read Ephesians, will re-read that again and thank you once again for your post, very encouraging to be reminded that God is with me always, even if I do not understand, He will show me...xox...

You are welcome Rosemaryx, it is good that you are reading your bible and how you do that is personal. I use to read a little bit from here and a little bit from there because I could not understand a lot of what was being said. Later you will be amazed how the word of God becomes so much apart of your life, even though it already has. When I was younger I was always confused in my life because of all the lying and cheating and two faced friends that I was hanging around with. I was thinking is this what life is all about, it left me sad, unhappy and wanting something more.

Our God given faith is more precious than gold, man did not give it to you and nobody can take it away.

God bless
AMEN...:)...Its only looking back from 22 months when I opened my bible and knew nothing, I always believed in God, but knew nothing of Jesus:rolleyes: and had no knowledge of what He had done for me on the cross...I remember after God called me I sat and said " God, I know nothing about Your Son, but my heart aches to know Him, I am willing to learn ", and He has taught me up to this day, so I can now say I love our Lord with all my heart, soul, mind and body, and I only know Him because I have the Holy Spirit who is teaching me these things...That`s a great comfort to me knowing that if I never had the Holy Spirit, I would not be able to say Jesus is Lord, I am hidden in Christ:)...\o/...xox...

Grow in Grace
by: Charles Spurgeon

"Grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." 2 Peter 3:18May

God the Holy Spirit enable you to "grow in the
knowledge of our Lord and Savior." He who does not grow in the knowledge of Jesus, refuses to be blessed. To know Him is "life eternal," and to advance in the knowledge of Him is to increase in happiness. He who does not long to know more of Christ; knows nothing of Him yet. Whoever has sipped this wine; will thirst for more; for although Christ does satisfy; yet it is such a satisfaction, that the appetite is not glutted—but whetted.

If you know the love of Jesus; as the deer pants for the water-brooks, so will you pant after deeper draughts of His love. If you do not desire to know Him better; then you love Him not, for love always cries, "Nearer, nearer!" Absence from Christ is hell; but the presence of Jesus is heaven.
Do not then, rest content without an ever increasing acquaintance with Jesus. Seek to know more of Him in His divine nature, in His human relationship, in His finished work, in His death, in His resurrection, in His present glorious intercession, and in His future royal advent. Abide close by the Cross, and search the mystery of His wounds. An increase of love to Jesus, and a more perfect apprehension of His love to us is one of the best tests of growth in grace.

Amen...I love this post :)...xox...

I too thought WHO I AM IN CHRIST poster was the best thing I ever saw on the subject. So I too saved it to my PC. Thank again BillG. And may God Bless you Rosemaryx, you are a breath of fresh air. :D

Here is something to encourage. When I first was born again, I discovered Dr. John MacArthur's radio program called "Grace To You". I heard him use this expression several times. "A Christian is not sinless, but as he or she matures spiritually. they will sin less, and less, and less."

Got an old Christian joke that explains the same principal.

Little Johnny was pulling the little girl's hair, who sat in front of him;
when his Teacher caught him.

She knew Little Johnny was Christian, so the Teacher scolded him,
"Johnny, that is not very Christ-like of you!"

Little Johnny said, "I know, but GOD is not finished with me yet."

haha a lot is said in that little joke, it`s true, it fits things together:)...It`s so true once we are walking in the Holy Spirit, we do sin less and less...My old haunts are not enticing me no more,I walk past the pubs I once drank in and see the darkness I never saw before, it keeps me on my toes to walk on by...The people I once sat with and listened to their gossip has stopped, I no more want to be part of that, in fact it is only looking back that I see how much the Holy Spirit is removing from my life...At first I became quiet lonely, had no interest in the worldly things, I took it that I was becoming depressed again as before I walked with the Lord I was under the mental health act for nearly 30 yrs, the evil one was bringing me down because I did not know who I am in Christ, but it was God who was keeping me still for a year, He was changing me, preparing me for whats ahead, I do not feel lonely no more, I have more brothers and sisters in Christ that I could ever dream off, wow, I love you all...xox...

You negate every thing you said by the bolded, and in so doing prove that you are missing the mark. FAITH comes before loving God and or each other which is a process of Growth and maturity. The process of growth and maturity when it comes to loving God which allows us to love our neighbors CANNOT begin and or PROGRESS without having faith first.....as usual....you place the cart 100 feet in front of the ox by your working for gospel of adherence........

Why do people think that doing the works of the Spirit is a burden, and not required, for what other works are they talking about besides doing works of the Spirit that would cause them to be right with God.
The bible....

Therefore we conclude a man is justified by faith without the works of the law.

David speaks concerning the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness without the deeds of the law.

It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

The just shall live by faith (not works)

One of these days you will figure out that faith and faith alone is what pleases God....any work, act, deed, fruit is the result of JESUS in us by faith.....just think for a moment....EVEN NATURE teaches this...it is the ROOT and external circumstance such as RAIN and SUNSHINE sent BY GOD which produces fruit.....the vine does not produce of itself.....

FAITH and BIBLICAL salvation places one into the VINE and JESUS produces through us.....and the produce DOES not put us in the vine or keep us in the vine...HE SAVES to the uttermost and we are KEPT by the power of GOD!
