Many believe they are protesting heresy based on doctrines of men by doctrines of men and the misuse of Scripture continues to this day..

The Messiah said to build ourselves on His Word for a very good reason.

Yes, Messiah said build ourself on HIS WORD, not on OUR WORKS.

So why are you supporting people who build themselves on their works. And calling them brother?

The thread started off with a verse... but the verse is well placed in a chapter that teaches where works are to be maintained by those that believe GOD.

We are saved and born again unto good works and taught to love and provoke each other as we see the day approaching.. Yet the self righteous and cake taking... vanilla coffee.. comments are thrown .. yet the Truth shines brighter.

Not to lay any charges for all is forgiven and love overcomes..

And when you consider that name calling is nothing compared to what believers have endured... but I pray that we remain Faithful and strengthened by GOD through our Lord to share when True persecution comes our way.

For now let us putt the full armour of GOD and Hold Fast.

Good luck with that...I am still waiting on an answer to the following....

Tell me...how does the following verse apply to you under the New Covenant?

And he charged him to tell no man: but go, and shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them

So you believe your works keep you saved.....?

There you have it....faith plus works.....Galatians 1 and 3<----I suggest an honest evaluation of these two chapters...

No you did not....try again.....still waiting on you to apply the verse under the New Covenant unto yourself.

Tell me...how does the following verse apply to you under the New Covenant?

And he charged him to tell no man: but go, and shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them

Luke 5

12
And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. 13And he put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will: be thou clean. And immediately the leprosy departed from him. 14And he charged him to tell no man: but go, and shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them. 15But so much the more went there a fame abroad of him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities. 16And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed.

You want me to apply this to myself? To prove that I should Believe the Testimony of the Messiah? You do realise that under the law the lady should of been stoned to death? But the Messiah came to Teach us all things and give His Testament for us to believe and live by Faith therein.

and you try to misuse it, shame on you. Believe not but you won't stop me Believing His Testimony.

No, this verse does not say this at all.

It says we are saved UNTO good works. It does not say good works must be maintained to be saved. It says we were (past tense) saved by grace through faith. And this salvation WILL produce good works (not might)

You keep yelling when people say you preach works. Yet here again you are preaching works.

Yes you should

You should realise the man was cleaned completely of his disease. Not part way. Not in danger of getting it again, but cleansed completely.

Because he was cleansed completely, and out of faith and gratitude, He did what God commanded, AS ALL HIS CHILDREN DO.

When will you believe this, and stop saying the man was made well because he worked?

You're the one that said ALL the words of JESUS apply when I said they must be understood in light of the fact that he was born, lived and died under the LAW which ratified the NEW Covenant....no...shame on you for your twist and deceit....now...prove your stance and back your view by applying the verse to yourself or admit that HIS WORD was indicative of exactly what I said.....AND for the record....there were at least 2 reasons WHY it was wrong to stone the woman taken in adultery....go see if you can figure both out!

Your works WILL NOT save you, nor keep you saved.

Not the car you fixed for your neighbor who couldn't afford to pay a mechanic.

Not the $5 you gave a homeless person.

Not the lawn you mowed for the little old lady next door.

Not the lunch you shared with a co-worker who forgot theirs.

NONE of these things will save you, nor keep you saved. We aren't to do works anyway, not for the express purpose of maintaining our salvation..

So when you boast your works to Jesus, He's gonna say "that doesn't impress Me. Nor was it contingent upon your salvation"..

AMEN BLUE......NOT of ourselves lest any man should boast.......It amazes me....how many think that salvation is maintained by what they do or do not do....refusing to simply acknowledge that

a. JESUS begins, finishes and completes the work of faith he began in us
b. Jesus KEEPS US SAVED by HS POWER
c. JESUS saves to the UTTERMOST
d. JESUS will LOSE NOTHING, but rather raise it up the LAST DAY.....

TO say one must keep themselves saved, or work for it or maintain it or can lose it flat denies the simple truths of a-d...not to mention the other 30 to 50 we can add to the list..........

Well you could sit all day playing that card... without the Holy Spirit guiding and comforting in to all Truth I guess it seems fruitful.

I recently made this statement....

The words of JESUS must be understood in light of the fact that he was born, lived and died under the law which ratified the NEW Covenant.

JESUS said he had much to teach the disciples, but they were not yet ready to bear it...HENCE the words of PAUL.

I was told I was wrong and in error...yet when I ask the following question about the words of JESUS to show that many things he said are not applicable unto those under the NEW Covenant, but were applicable unto those who were still under the law until the New was ratified I am maligned and told I am wrong....

SOMEONE please explain how the following apply unto one under the New Covenant....

Tell me...how does the following verse apply to one under the New Covenant?

And he charged him to tell no man: but go, and shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them

The man worked? Did I say this? And your words say that out of Faith and Gratitude he did what GOD commanded as all His Children do..

Quite sure the cake takers are grateful and have Faith that worketh by love... and you have just described them beautifully.

It is part of the Gospel which is the New Testament.. which is coming to pass in that day.. for us to have His Testimony to hand in ours. I believe the verse you offer as I do all of His Testament and I am not the leper who is being healed under the law of Moses.. the Messiah was superseding the Old while bringing us the New... it was part of His Ministry.

And you demand of backing up or found to be false is your ego and not of GOD.

No thank you, I left the Roman church:)
Good Morning UnderGrace, I'm thinking that you would have had first hand knowledge of a Grace plus works faith in Jesus. And the first thing I need to say is Praise God because He opened your eyes and heart to a false religion respectfully. I say this because my wife's faith was Buddhism when I first met her and I saw the transformation in her life as the Holy Spirit was drawing her near to Christ and now she is a new creation in Christ.

Like the Apostle Paul said to the Galatian's it is foolish to think you can be perfected by your own self effort. Maybe it would be of benefit to the Grace plus works people here, that once you are freed from law and enter into God's Grace there is a wonderful peace knowing you are set free from sin and works. Watching the transformation from anybody who leaves a false merit based religion is truly amazing. Praise God for believer's such as you and my wife.

"Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh?" Galatians3:3

Hence the Words of Paul? The Messiah appears:

Luke 24

44And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. 45Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, 46And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: 47And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48And ye are witnesses of these things. 49And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
