Don't Calvinists believe that a man cannot choose to believe and be saved? If that is correct, please explain how "no Calvinist believes" people do not have the ability to choose.
If that is not correct, please explain what Calvinists believe.
Anyone can choose to believe, and once he believes, he is in Christ.

"which were" in v13 should be "who was" and it refers back to "his name" in v12. Jesus Christ was born, not of bloods (it's plural in the Greek), nor of the will of flesh or man, but of God. IOW God sent Jesus Christ into the world by HIS will and not man's will.
God's will is for all men to be saved (1 Tim 2:4; 2 Pet 3:9). It is up to each person to decide to believe, or not.
That is not true. Once a person hears the gospel, it is his responsibility and choice to decide to believe it or not.
God causes us to be born again when we choose to believe the gospel.
I claim that once the gospel is preached, anyone who hears it can choose to believe it, or not.

It is absolutely by choice. We are ambassadors for Jesus Christ. We are fellowlaborers together with God and Jesus Christ. We are to preach the gospel so people have the opportunity to hear it. It's their decision to decide to believe it, or not.
I believe it's all men everywhere. I believe the verse means what it says, that God wants all men to be saved. People who have died no longer have the opportunity to believe.

9) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Do Calvinists believe some of the elect will perish? I didn't think they did...

I have nothing against you personally, p4t, but I believe Calvinism is an unbiblical doctrine, and it does not reflect the heart of God at all. It makes God unlovable, unloving, and untrustworthy. It removes personal responsibility from people.
God is love, and He created people to love Him, and fellowship with Him. If people cannot freely choose to love God, it's not love.

There is a question, who is true and who is false?
If you have found Christ it does not matter because He is the ultimate reference
point.
Those who abuse only do so because they think there is value in it. But real value
is in demonstrating the principles of the eternal Kingdom, to bring light to this dark
world, and my friends it is very dark doomed to destruction.
Just talk to people about how they are inside and you will meet this darkness.
When you see only each one knows truth looking out, we cannot see looking in, you
will see we are called to witness and love not judge.
If each day you can rise and praise God amen brother and sister.

my husband was drafted in '68, and would have gone, though it interrupted college. he's athletic, and he was a runner then (10 miles a day, minimum) and has a naturally slow heartbeat, so when it came to the physical, he failed with a pulse of 50. after 37 years, if i'm laying with my head on his chest as he sleeps, i sometimes find i'm holding my breath waiting for that next heartbeat!

People who hold to a belief of Grace plus works to keep you saved, like Phart, and use the false acronym, OSAS, are not shinning the light of the true gospel. They are using their human wisdom to try and formulate a gospel that fits into there small theological belief's. Its like this; If Noah said to Phart come inside the Ark and God will save you, Phart would say okay but what do I have to do once I'm in the Ark to keep me saved, foolish human thinking.
This idea is not enlightening and only leads to despair and fearful thoughts that you will lose you eternal salvation. Phart's gospel is not standing on a firm foundation which is Christ Jesus. He is laying a different foundation called, pride/works. Surrendering your whole life to God and then trusting and obeying Him, because we love our Heavenly Father, true gospel.

For your information my wife and I were Missionary assistant's in Thailand until I received my cancer diagnosis. The comment which I regretfully made on this thread came from my frustration at a poster here. After realizing that I had lied to the man and the nice people on this forum, I confessed my sin and I believe'd that I was forgiven by God and by the folks here today, what you think does not matter.
You Mr Mystery Man are bearing false witness, I went to the cross of Jesus and pleaded forgiveness from God and the nice folks on this forum graciously forgave and welcomed me back. The only thing I need from you now is to stay as far away from me as the east is from the west. It is obvious you are not welcome here and you have many anger issues with people. I pray to God you get the help you need. I pray that not one child of God ever has to encounter your bitter false accusations again.

Thank's Decon and I to am sorry for the loss of your uncle, I'm sure you keep fond memories of your good times together. People like that banned poster deserve what they get. When I speak to you or E-grateful about our military service it is out of respect an a common connection we have as brother's in Christ and our service. No lying just talking old soldier stuff. And I am over whelmed with the folks on this thread who came to my support, God bless you a 10000 times. Just one more thought about what happened here today. I forgive the man who falsely accused me of too many things, because I have been forgiven much I need to forgive the one who has falsely accused me. Hi notmyown, thank you for your prayers and very kind words. You also rang a bell in my heart about the cost, because I have such a wonderful loving wife and everything I do, I do to live as long as I can so that we can be together. What I can tell you is that my wife and I support each other in our faith and I wake up every morning with a smile on my face put there by our savior Jesus. He is with us all day long. Praise God.
