I'm glad that David Carr came back from his broken leg injury.
I watched some of the Raiders/Titans game and the Raiders did pretty good. Could be a good season if they keep up the protection of Carr.
I watched some of the Denver/Dallas game as well and the Broncos look like they will be pretty tough, too.
AFC West has got to be the toughest division in the league although AFC North looks pretty tough too with Baltimore and Pittsburgh...

Derek Carr Gramps!
I'm a RAIDERS fan, btw. I love the kid Derek Carr and his testimony for Christ. Also, Carson Wentz is a professing believer too. Hopefully more and more believers come into the NFL and supplant the arrogant tools that are too plenteous.

That was his brother I mixed him up with...
I've been a Raider fan for a really long time. We lived in San Leandro for a year, just outside of Oakland when I was a kid. The Raiders went to Super Bowl 15 that year so I think it was about 1980-81.
We moved away shortly after that and thats when Oakland moved to L.A.
Cool! I've been a Raiders fan for a long time too, since back when they almost always won, which continued for decades.
Eh I don't like to watch sports I like to play them. But tbh the only sport I ever truly enjoyed is dodge ball, when I play dodge ball something inside me just clicks and go from this gentle uncertain caring kid to suddenly this imma get ya lion on the hunting field kid-assuming the balls can fit in my hands as i have small hands XD
That's how I am with basketball. I like to play but I find watching it really boring. Until about 2minutes left in the 4th quarter...
But football is different. Every play is different with a different outcome. There is a sort of chess match going on between the opposing coaches as well as between the opposing players. And then there is the pure physical competition going on at the same time.
Will it be a run play? Will it be a pass play? Can the defense stop the run? Once they figure out how to stop the run can they continue to stop the pass as well? Can they use the same personnel on defense to do both? Can the defense stop the pass with 8 in the box? What kind of defense is it? Zone? Man? 4-3, 3-4, dime, nickel? What kind of offense is it? Shotgun? I formation? Are they overloading one side?
I suppose its probably one of the more complicated sports out there. But can be really simple at the same time.

I was a Raider fan in the late 80s when they were in LA. I lived in El Segundo just a few blocks away from their camp. During the preseason I'd often see them running up and down a big sandy hill near Dockweiler Beach. And I'd see them in Stick N' Stein's bar watching Thursday night NFL games sometimes.
My dad managed the Denny's on I-580 across from the stadium in Oakland. That Denny's had a bar and lounge in a separate room and a lot of the old Raiders would be in there, drinking I guess. I was just a kid so not allowed in there.
Everybody treated them like royalty, including my dad, even though they looked like bikers and criminals... They had a certain aura and swagger back then. At least it appeared that way to a 10yr old...

I think the Pats lost that first game on purpose, so they don't have to endure another year of "perfect season?" questions.
And watch out for KC. Yeah, they're good. Their coach is that good, BUT he can't win the Super Bowl.

I'm an Eagles fan. For football I do live on blind faith. lol
But, geesh! You're supposed to do better with the smack.
