Only read the KJV!

So, what version do use? I have a 1980s NIV and KJV, I usually use the NIV. The ESV reads well also. I prefer a word for word over try thought for thought, but I trust most translations and I don't see anything all that different in the versions I compared.
 
NIV mostly. But some passages just sound better in KJV. Psalms 23, for example.
 
ASV is pretty accurate, more so than KJV actually ("digged down a wall" anyone?) :rolleyes: ESV is good when you look at a verse in KJV and go "Huh?" and you look it up in ESV and go, "Oh THAT'S what it means!"

Esword, Mysword for phones, BibleTime for Linux... all these are good for Bible-on-computer. They have replaced my big honking concordance. :D Also it's good to open one verse in multiple Bible versions at once.
 
I have a KJV and NIV Bible, but (don't hate me) I never read them. Still, one day, I'd like to get around to reading the whole Bible. Would take a lot of dedication, though.

I used the KJV exclusively for years. Now I use the NASB, ESV, YLT, NKJV. I see no need to use the KJV and rarely use it. My preference is the ESV.
 
All my Bibles are KJV, but I've got no real issue with any other version. KJV is just familiar to me because it's the version of the Bible I used to read a bit and look at the artwork in when I was a kid.
 
I usually read esv. If I'm studying something I'll use KJV, ASB, ESV, and the older NIV.

As many decades as I have been reading the Bible, in various versions, I still have not read all the "Begats" all the way through. And I doubt I ever will. ☺

Honestly, i only read KJV. It just seems natural to me since i used it for a few weeks. I don't really like the way things are worded in a lot of other versions(i have used many including ASV,NIV,NKJV,AMP,etc.) So i will just stick with KJV.

Yes, I should have mentention the gender neutral rule they used in the 2011 NIV. Instead of using man or men they used them or they, even when the original language was specific.

I had never heard of him before. I wonder if he could adapt that to the KJVOnly debate?

Only read the KJV if you want to raise your intellect up to that of God's Word.
If you prefer to lower His Word to your intellect, by all means, read any other version.
