i wish my next birthday would be my last...

... because otherwise, i will turn 60, and i feel at that point people will have a reasonable expectation of some semblance of adult behavior from me, and you know.... i can't live up to that.
perhaps i'll start lying about my age? say i'm 70 or 80? it seems then, acting like a child is more acceptable.

I had those thoughts when I turned 40. That people would expect me to act more like an adult. I realized after a bad year I should never have turned 40.... That it is just a number and you can be who you are. If you want to act like a kid then do it as it is o.k. to be yourself. We are each unique and there is not another person quite like us so just be you and we don't ever have to act like a grownup if we don't want to.

At 62 I don't plan to start acting my age anytime soon....lol When Tourist & I first met and were flirting with each other we were giving the 30 year olds a run for their money...as they thought we were acting too young... Guess we showed them....lol

You will have the added bonus of people telling you
how absolutely fabulous you look for your age :D

I wish...

I wish I was not allergic to dairy. Not lactose-intolerant, just flat-out allergic, like sniffles, sneezing, coughing, if I take it too far maybe a sinus headache. I wish that didn't happen.

OR

I wish ice cream and cheese was not so delectably irresistible.

OR

I wish artificial cheese and ice cream didn't taste so bleh and terrible and yucky and all kinds of negative flavor words.

If any of the above wishes came true I would be a happy man. Maybe a fatter man, but at least I wouldn't currently be a congested man.

I wish I could figure out what's wrong with my body and why it won't lose any weight...

I, also, wish I had more time with my kids.

I wish they would invent a thing for music stands or microphones. Something that is a small box or small container that hold cough drops, wrappers, pens, etc for when we need them.

Get a plastic pencil case and some double-sided tape and stick the box down to the platform?

I wish my brain would wait until AFTER I assess a situation before it starts panicking and shorting out.

"Oh no, I deleted the wrong file and the church roll is now history!"
PANIC MODE ENGAGED
"Oh yeah, there's always a backup copy on the laptop in the sound booth because it only has one USB port free so I have to dump the files from flash drive before I can pull the flash drive out and stick the printer cable in."
FALSE ALARM - PANIC MODE DISENGAGED

Would have saved me a lot of high blood pressure if my brain had left panic mode until I had ascertained whether there was actually a reason to panic.

Didn't work. The files were on a flash drive, and Linux doesn't do Windows junk of making a trash bin on every flash drive you stick in the computer. But I have a backup at church so it's cool.

If I didn't have a backup, I could just resize the classroom roll sheets to all fit on one page. It would work for one Sunday.

And don't tell me not to panic! I'm not panicked! WHO'S PANICKING?! (pant pant pant pant)

Så, så.... (humming a soft tune)

Du skal se at alt ting ordner seg.

Slapp av (still humming)

Ingen panikk.

Seriously. Sometimes when I am teaching, I come to class with a perfect plan. And it just doesn't work. Everything falls apart. Sometimes I come to class exhausted and just having no motivation at all. I pray. And confess I should have prepared. And it is the best class ever.

And... your brilliant mind is as good a harddisk as any.

Live dangerously and pray the Holy Spirit will lead you through.

Sometimes I wish I could rewind to the good ole days, and press pause... just for a little while... well actually, for as long as possible...

Do we get only one wish or three? :)
If I wish I had more wishes - does that count as a wish?

I wish I only had one job. One workplace. My masters' degree done. Knowing where I work after five years, ten years, all the way until retirement. A boring life with stability.

I am tired of being tired....
