When Israel was taken to the borders of the promised land, twelve spies were sent to survey the land and report to the nation (Numbers 13). Before choosing twelve representatives for the task, God promised the land would be theirs: "Send out for yourself men so that they may spy out the land of Canaan, which I am going to give to the sons of Israel; you shall send a man from each of their fathers' tribes, every one a leader among them" (v. 2). No matter what the spies encountered, the promise of God should have had priority and overruled any desire to retreat.

When the spies returned, ten brought back pessimistic (unbelieving) reports (vv. 28-29, 31-33). Two spies, Joshua and Caleb, returned with optimistic (faithful) reports because they believed God and not the circumstances they encountered (v. 30). It is important to note that Caleb never denied that there were "giants in the land"; he believed God was stronger than any army of giants. Why is this so? "You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He that is in you than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4).

The nation responded to the report without faith. In effect, they called God a liar: "Then all the congregation lifted up their voices and cried, and the people wept that night" (Numbers 14:1). Their refusal to believe the promise of God brought judgment upon the entire nation.

Israel did not enter the promised land until forty years passed and the unbelieving generation died (14:26-38). Their pessimistic perspective of the future affected their plans for the future. The task of dominion was seen as too great for God, hence too great for man under God's providence. Instead of moving forward, they chose to retreat to the past: "Would that we had died in the land of Egypt! Or would that we had died in the wilderness! And why is the LORD bringing us into this land, to fall by the sword? Our wives and our little ones will become plunder; would it not be better for us to return to Egypt? So they said to one another, 'Let us appoint a leader and return to Egypt' " (Numbers 14:2-4).

There is more that zeros right in on the Democrat mindset, but I thought this, alone, would be hard enough to swallow for now.

I found Republicans in the Bible too. They were the ones making up laws that extrapolated from, but did not adhere to the spirit of, God's laws, then getting all bent out of shape when Jesus & Co. didn't follow the laws.

No I'm not a Democrat. I vote conservative more often than not. But sometimes Republicans get it wrong too.

Yes, they do. But generally not deliberately. They usually seem to think they are doing right, while Democrats appear to know most of what they do is against God's will, but they don't care.

why anyone would want to attach a 'carnal-name' to themselves or onto others
this is not, to us anyway, a good thing...people are people...
associating with a title or worldly-group does not change who a person is inside...

GAL:. 5:1.
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again
with the yoke of bondage.

well i guess i found the republicans too, then:

"For from the least of them even to the greatest of them, everyone is greedy for gain, and from the prophet even to the priest everyone deals falsely.
"They have healed the brokenness of My people superficially, saying, 'peace, peace,' but there is no peace.
"Were they ashamed because of the abomination they have done? They were not even ashamed at all; they did not even know how to blush. Therefore they shall fall among those who fall; at the time that I punish them, they shall be cast down,"
says the LORD.…

(Jeremiah 6:13-15)

Willie there are democrats all throughout the Bible.

First Samuel 30:21-25
[SUP]21 [/SUP]And David came to the two hundred men, which were so faint that they could not follow David, whom they had made also to abide at the brook Besor: and they went forth to meet David, and to meet the people that were with him: and when David came near to the people, he saluted them.

[SUP]22 [/SUP]Then answered all the wicked men and men of Belial, of those that went with David, and said, Because they went not with us, we will not give them ought of the spoil that we have recovered, save to every man his wife and his children, that they may lead them away, and depart.
[SUP]23 [/SUP]Then said David, Ye shall not do so, my brethren, with that which the Lord hath given us, who hath preserved us, and delivered the company that came against us into our hand.
[SUP]24 [/SUP]For who will hearken unto you in this matter? but as his part is that goeth down to the battle, so shall his part be that tarrieth by the stuff: they shall part alike.
[SUP]25 [/SUP]And it was so from that day forward, that he made it a statute and an ordinance for Israel unto this day.

Fortunately an Independent was in control there. =^.^=

A wise man. He was speaking of those who served in support capacities........ (like cooks and mechanics in the Army)........ not about the "lay-arounds" who refused to do anything but eat free food.

Always fish out of the right side of your boat. That's because out of the left side, all you get are socialists, communists, and other anti-God folks.
