when a pilot at 89,000 feet - who is looking at a horizon around 400 miles from him says he is "over Tucson" it doesn't mean you can put a pin in the map dead center of Tucson and call it his location.
all the figures given in his account are estimates; he's probably not at exactly 89,000ft in the air, not exactly over the center of Tucson, and not actually seeing the sidewalks in the dead center of LA.
looking at what he says with that in mind - that there is a little bit of 'wiggle room' between what he says and what the literal numbers are, what he says is plausible.
the mean distance between the outer western limits of Tucson and the eastern limits of LA is around 420 miles. the viewable horizon from 89,000ft, looking toward LA with a target elevation of around 270ft is about 385 miles.
the primary feature of LA's downtown is a plethora of skyscrapers, from 500 to over 1,000ft tall. this is no doubt the feature he is talking about being able to see on the horizon, not ground level.
including the altitude of the features he is likely talking about being able to see, from 89,000ft to a target height of 800ft, the visible horizon is about 400 miles away.
if we allow that the pilot may have been somewhere in a 25 mile radius of Tucson, not directly over Tucson, then LA's skyline should actually be right about at the limit of his horizon, according to this math.
but all these calaculations are done without including any atmospheric refraction at all -- and at 89,000ft, Shul was looking down through a lot of atmosphere. this is a very significant effect that expands his viewable horizon -- adding about 7% to the radius for normal calculations ((math is found here: Distance to the Horizon Assuming Refraction | Math Encounters Blog)), and likely more in the extreme case of being between 16 and 17 miles over the earth's surface.
we've calculated a plausible estimate of 400 miles for at least the tops of most of the skyskrapers in LA to be on the viewable horizon under the assumption that the earth is a perfectly spherical ball in a vaccum, having no atmosphere at all. when we do a more reasonable calculation, we get 400*1.07 = 428 miles

Antarctica Anomalies?

But we should not just reject science.
Science is something that is observation of nature.
Nature was created by God and we have ability to observe it by our senses.
Much of these "flat earth" etc conspiracy theories are absolutely nonsensical and threaten the objectivity of observation. Not to mention are throwback to some dark superstitious time.
Lets keep two feet in ground (on earthly things)

McMurdo 24 Hour Sun Disproves Flat Earth?

Jump forward to 2m 45s...notice the sun going up and down. This should NOT happen. According to my Stellarium results that I studied yesterday, the Sun at McMurdo traveled between 10-35 degrees above the horizon. 10 degrees in the south, 35 degrees in the north.
The other thing I noticed in this video is that the wind direction indicator mounted on one of the poles in the McMurdo video is not in line with the cloud pattern direction of travel (1m 54s & 3m 50s). The clouds seem to reverse direction as well. There's no snow on the mountain at 1m 06s, but then at 1m 10s there is snow?
I have previously speculated that the McMurdo 24 hour sun videos were not filmed in Antarctica, but rather another location, perhaps Alaska, Canada, or Siberia?
I'm really at a loss to explain this video proof. The other thing I find suspect, why is a pastor filming a Flat Earth debunking lecture at his church? Is he trying to get the Christian believers on-board with a globe Earth understanding? Is the congregation's laughter a subliminal message to encourage mockery toward Flat Earth researchers? "According to the globe model we know to be true, it makes perfect sense." Anytime someone says the phrase, "that we know to be true", I question it all the more. Maybe I'm being paranoid, but this pastor doesn't seem quite right.
Is this another psy-op? Is Stellarium correct in it's mathematical algorithms? I have seen Polaris videos with star trails that show what appears to be a globe Earth, Stellarium corroborates this, yet now I see this video and it DOES NOT MAKE SENSE!
Why alter or fake any video if the globe model is accurate?

You are blissfully ignorant to these matters, don't take any kind of high ground about this. You can prove, yes prove, Nasa are occultist devil worshipers and the moon landing and ISS are fake. And this is an important matter to be aware of.
Knowing the exact shape, arrangement, and proportions of earth may be impossible, irreverent, unimportant, and distracting. Knowing who is a liar and what is a phony cgi image or studio production is not.
The easiest prey for the enemy is you, the ones ignorant of, uninterested in, and who deny an enemy exists. The fools who go to conspiracy forums and mock like they are programmed to without consideration.

First off, my statement, "Jump forward to 2m 45s...notice the sun going up and down. This should NOT happen." was premature and quite possibly mistaken. Looking at the wide angle lens coverage, it's easy to get turned around and have the Sun appear higher than it is.
Second, to Zi, with respect, there is an agenda in the world today. That agenda is to defraud, steal, kill, torture, poison, rape (yes, politicians involved in child rape/prostitution ring cases that the FBI covers up), dominate, instill fear...the list goes on.
Zi, I'm going to offer a few philosophies here, they are not directed at you or any one person, please do not take offense as none is intended.
If I see someone mugging an old lady outside of my door, should I ignore it and go back to reading my Bible and pray that the police, or some caring neighbor magically appear to help the old lady fight off her attacker? Or should I walk out of my door and get involved in the fray?
If I see corporate interests intentionally poisoning certain items in the food supply, should I tell everyone at church to make sure they pray over their food, and hope that God makes carcinogenic DNA damaging chemicals safe for them to consume, or should I tell them what foods to avoid, and how to spot suspect labeling on packages?
If I see my fellow brothers and sisters, not just Christians but all humans all over the world, being influenced by corporate media to fear N. Korea and go to war for a lie, knowing that many sons and daughters will come back with blown off limbs, psychologically traumatized and ready to commit suicide, or dead...should I just shrug and pray, or should I attempt to warn people that it's a false flag type of situation?
The way I look at Christianity, WE ARE THE ANSWERS to not only our own prayers, but other people's prayers as well. When you go to a church and the pastor says, "let's all pray for Suzie Q. she's getting evicted and has nowhere to stay." My first reaction is, "She can stay with me, I have a spare room until she gets back on her feet." Yet many will gather around, close their eyes and pray, even though they have spare rooms at their residences.
When I consider that GOD in scripture let John the Baptist be beheaded and Christ be flogged/crucified, the apostles be persecuted and murdered one by one. I realized that GOD being spirit isn't interested in the flesh as much as the spirit. So...if the flesh really doesn't matter, why take any precautions at all? Why go to the doctor for checkups to see if you've developed cancer, or have surgeries for heart issues? Why bother continuing on with life at all...knowing that it is most likely going to end painfully and horribly?
Why start a war to protect the illusion of freedom? Why bother helping an old lady get by with her day to day living...let her die right? Everyone has to die sometime, yes?
We have parables about the good Samaritan...we have commandments to care for widows, we have commandments to flee to the mountains in times of danger in Revelation. These commandments to protect, nurture, and preserve life seem to be in conflict with the lay-down-and-die model...or the martyr for Christ model.
Yes...sometimes I am depressed. Sometimes I want to kill myself to end my troubles. Sometimes I walk into dangerous situations to help another out of selfless love for that person. The only thing I really enjoy in life is giving. If I can give of my time to help another person...then my misery or depression price is worth it. Too many Christians want to pray life's troubles away, in effect, passing the buck to some other poor sap who then has to get his elbows dirty instead. I've been ridiculed by my own brothers and sisters in Christ numerous times in this forum. I've left for months to a year at a time, then I've returned to be ridiculed and abused again. Why? Why don't I wash my hands of the human race as a whole and say to myself, "if they won't help themselves, why should I bother trying to help?" I keep referring myself to my signature...CHRISTIAN IS AS CHRISTIAN DOES. If I don't try to help others, I find myself slumping into a deeper depression. The only real happiness I have in this hellish life is in giving. Giving of my time, giving of my resources, giving of my knowledge/wisdom. No, I'm not perfect, and I make plenty of mistakes, but I haven't given up trying to help...yet. Perhaps soon I will give up...and then when I have no purpose for living, maybe then I can get down to business and rid myself of this sagging skin-suit. I've pretty much seen all of this hell on Earth that I want to anyway. Sometimes I feel like I'm in an episode of The Walking Dead...a few humans left in a world full of sheeple/zombie types who don't care about anything or anyone...and the few that do care, only care enough to help provided that it's not too inconvenient. So...do I save my own bacon and abandon others to their respective miserable fate, or do I try and make a difference in someone else's life?

As Randolph and Mortimer Duke from Trading Places made a $1 bet to elevate the status of one man, while ruining the status/repuation of another man's life, certain 'jokes' become entertainment for TPTB. The CIA has their respective think tanks to dream up schemes and adventuring, and if one million people die in a N. Korea type show that they put on, who cares? It doesn't affect their family or interests...often times their stock portfolios will increase in value because of our deaths. Dick Cheney entered the White House as V.P. with $1m to his name, and 8 years later he left with $63m (if memory serves).
What does Bill Gates need with vaccination plans for Africa? A tax write-off? At one point Gates was worth $80b dollars? 80,000 million dollars! How much money does one person need? How much will they ever use in their lifetime?

The original video showing the sun tracking across the sky was spliced into a loop so it could be repeated over and over. The flat people clipped in an extra few seconds of the next loop and raised all kinds of heck about it but it's meaningless.
Also meaningless is the fact that the video showing the man setting up the camera was obviously recorded on a different day than the 24 hour time lapse was taken. It snowed in the interim. Pretty obvious conclusion is that 24 hour time-lapse of a snowstorm was not satisfactory so he recorded again the next day, and didn't take new video of himself setting up the camera because, duh, the camera was already set up.
Common sense.
