"Welcome to today's Family Feud. I am Steve Harvey and we have another good one today as we have two families who are going to try to win $20,000 dollars today. We have the Self-Starter vs the God-Reliers..Man, I can't believe y'all put me on here with these ppl!!"

The Self-Starters have won the toss-up question and have elected(funny, because they hate that word) to answer. The question was, "What do we do to remained saved?"

The first Self-Starter answered "We have to work really hard by continually striving"...

Survey says..

The next Self-Starter said, "We have to maintain our faith."

The third Self-Starter stated, "We have to do good deeds and stuff."

There you have it folks. It shows that the Self-Starters, when it comes to keeping themselves saved, just struck out.

And this is His commandment, That we (Christians) should 1) Believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ (FAITH), AND 2) Love One Another (WORKS), as He gave us commandment. And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

Woe to this generation who does not understand the simplicity in the above verses, teaching us PLAINLY and CLEARLY what His Commandments are. to Believe (Faith) AND Love one another (Works) Woe to this generation indeed. For this generation teaches something CONTRARY to the Apostle John above, they teach that Believing is ENOUGH, and that Loving One Another (WORKS) is not required. For those who do not understand these verses and what these verses teach will one day be weeping or gnashing their teeth because they failed to listen and understand these verses. They pick and choose which verses to believe and which ones not to believe. Believing one verse does not negate other verses. They choose to believe all the verses which teach Believing to be SAVED, all the while ignoring all the verses which teach LOVING ONE ANOTHER to be Saved. They readily accept the verses that teach Eternal Life to those who believe in Jesus, but altogether FAIL to accept the verses which teach Eternal Life is to those who Obey Jesus.

Joh_3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Believing the above verse does not negate or make void the following verse

Heb_5:9 And being made perfect, He became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that OBEY Him;

So the first verse, which this generation knows by heart and believes 100% teaches that believing in Jesus has everlasting life.
The second verse, which this generation ignores, makes void, or interprets away, teaches that Eternal Salvation is given unto all those who OBEY JESUS CHRIST.

Which is correct? is believing enough, according to the first verse. or must we believe AND OBEY Jesus Christ?
Woe to this generation who believes one verse and not another. It is only when ALL verses are TRUE, that a person can come close to understanding the mystery of God, the TRUTH of God. So then if you are one of those who teach only the first verse and FAIL to teach all the other verses concerning what the Word of God teaches it takes for one to be Saved, they will one day weep and gnash their teeth, because they have altogether pick and choose which verses they will believe and which ones they ignore, void, or interpret to mean something other than what it says. They choose to be ignorant of the TRUTH of God.

Believing in Jesus = Everlasting Life (John 3:16)
Obeying Jesus = Eternal Salvation (Heb 5:9)

BOTH are TRUE, BOTH are correct, BOTH are to be Done by Christians. Jesus Commanded us to Love One Another. You can see clearly on these threads who DO BOTH, Who are the sheep and who are the goats.

And this is His Commandment that we should believe on Jesus and Love One Another as He gave us commandment to do. Woe to all those who do not do BOTH.

demons believe in Jesus and they are NOT SAVED. Many Christians believe in Jesus but they will be Judged "NOT Saved". Why? Because they did not DO BOTH. They believed in Jesus but did not DO what He commanded them to do. They where altogether Hearers of the Word but not DOERS of the Word. They built their house on sand, praying to God daily and worshiped Him, saying "Lord, Lord", BUT THEY built their house ON SAND, they did not DO what He commanded them to do.
They FAILED to LOVE ONE ANOTHER, they FAILED to have WORKS, they are GOATS. These think they are sheep and not goats, in reality they are geeps. Cross between a goat and a sheep. They profess with their mouths they are Saved, they love Jesus, they have His Righteousness (sheep) but they are goats and do not have Love One for Another, (geeps) i tell you the Truth only the sheep will taken, and they are few, they Believe and have Good Works, the goats, even though they believe, will be left behind, because they did not Love One Another, they did not OBEY JESUS. and these are MANY, and i mean MANY.

But here is Great News. You can start: Believing AND Obey Jesus by starting to Love One Another, TODAY!!!!!

There's an old song that the Self-Starters love. It's their favorite song, as it tells of their constant struggles to maintain their salvation.

I'm coming up the rough side of the mountain...

Oh Lord, I'm strivin', tryin' to make it through this barren land, but as I go from day to day, I can hear my Savior say,"trust me child, come on and hold my hand."

But those stubborn Self-Startes don't need to Lord to hold their hands, as they can do it themselves, They're rebellious little boogers...

I'm comin' up Lord, although my burdens sometime they press me down, but if I can only keep this faith I'll have strength just to run this race; I'm lookin' for my starry crown.

But can these Self-Starters keep their faith? Can they walk the straight-and-narrow path, being the rebellious little boogers they are? You can see they don't want anyone, including God, around them, as they can do it themselves.

This old race will be soon be over, there'll be no more race for me to run. And I will stand before God's throne,all my heartaches will be gone, I'll hear my Savior say, "welcome home".

They run really hard for a while, but they will eventually get tired from striving and running so hard and pass out on their journey.

I'm comin' up on the rough side of the mountain, I must hold to God, His powerful hand. I'm comin' up on the rough side of the mountain, I'm doin' my best to make it in.

Just about the time they struggled, clawed, clung, grasped, to make it to the top, their adversary got them and they forfeited their salvation and died forever away from the presence of the Lord.

IN the parable, both Sheep and Goats called Jesus "Lord"
Only by the Holy ghost does a person call Jesus "Lord"
The Goats who called Jesus "Lord" via the Holy Ghost, are rejected by Jesus because they did not LOVE ONE ANOTHER.
The Sheep who called Jesus "Lord" via the Holy Ghost, are accepted by Jesus because they did LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

Our Savior and Lord, COMMANDED us Christians to LOVE ONE ANOTHER.
Eternal life is given to those who obey Jesus.

Those who do LOVE ONE ANOTHER will be judged by Jesus Christ as a Sheep.

Woe to the Goats, because they think that believing in Jesus is enough (Faith ONLY) and therefore have NO WORKS. Woe to them indeed, for they take thought that because they accepted Jesus as their Savior and Lord and Got SAVED, that it is impossible for them to every be blotted out of the Book of Life. Therefore they think they can live in sins, have no works, and NOT Love One Another, and they think they are still Heaven bound because they say with their mouths, they believe, but all of their actions prove otherwise. Those who Truly BELIEVE in Jesus, will be LOVING ONE ANOTHER, they will be full of Good Works, NOT to maintain their Salvation, NO!! But they will be full of Good Works, because LOVE lives inside of them. But wow to this generation who give Jesus lip service, and do NOT OBEY HIM, Jesus COMMANDED us to Love One Another. Woe to them who do not do what He COMMANDS, they are like the person who built their house on sand. But those who DO what He says (Love One Another) build their house on rock. Woe to this generation who believes a the lie that once you are Saved, you don't need any works.
Getting Saved (one time event, specific time in your life that your name is written in the Book of Life) Requires NO WORKS at all, NONE. FAITH ONLY Gets a person Saved.

Now lets talk about AFTER that specific time when a person Gets Saved, what does the Word of God teach those who are ALREADY SAVED, those who have already accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior and LORD, those who already GOT SAVED, they are to DO what Jesus COMMANDS them to do, once they ARE SAVED, and that is to LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

Sheep = Love One Another, full of Good Works, Maintain Good works as they are instructed to do.
Goats = Believe Faith only is enough and have NO WORKS, and do NOT do as Christ COMMANDS.

Sheep = Believe in Jesus AND Good Works prove who is in their hearts.
Goats = Believe in Jesus AND don't need to do anything else, not even obey Jesus.

Woe to this Generation indeed. The Sheep are taken up with Jesus. The Goats are left behind weeping and gnashing their teeth, because they Failed to hear the voice of their Master when the TRUTH was given to them by His servants.

They are those who FAILED to establish a genuine inner, personal LOVE relationship with Jesus Christ as LORD, meaning MASTER. They only knew about Jesus in their Human Brains, and NEVER had that Godly LOVE FOR HIM that the Holy Spirit put in our hearts. (See Rom. 5:5) GENUINE BIBLICAL BELIEVING is something comes out of our Hearts after the Holy Spirit poured GOD's LOVE into it when we were Born Again.

The apostles collected much money for helping the poor and sick
Jesus as such had no money as far as i know as he had no need for it as son of God.

We should follow those principles set by God.

Give money to the poor (or things we have in excess)

I think we all fall short of that command.. God give us mercy in our greed and make us holy.

I have always liked this bible verse because it proves that God loves us forever. I believe they had money belts or purses back then, because No Levi Jean's meant no pockets to but your wallet in. There were lots of highway robber and street thieves so putting your money hidden away in a money belt was probably safer and it meant you had taxi fare (camel) to get home.

I think they probably left their family photo's on the table at home, maybe.

What is Biblical Sanctification:

The generic meaning of sanctification is "the state of proper functioning." To sanctify someone or something is to set that person or thing apart for the use intended by its designer. A pen is "sanctified" when used to write. Eyeglasses are "sanctified" when used to improve sight. In the theological sense, things are sanctified when they are used for the purpose God intends. A human being is "sanctified", therefore, when he or she lives according to God's design and purpose.

The Greek word translated "sanctification" (hagiasmos) means "holiness." To sanctify, therefore, means "to make holy." In one sense only God is holy (Isa 6:3). God is separate, distinct, other. No human being or thing shares the holiness of God's essential nature. There is one God. Yet Scripture speaks about holy things. Moreover, God calls human beings to be holyas holy as he is holy (Lev 11:44 ; Matt 5:48 ; 1 Peter 1:15-16). Another word for a holy person is "saint" (hagios), "meaning a sanctified one." The opposite of sanctified is "profane" (Lev 10:10).

God said through Peter, "in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord" (1 Peter 3:15). One sanctifies Christ by responding to unbelievers meaningfully, out of a good conscience and faithful life. God calls his own to set themselves apart for that which he has set them apart. Sanctify, therefore, becomes a synonym for "trust and obey" (Isa 29:23). Another name for this action is "consecration." To fail to sanctify God has serious consequences (Num 20:12).

Human beings ultimately cannot sanctify themselves. The Triune God sanctifies. The Father sanctifies ( 1 Cor 1:30 ) by the Spirit ( 2 Thess 2:13 ; 1 Peter 1:2 ) and in the name of Christ ( 1 Cor 6:11 ). Yet Christian faith is not merely passive. Paul calls for active trust and obedience when he says, "Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God" ( 2 Cor 7:1 ).

Sanctification According to God's Creative Design.A person or thing can be sanctified in two ways according to God's creative purpose or according to God's redemptive design. All sanctified in the first sense are used by God in the second sense. Not all God uses in the second sense are sanctified in the first sense. Fallen human beings still bear God's image ( James 3:9-10 ). Fallen creation still witnesses to God's existence and attributes ( Psalm 19:1-6 ; Rom 1:20 ). Yet both, depending on the analogy employed, are skewed, broken, fallen, dysfunctional, "unsanctified."

Conclusion: Sanctification always requires God's presence. His presence is more than his "being there"a corollary of his omnipresence. It is his dynamic presence, producing fruit for which he alone is the source. "Indwelling" is not God's way of getting close to us sensually. It is a theological, rather than experiential, reality; it is "experienced" by faith, not by feeling.

NO, because there is enough to believe in the heart, written into EVERYTHING HE CREATED, to have that Saving Faith in the Creator. Therefore even the Native American tribes before Christian Immigrants came, who Believed from the Heart that the GREAT SPIRIT created everything, most certainly are Saved.
