Are the actions of king Ahab a paradigm of what the U.S has become in the last 25 years? Are we following the same pattern, and if so, will God judge the United States accordingly as He did Israel?

And Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the Lord above all that were before him. (1 Kings 16:30)

Read what the king did, and see if the U.S. is following the same pattern, as we read 1 Kings chapters 18 through 20.

Judge before the events in Revelation? Wouldn't that be overkill? We all know why the wrath of God comes... Why judge then judge again so close in time

We are close to the second advent, and before that the vengeance of our Lord.

"Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till thou find none." (Psalm 10:15)

John 5:21-23

[SUP]21 [/SUP]For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son also gives life to whom He wishes. [SUP]22 [/SUP]For not even the Father judges anyone, but He has given all judgment to the Son, [SUP]23 [/SUP]so that all will honor the Son even as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.

God is not judging the US and never has and never will.

Jesus is the righteous judge and he will judge righteous judgement at the end of the age.

Did God judge Ahab? There is definitely a parallel. Killing of children (abortion), sexual promiscuity, gender role changes, homosexuality, denying religious proclamations, and it goes on and on getting worse as the days go by. Ahab and Jezebel's paradigm together, succumbing to Satan's persuasions, step by step, turning our country away from the foundations that it was built upon. Keep in mind that Jesus was there before the world was created, and He is also the Creator. In Biblical records, He is the One that exacts judgement.

The Lord has great mercy and love, he will put off the Day of the Lord and Judgement day as long as he can, so many people can be saved and God's light and glory can be seen, people in heaven will look through history and see God's hand all throughout great events and small events, His plan to save people, punish the wicked with discipline and love, so they can learn from suffering for their sins, repent and be saved.

God had deal with people directly before Jesus.
When Jesus came God handed over all authority to him.

Matt 28.18 All authority has been given to me in Heaven and Earth

Jesus was talking in John 5:20-23

Furthermore, Kids were being aborted to gods like Molech way before the time of Ahab and Jezebel.

Be careful which president president you compare to Ahab. Be happy to live in America where we have such great freedom. In the past in America there was racism, sexism, many unfair discriminating stupid laws. Jehu, who killed Ahab and Jezebel, slaughtered many other royal Israelites, killed some children and nonguilty adults, he was a ruthless killer.

America is different from Ancient Israel. We are a secular republic, we are not ruled by religion, we have religious freedom and separation of church and state. Separation of church and state does not only mean public schools are not allowed to teach about religion, it means the government is not allowed to favor one religion over another, we are not to be ruled by religious tyrants, churches are considered non-profit organizations, so they don't have to pay taxes, but these days churches are getting into politics, telling the congregation how to vote, which they are not suppose to do.

We don't have laws against sex sins. It used to be there were social taboos against sex sins in the Bible, Sex outside of marriage was taboo, my dad told me homosexuality was illegal in the 1950/1960, homos could be jailed for it. Dad said America had stricter moral values when he was a youth and that Christianity has a lot in common with Islam, and Judaism.

it's those hippies who changed things, some of the change was good, hypocrisy was exposed, there was more honesty in faith and churches.

Sure but things have got out of hand now.

So has not the legal system in the U.S. sanctioned abortion, and has God ever let it go without judgement, and is not this serving the same pagan god Baal? Jezebel was a Phoenician, and that was before Ahab. So does chronology matter in this instance?
If Jesus is the Word of God, who in the world do you think told the prophets the word of God?
There is no shadow of turning with the Father and the Son.
"Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." (Hebrews 13:8)
"For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed." (Malachi 3:6)
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." (James 1:17)

Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. (Revelation 2:5)

Revelation 2:15-16
[SUP]15 [/SUP]So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against *them with the sword of my mouth.

"The doctrine of the Nicolaitanes"... is systematic removal of righteous instructions, by corrupt governmental authorities, starting first in the church because of their apathetic weakness, rendering them unsubstantial to the public, thereby opening the door to the pagan corruption that permeates society. Same thing BC as in AD.

For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? (1 Peter 4:17)

Who is "
*them " but the powers that be in government whether communist, socialist, democrat, republican or an outright dictatorship, the judgement is the same in every case. It's just a matter of time. Under these current circumstances, how are we to love our enemies?

"But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible."
(Matthew 19:26)

Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;
(Isaiah 1:16)

I am not justifying the SIN you think just all of sudden sprang up here in the USA. There is nothing new under the sun. The notion that the people and government USA was somehow always so noble and Christian is naivety. The USA has never had a Biblical worldview or was ever a theocracy that God is now going to all of sudden judge.

This stuff does not move me, and it does not make me come down off my wall.

Unobtrusive, you need to get it out of your head that God chooses nations in the NT but rather is building a Kingdom of priests to our God. No mention of the USA or any modern nation, unless you count Greece, which is not a straight line from ancient times to today, in the Bible!

I stand against the fantasy that Israel is still "special" too! Which is not to say that I don't support Israel, I do! But, they are just another group of people waiting to here the message of the gospel and be saved.

The US has been dominate in the world for many years. But, there is simply no Biblical analogy between ancient Israel and today. Who woujld be Ahab? How about killers of Ahab? We don't even know who shot the fatal arrow in that battle.

Are you saying they story of Ahab is an analogy or a prophecy? Because, it is recorded history, not prophecy, and there certainly are no parallels with Ahab and the modern USA, unless you stretch this idea beyond the breaking point.

I heard a preacher saying that the USA isn't in Revelation, so, uh-oh, that means we've been wiped off the earth. You could here all these gasps from people.

So I asked, where was the USA anywhere else in the Bible, so he mentions some eagle somewhere in the OT.

Um. No.

you should ask Jonathan Cahn what he thinks about that since he wrote the book

sounds like you might have read it too

The Paradigm by Jonathan Cahn

interesting you both thought of that at the same time

( didn't read the book. just heard about it)

Glad you caught that.

"Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it. 'Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”

Studying Biblical history, for the professing Christian, is necessary to avoid repeating past mistakes. This saying comes from the writings of George Santayana, a Spanish-born American author of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

Ezekiel 3:18-20
18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
20 Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling-block before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

I pity the people who see the danger and say nothing against it, even to the point of denying the danger by scoffing remarks, and yet call themselves believers in Christ. We are here to endorse loudly the principles which our Saviour taught us. Is a good soldier supposed to cower during the battle, standing back and do nothing as the carnage and chaos wreak havoc on society? “Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.” (2 Timothy 2L3)

What is the end result for those who refuse to address the carnage that is happening in our own personal world, ignoring scriptures given for our learning right here and right now?

"Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them." (Matthew 7:20) In this case, their posts that expose their fruits.

“For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.” (Romans 15:4)
