I saw most of the picture of Virgin Mary is wearing Vail. why many christian not wearing it even in the church.

as u know most Muslim Women wear Vail. it seems that we are following Jesus than u guys do.

1 Corinthians 11:5-10: "But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but tthe woman is the glory of the man. For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man. Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man. For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels."

1 Corinthians 11:13: "Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God (with her head) uncovered?"

respectfully,

protestants pay no heed to pictures of mary (pictures of anyone biblical for that matter). that is a catholic thing.

muslim women are forced to wear a veil, are they not?. in extreme islam not only the head must be covered but the entire body! does allah require this?

we have freedom in Christianity: we are not forced to do anything.

notice how it mentions shorn heads: a shaved head signalled one was a "temple" prostitute (pagan) - this very thing was still taking place in the church at corinth (shaven heads). paul admonished that group alot over the bringing in of their old pagan ways.

notice how it says, then, that men are not to "cover" their heads: do not muslim men wear the hijab?

A hijab or ḥijāb (Arabic: حجاب, (he-zjab)pronounced [ħiˈdʒæːb]/[ħiˈɡæːb]) is both the head covering traditionally worn by Muslim men and women and modest Muslim styles of dress in general.
The Arabic word literally means curtain or cover (noun). Most Islamic legal systems define this type of modest dressing as covering everything except the face and hands in public.[1][2] According to Islamic scholarship, hijab is given the wider meaning of modesty, privacy, and morality;[3] the word for a headscarf or veil used in the Qur'an is khimār (خمار) and not hijab. Still another definition is metaphysical, where al-hijab refers to "the veil which separates man or the world from God."[2]
Muslims differ as to whether the hijab should be required on women in public, as it is in countries like Iran and Saudi Arabia, or whether it should be banned in schools, as it is in France and Turkey.

Still another definition is metaphysical, where al-hijab refers to "the veil which separates man or the world from God."

Most Islamic legal systems define this type of modest dressing as covering everything except the face and hands in public.

According to the Encyclopedia of Islam and the Muslim World, the meaning of hijab has evolved over time:
The term hijab or veil is not used in the Qur'an to refer to an article of clothing for women or men, rather it refers to a spatial curtain that divides or provides privacy.

Along with scriptural arguments, Leila Ahmed argues that head covering should not be compulsory in Islam because the veil predates the revelation of the Qur'an. Head-covering was introduced into Arabia long before Muhammad, primarily through Arab contacts with Syria and Iran, where the hijab was a sign of social status. After all, only a woman who need not work in the fields could afford to remain secluded and veiled.[8][9]

Besides the veil the muslim women are also pouring gas on themselves and setting themselves on fire because they are treated so horribly.

God is no respector of persons. Means he loves men and women just the same. A man is no better than a woman.

Mary was just woman. Not a perfect woman because the bible says we were all born in sin.

The veil was a custom of the place. If you read a few lines down it talks about the dress as what was there. But it wasn't everywhere.

God looks at the heart not the veil someone wears.

Last time I seen Jesus he was wearing tennis shoes and jeans just like the people around here.

Last time I had talk to a lady who was wanting to know why the women these days weren't wearing holy clothes. She most likely wore a fancey dress and a fancey hat to church.

Look at the hearts like Jesus.

In addition, the 'covering' refers to headship and leadership that she is to be submissive to. In other words, she is not to prophesy unless she has the spiritual covering of a husband, a pastor, or both. And not only that, but NO ONE should be prophesying in a church unless they have the blessing of the lead pastor or elders to do so. If this were not the case, then any church would open themselves to the 'prophesying' of any and everyone without their having to be accountable to the body and for what they say. It wold leave them open to the rantings of wanna-be prophets and even those that would prophesy falsely or even intentionally wickedly.

Sadly lots of the pastors and elders aren't under God.

I like to think how Jesus tore the veil of the temple. Throw the veils away.

dude, I am still waiting for you to answer one of my posts

let me tell you about Allah

Allah was the moon god in the old Babylonian pantheon

he was one of 360 deities

his characteristic was that his mood kept changing - as in the phases of the moon

Allah knows nothing about love

you will not find the word love in the Quran

The God of the Bible knew perfect love among the members of the Trinity before the universe was even created.

You ARE going to hell.

Dear God have mercy on this person. God wants no one to go to hell. God loves people. God understands if a muslim has been lied to all of their lives.

GOd just wants you to know that he loves you and he is calling and waithing for you. Forgive some of the people who don't act like love. Thats one of the first rules Gos teaches us is to forgive people just as God forgives us.

God bless you!

2 Timothy 24 The Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, 25with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, 26and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.

First, the Lord really has shown me this verse Greatkraw, do we forget the grace that God showed us when we were in err?

Second, LightMe, you did not do your homework either on real Christianity, but looked at catholicism which is not Christianity.

Thrid, the plight of Islam is the curse of God from the Old Testement. Given to ishmael, and Esau, They are always against israel, they live by the sword, they are against their own people

Genesis 16
11 The angel of the LORD also said to her:
"You are now with child
and you will have a son.
You shall name him Ishmael, [a]
for the LORD has heard of your misery. 12 He will be a wild donkey of a man;
his hand will be against everyone
and everyone's hand against him,
and he will live in hostility
toward [b] all his brothers."
Genesis 25
32 "Look, I am about to die," Esau said. "What good is the birthright to me?"
34 Then Jacob gave Esau some bread and some lentil stew. He ate and drank, and then got up and left.
So Esau despised his birthright.
Genesis 27
39 His father Isaac answered him,
"Your dwelling will be
away from the earth's richness,
away from the dew of heaven above. 40 You will live by the sword
and you will serve your brother.
But when you grow restless,
you will throw his yoke
from off your neck."

Muslims care nothing about the True God, because they are rejected. Only through Christ Jesus the Messiah, can they have any hope. They are cursed, when Muhammad couldn't get the people to beleive him, he just killed everyone who opposed or didn't beleive. Islam is it's own cruel whip, it's so sad

I dont think GREATKAW has said anything that is particularly wrong, its all quite factual... this lightMe guy is not interested in the truth nor in discussion or reason or reality, hes just in here throwing statements around and then bailing. Without out christ lightme will perish. Lord forbid. If anything greatkaw may just be a little frustrated with this guy not responding to logic and just using this chat site to do a little vandalism. This is about the 5th or 6th topic lightme has started and all he's really saying is "im a muslim, your stupid in your faith, your scriptures are full of contradictions, your all lazy noncommitted losers" haha

By the way LightMe, all your really doing here is showing that you understand very little about Christiany or our God, or our faith, or our scriptures. Im actually a little surprised with some of the muslim sources youve quoted throughout your posts - that even your leaders know very little about christianty.

Allah = moon god ?
or
Allah= Elohim

Allah = Al-lah = Al (The) lah (God)

Allah being the word used by arab christian, jews and muslims. Just go and pick-up any arabic bible and you'll see. Or if your too lazy, you can click on the following link: and you'll find an arab Jew explaining how Allah and Elohim is the same !

YouTube - A Jew explains why Allah is the one and only God

Question:

How can Allah (Muslim) = God (Christianity) when the Quran (?) only views Christ as a nothing more than a prophet and not the Son of God?

I'm not trying to stir anything up, I'm just curious.

I'm sorry to say but the picture of Mary is not a Roman Catholic thing. Western Christianity mainly utilizes statues. The Orthodox Church uses icons, which are pictures.
