John 17:4-5/30
I have glorified thee on the earth: I have FINISHED the work which thou gavest me to do. And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee…. BEFORE …..THE WORLD WAS. When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, ........he said, IT IS FINISHED

At His death the NEW testament came into effect....as you put it "the end of the age"......the NEW AGE began.
Not the end of the world.
Yes, the world WILL end......someday.......be it a minute from now or thousands of years yet to come.
WE, on this side of the cross of Christ, are living under the NEW testament for which He shed His blood.
Galatians 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are NOT UNDER THE LAW. Hebrews 8:6 But now hath He obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also He is the meditor of a….BETTER…covenant,…which was established upon…BETTER promises. {We are under the…… BETTER….. covenant and….. BETTER…. promises…the Law of CHRIST}.
We are living under the NEW testament now......
IT IS WRITTEN: Heb 8:13 In that he saith, A NEW covenant, HE hath MADE THE FIRST OLD. Now that which decayeth and waxeth OLD is ready to VANISH AWAY........
Mark 14:24 And he said unto them, This is my blood of the NEW testament, which is shed for MANY…Christ shed His blood for the NEW testament
The end will come when He returns.....not before
We need to always be ready and be busy and in obedience and about HIS work
Second coming: 2 PETER 3: 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat,..THE EARTH.. also and the works that are therein….. SHALL BE BURNED UP

The end does come.. we don’t know the day or the hour.. but it comes.. don’t fear but GOD knows what evil will come if He does not put an end.. but not before His crop be ripe.
Ed said he does not understand why I continually preach that Jesus was not predicting the end of the world.
In reply, may I direct you to the thread here entitled, "The Rapture". Look, and you will find it. Check out the fanatic obsession with that one thread. Look at the "visits" and the "replies." They are in the multiple THOUSANDS... for that one post, about one subject. (That is not even in the Bible.)
It is this kind of obsession that I feel is the primary reason to keep on pointing out that the Bible never speaks of a "Surprise Rapture", and you can't find a mention of it in even one of the creeds that are the basis of everything our denominations claim to believe.
It is a sickness I believe Satan has infected the church with, and I believe it may destroy many of us.

Reading between the lines, necessary to understand what people are really saying: "When they shall say peace and safety then sudden destruction shall come upon them."
I think many look for an escape and when they learn of the end times seek to know they will not be here but Raptured.
GOD can cover and protect you while here on earth.. nothing is able to come against you unless it is meant to. Since many have been persecuted and killed from then until now for their Faith.. one must be prepared to die for their Faith.

Then, wouldn't that stand to show that the days we are living in cannot possibly be "the end days of the world? Why? Because every person saying it is the end, says so because they see no peace in the world, and they are mainly all expressing fear of nuclear destruction from all sides. They see no "safety" or "peace" anywhere.

Let me tell you a story.
When I first got saved, it was in a very dispensational church where absolutely everyone believed in the rapture.
I was listening to the radio one day, and some frenzied, fanatical, out-of-breath, crazy sounding guy kept saying the rapture was coming in a couple months, and the world was ending, and we needed to START SAYING GOODBYE TO EVERYONE RIGHT NOW!!!!
I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT!
THIS WAS CRAZY!
OH MY GOODNESS!
To say the least, I was quite disturbed, as was my girlfriend.
We were hoping to get married soon, and now... dang it all... the world was ending in just a couple months.
Just my luck!
Some great girl finally falls for me... and the world has to end!
What kinda luck is that!
Ugh.
This was just great.
So being quite upset, I immediately set a meeting to see my pastor.
I told him about the guy on the radio, and how convincing it all sounded, and finally asked my big question, "WAS IT TRUE?"
This extremely dispensational man, with extremely strong belief in the rapture, ever-so-calmly took a long slow drink from a tall bottle of grape soda, and smiled a big, warm, knowing smile.
Then he put his big bear-like hands on the table and said,
"Son, stop listening to crazy people on the radio and go enjoy your day."
And that was that.
Epilogue:
It seems there ARE people who believe in the rapture who are perfectly calm, and reasonable, and don't get upset by every nut on the radio... and who are making perfectly normal plans for the future just like everyone else.
They just feel that one day God may choose, at some unknown moment, to interrupt those plans.
But to be perfectly honest, I think all Christians know God may suddenly interrupt their plans... with or without a rapture.

Look at what Paul says to the Thessalonians - the day would not "overtake" them - in other words the fast approaching day would not surprise them when it came within their lifetime.
If Paul was predicting the day of the Lord 1970 years and counting into the future his statements in the above would be pointless to write as they would be long dead.

The first warning Jesus gave was don't be deceived, because satan will come first claiming to be Christ and kill spiritually, if you warship satan thinking he is Christ you are libel to loose your soul, he cannot harm a hair on your head, Jesus said he would return in the fig tree generation which started in 1948, those born in 1948 and live to be 70 would see the return of Christ.God bless
If you used a concordance you would know that the scripture states world age without end, thats the world age to come when Christ returns. The same as when is the end of the world, it should read when is the end of this world age. God bless
I do not see any Scripture saying we should be looking, but we always need to be ready, but I do not know all of the Scriptures so I am sure that there are some here that will post the Scriptures that would say we need to look for His coming, which would be great because I like know as much of the Scriptures as I can.

This is a preview of the "Rapture."
Simple....to admit error means one is in error....All these guys who push this 1st century A.D. garbage have no leg to stand on....Just like Cyborgdog.....who pushes Revelation and the two witnesses already took place in the 1st century A.D........they are all oblivious to the fact that even many of the O.T. prophecies were indicative of the end of the age and blended in with the current events that happened B.C. Same rings true with JESUS and his word to the first N.T. church is Matthew 24, Luke 21, Mark 13....dual prophecy blended and applicable to ANY church in existence when it happens....JESUS did not know the time at that time he spoke......
SO let us take this to it's illogical end.....NOTHING written in the church letters are applicable to any of us because they were all 1st century churches that are now out of existence......
No wonder you think the two witnesses and Revelation took place in the 1st Century........
How about some historical evidence of the 2 witnesses in 1st Century....surly something would be written by someone seeing how they would lay dead for three days in Jerusalem and then resurrect and go into heaven in front of ALL to see....
