Thank you, Grandpa.

I am not ashamed to do God's law.
I shall keep Jesus' works until the end.

But I will add, that when I make a sabbath, it is for the three days, minimum.
So it isn't practical to do it weekly.

But if you never done it like God commanded before, as most people haven't,
then your six days are surely up.

And it shall come to pass, if ye diligently hearken unto Me, saith the LORD,
to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath day,
but hallow the sabbath day, to do no work therein;

Then shall there enter into the gates of this city
kings and princes sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses,
they, and their princes, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem:
and this city shall remain for ever.

And they shall come from the cities of Judah,
and from the places about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin,
and from the plain, and from the mountains, and from the south,
bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and meat offerings, and incense,
and bringing sacrifices of praise, unto the house of the LORD.

Jeremiah 17:24

Just like Moses' day, and Jesus' day, and your last day, are not single days,
neither is the sabbath day a single day.
At least, it isn't for me.

Paul
You aren't doing Gods Law. You are following a carnal commandment. A commandment that you think you understand and can fulfill by your own understanding, will, and strength.

And that is why if you are of the works of the law you are under the curse. Because the law is spiritual but you are carnal.

Galatians 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

Romans 8:1-2
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Hi Paul,
I don't see from what I said 'legalistic' is lawlessness?
Anyhow, I have answered your question. You asked the exact same question the Apostle PAul rhetorically asks in Romans 6. And Paul answers it succinctly. In fact Romans 6..is basically the answer to your questioning. Regarding the Sabbath. Are you saying we (Christians) are commanded therefore obligated to keep it as a weekly Sabbath. Observing it weekly?

Phil just using your own reasoning here...

Are Christians required to not lie?
Are Christians required to not steal?
Are Christians required to not murder?
Are Christians required to not commit adultery?
Are Christians required to not covet?
Are Christians required to not use God's name in vain?
Are Christians required to not make idols and bow down to them?
Are Christians required to not have any other God's?
Are Christians required to not lie?
Are Christians required to keep God's Sabbath holy?

Here you can find your answers here..... Exodus 20:1-17; Matthew 22:36-40; Romans 13:8-10; James 2:8-12

Lovely Scriptures Grandpa I love every one of them. What your point is I do not understand as no one here is telling you that you are saved by keeping God's Law. We are saved by grace through faith and not of yourself it is a gift of God lest any man should boast. Now if no one is saying that we are saved by keeping God's Law what is your point? Obedience is the fruit of faith and if you do not have it God's Word says your faith is dead

Maybe you can answer this question for Phil as I do not think he knows the answer.......

If someone is professing to be a Christian living a life in known unrepentant sin, are they in a saved state before God, or an unsaved state?
Why do you infer that this isn't a salvation issue but then bring up salvation?

I think that people can be saved and still try to work at their understanding of what they think the law says. Thus, living a life of unrepentant sin.

Because, if it were up to people and their work and understanding then sadly no one would be saved.

The Written word...It is not in the heavens, to say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it to us - present yourself approved to Yah, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly handling the Word of Truth

Deuteronomy 30:11-14, "For this command which I am commanding you today, it is not too hard for you, nor is it far off. It is not in the heavens, to say, ‘Who shall ascend into the heavens for us, and bring it to us, and cause us to hear it, so that we do it? Nor is it beyond the sea, to say, ‘Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it to us, and cause us to hear it, so that we do it? For the Word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart – to do it."

2 Timothy 2:15, “Do your utmost to present yourself approved to Yah, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly handling the Word of Truth.”

1 Thessalonians 5:21, "but test everything; hold fast what is righteous."

John 17:17, “Set them apart in Your truth – Your Word is truth.”

its always been Gods way to speak and then have written and preserved His words, they are that important. without the written word, we would be at the mercy of anyone saying "God said this" or " this is Gods Will" even the Lord Jesus quoted the written word when He was facing temptation. he responds to satan " it is written...it iswritten...it is written. the written Word should be every christians source for anything that is learned and taught about God. His words are ever present in most any language, straight forward and require only simple belief of what is actually there.

the written Word is Gods Spoken Word first, through prophets, to man. Just Like God spoke and creation sprang forth.....His word is power and He speaks forth principles rather than details and letters you are left with a spirit of peace, mercy, forgivness, blessing, praise, thanks, acts of Love toward others, generousity, purity of Mind and Heart........thats where His words Lead and when you receive the spirit in them the law will be kept byu the spirit in those words of the Gospel.

the Gospel is the solution to the problem of sinful man,.....and whats written is the most precious and trustworthy beacon we have or can have. tried and true and proven Gods words carry on without fail

What does God's Word say.........................?

Act 17:30

And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now <when a knowledge of the truth comes> commands all men every where to repent

Hebrews 10:26-27

26, For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

So the answer to the question..................

If someone is professing to be a Christian living a life in known unrepentant sin, are they in a saved state before God, or an unsaved state?

The answer is no they are not because they are breaking God's Law and committing sin and stand guilty before God of breaking his Law and unless they confess and forsake their sins they will be lost. Sin is the transgression of God's Law and if we break it we will be judged by it...........

The 7th Day Sabbath is the 4th commandment and is one of the 10...... (Exodus 20:8-11)

James says if we break one of the 10 we are guilty before God of breaking all of them... (James 2:8-12)

Sunday worship is a traditions and teaching of man that breaks the commandments of God. God's Word says if we follow the teachings and traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God....

Matthew 15:3-9
3, But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? 4, For God commanded, saying, Honor thy father and mother: and, He that curses father or mother, let him die the death. 5, But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou might be profited by me; 6, And honor not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. 7, Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, 8, This people drawes nigh unto me with their mouth, and honors me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 9, But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Who do we follow God or man?

Ok friend, late my time nice to chat with you maybe we can chat more latter. It would be nice if you could respond to my questions and posts as I have politely answered all yours. I do not ask you respond to me personally however but only ask that you find out for yourself through prayerful study of God's Word. Maybe we can chat more latter. Whether you believe me or not it is ok I do not judge you because it is written; If any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejects me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. These scriptures are for all of us that we may seek him who loves all.

May God bless you as you seek him through his Word.

That would be a really good post and in perfect agreement to mine as well.

But I have a feeling you don't understand it. And think you have posted scripture that is not in agreement to what I wrote.

Romans 4:13ff

13For the promise that Abraham would be heir of the world was not made to him and his descendants through the Law, but through the righteousness that comes by faith. 14For if those who live by the Law are heirs, faith is useless and the promise is worthless,15because the Law brings wrath.
Romans 9:6-8, "However, it is not as though YHWH's plan had failed. For it is not everyone who is a descendant of Yisra’yl who belongs to Yisra’yl. Nor, just because they are his descendants, are they all Abraham's children; but: In Isaac will your seed be called. That is, it is not those who are the children of the flesh who are YHWH's children; but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham's seed."

Psalm 105:6-9, "O seed of Abraham His servant, You children of Yaaqob, His chosen ones! He is YHWH our Father! His judgments are in all the earth. He has remembered His covenant forever, the Law He commanded for a thousand generations; Which He made; ratified, established, with Abraham, and vowed by His oath to Isaac. He confirmed it; let it stand, to Yaaqob for a Law, and to Israyl for an everlasting covenant."

Dear Grandpa.

Do you see "resting on saturdays" to be a fruit of the spirit?? No of course not. That is following a carnal commandment. One that can be fulfilled by our own understanding, strength and will.
When you reduce the Lord's sabbath commandment to "resting on saturdays", then sure, it is merely a carnal commandment.

But the Lord is God's spirit, and His law came by Moses, and it is not carnal,
and keeping the sabbaths involves more than just resting on Saturdays.

There shall be day of atonement,
and one must afflict their soul in that day.

For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day,
he shall be cut off from among His people.

Leviticus 23:29

This is not a carnal commandment.
And it isn't that mystical that you cannot understand it, or do it.
It simply means, don't be dreaming about the lemon pie you are going to have after the sabbath,
or wonder whether your horse is going to win while your out making sabbath.
It means, make your eye single for God.
It means put all your carnality, all your desires and worldly thoughts, aside for a little while.

If something is spiritual it is something that we cannot do of ourselves. It is something that has to be caused by God. See John 15:5, again...
If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual,
let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.

1 Corinthians 14:37

Do you just not understand the passages in Galatians or has the SDA told you that Paul is a false apostle?
I see men use St Paul to write off God's word.

To me, that is a false gospel.
St Paul said he was speaking to them that know the law.
St Paul says offer up your bodies a living sacrifice, which is your reasonable service.
This is the sabbath of the Lord, and it is His feast, that Paul is speaking about.
St Paul is teaching Levitical commandments, not carnal commandments.

What was the schoolmaster to bring us to Christ?
Christ, or the anointing of God, is the purpose and the outcome of doing the law for righteousness, to those that believe.

In the law God tells us the anointing is appointed to the sons of Aaron.
Who are the sons of Aaron? but the priests of God.
That is, you and me, and anybody who is learning and/or teaching the Lord's works.
Jesus makes us priests unto God.
Isn't it?

And the anointing happens in the sabbath, if we make it right.

This is the portion of the anointing of Aaron, and of the anointing of his sons,
out of the offerings of the LORD made by fire,
in the day when He presented them to minister unto the LORD in the priest's office;
Which the LORD commanded to be given them of the children of Israel, in the day that He anointed them,
by a statute for ever throughout their generations.

Leviticus 7:35-36

Bless God

Read the book of Galatians Hizikyah. Legalism adds to the perfect work of Christ. Christians are not under the law. To teach otherwise is false teaching.

notice how the Hebrew roots and seven day advents only use the same verses over and over. guess they had to buy a discounted price Bible with only half the content?

I guess it is just me, but I have this thing called " fear of God ", so I dare not play games with His Written Word.

No, He didn't abolish. He magnified. He showed everyone that without a doubt they couldn't accomplish it.

Not only could they not accomplish it but no one truly even understood it.

Its no oversight or mistake that the Lord Jesus nor the Apostles ever commanded Christians to rest on saturdays. That would be observing and working at a carnal commandment. The shadow and not the Truth.
