I never said that "the heart of the earth" is not having to do with His death. You still have not provided any Scripture that says that "the heart of the earth" means in the Tomb for 3 day and 3 night, when every Scripture that the disciples speak of the three day and nights only speak of what He would suffer and be killed.

No mention of the Tomb, you and many other assume "heart of the earth" means the grave or Tomb, but a simple reading of Scripture never mention anything about Him being in the Tomb 3 days and rising. Just to prove to you that it does not, all you have to do is privide the Scripture or Scriptures that Jesus taught that He would be in the Tomb or grave for 3 days then rise.

I have provide numberous Scriptures that show Jesus teaching that He would suffer from the elders, chief priest, be flogged, spit on, mocked and put to death to fulfill the Scripture in the Law and the Prophets that were written of His atoning death. Please post the Scripture that states that the sign of Jonah is speaking of the Tomb and I will repent of the teaching if you can provide the Scripture(s) that prove heart of the earth equal Tomb. I have asked that if "3 days and 3 night in the heart of the earth" does not mean dead in the tomb, what does it mean to you. Also is there any Scripture that says He will be in a sepulchure, tomb, grave, etc.? SO this also is not proof in iteself, were was He going to lie dead on the beach? You argument makes no sense. I have never read anyhing in the Scripture say that, nor anything making the 1st day (Sunday) any kind of Special day. Growing up I was told Sunday was the Lord's Days because He resurrected that day, however when I studied it for myself I found He resurrected near sundown Sabbath (7th day) and presentedHimself as THE Firstfruits to Yah "the morrow after the Sabbath", post #3 goes a little more into detail concering the Firstfruits, but Paul understood it; Honestlyt if one thiks the Feast Daysshould be celebrated or not is not my point here, but I believe they should be understood, because it's YHWH's prophecy that the Messiah fulfills! To begin with the three day labor of the Christ in the Son of man was a demonstration of the actual finished work of the Lamb of God who was already slain for as many as the father has given. Those who he has come to make into new creatures. The “heart of the earth” is a metaphor for a living suffering .Just as the phrase; “the belly of the Whale” a living suffering called hell.

The on-going problem that many expositors have is getting three days and three nights to pan out from Jesus being crucified on the day of preparation and then rising the morning after the Sabbath.

The key to finding fulfillment in those three days and nights, is understanding the following:

1). Jesus was crucified on the sixth day of the feast of unleavened bread, which was the day of preparation i.e. preparation for the Passover and Sabbath, which would take place at sunset.

2). On the 7[SUP]th[/SUP] day of the feast of unleavened bread, Israel was to do no work and hold a sacred assembly. It was the 7th day Sabbath of unleavened bread. - Deut.16:8

3). Regarding the Sabbath on the 7[SUP]th[/SUP] day of unleavened bread, the regular seven-day weekly Sabbath followed it the next day making it a special Sabbath as described in John 19:31.

Therefore, the day after Christ was crucified and beginning at sunset, there were two Sabbath’s back to back. One Sabbath to observe the 7[SUP]th[/SUP] day of the feast of unleavened bread and the second Sabbath to observe the regular weekly seven-day Sabbath.

(Note) – Each 24-hour day begins at sunset made up of 12 hours of night and 12 hours of daylight

Day 1 - On the 6[SUP]th[/SUP] day of the feast of unleavened bread, Jesus was crucified and died during the ninth hour, which was between 12pm to 3pm. Therefore, Jesus died well before sunset of the 6[SUP]th[/SUP] day of unleavened bread, which would have started day seven of the feast of unleavened bread, which was the special Sabbath. (Note) – Because Christ died several hours before sunset, the day of preparation was counted as day 1 (today you will be with me in paradise).

Night 1 – Began at sunset after Jesus was crucified and began the special Sabbath, the seven-day Sabbath of unleavened bread.

Day 2 – At around 6am sunrise took place beginning the second day of Christ’s claim of being in the heart of the earth three days and three nights.

Night 2 – Began after day 2 at sunset and brought an end to the special seventh day Sabbath of unleavened bread, which was immediately followed by the
regular seventh day weekly Sabbath.

Day 3 – At around 6am sunrise took place beginning Day 3 of Christ being in the heart of the earth, fulfilling the 3 days of Christ's claim of being in the heart of the earth.

Night 3 – Following Day 3 sunset took place at around 6pm beginning Night 3 of Christ’s claim of 3 days and 3 nights of being in the heart of the earth. Sometime prior to sunrise during night 3, Jesus’ spirit returned to his body resurrecting and now being immortal and glorified and exited the tomb. The women Mary Magdalene and others, arrived just prior to sunrise at the tomb after Christ had already resurrected.

In short, it is the lack of recognizing that after the Crucifixion beginning at sunset, there were two Sabbaths back to back, one in observance of the seventh day of unleavened bread and the other which followed the next day which was the regular seventh day Sabbath.

This is impossible if we consult Scripture. The Preperation day (the 14th) is the day before the 1st day of Unleavened Bread (the 15th);

Leviticus 23:4-8, “These are the appointed times of יהוה, set-apart gatherings which you are to proclaim at their appointed times. In the first new moon, on the fourteenth day of the new moon, between the evenings, is the Passover to יהוה. And on the fifteenth day of this new moon is the Festival of Unleavened Bread to יהוה – seven days you eat unleavened bread. On the first day you have a set-apart gathering, you do no servile work. And you shall bring an offering made by fire to יהוה for seven days. On the seventh day is a set-apart gathering, you do no servile work.”

The 1st and 7th day of Unleavened are high days.

Understand what "heart of the earth" represents or the "belly of hell", the "belly of the whale and a person will be on their way of acquiring the spiritul meaning hid from the lost .God cannot die .(a living tribulation)

As for the three days you need to read Mark 8 and 9 Jesus said "after three days" He also taught "on the third day" All of the Scriptures I have posted are what Jesus taught about His atonement for our sins, He never mentions the Tomb , not my words, those words Jesus never used and you have failed to post one Scripture where Jesus says He will be placed in a Tomb for 3 days & nights. Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong, because He poured out His soul unto death, and He was numbered with the transgressors, and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.”

Verse 9 has a referance to Him being place in a rich mans Tomb, which is fulfilled in Matthew 27:57-60

"Now when evening had come, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who himself had also become a disciple of Jesus. 58 This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be given to him. 59 When Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, 60 and laid it in his new tomb which he had hewn out of the rock; and he rolled a large stone against the door of the tomb, and departed."


And this is what Jesus taught.

Matthew 16:21 "From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life."

Matthew 17:22-23 “When they came together in Galilee, he said to them, “The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men.23 They will kill him, and on the third day he will be raised to life.” And the disciples were filled with grief.”

Matthew 20:18-19 “We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death19 and will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!”

Luke 9:22 “And he said, “The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.”

Luke 18:31-33 “Jesus took the Twelve aside and told them, “We are going up to Jerusalem, and everything that is written by the prophets about the Son of Man will be fulfilled.32 He will be delivered over to the Gentiles. They will mock him, insult him and spit on him;33 they will flog him and kill him. On the third day he will rise again.”

His payment for our sins is not limited to the cross or the Tomb, the 3 days and 3 night are all He suffered at the hands of the Jews and Gentiles, read Isaiah 53. Plus the cross and the Tomb, again please post the Scriptures that Jesus teaches that He will be in the Tomb 3 days and nights.

After further study at His arrest here what Jesus says.

Matthew 26: 56 “But all this was done that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.”

Mark 14:49 “I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and you did not seize Me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled.”

Fulfill what Scriptures? All the spoke of His suffering for our sins. There is not one Scpiture in the OT that speak og Jesus being in the Tomb for 3 days and nights. Isaish prophesies of His suffering, so does David in Psalm 22. Jesus said He would suffer all that was written about Him in the Law and the Prophets and the Psalms in Luke 24:44

“Then He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.”

What did they teach about His atonement? That He would suffer, not that the Tomb was it, it was a part of the days He would suffer for our sins.

Hebrew scholars agree that the expression “three days and three nights” in Jonah 1:17
refers to a 72-hour period. The division of the day and night was clearly established in
the very first book of the Bible: “… and God divided the light from the darkness.

Jesus Christ died in a.d. 31. The Passover that year fell on Wednesday, April 25
(not a Friday).

Because God’s days begin and end at sunset, the actual Passover ceremony that Jesus
observed with His disciples occurred Tuesday night—the beginning of the 14th day of
the first month on the Hebrew calendar.

On Tuesday afternoon, the disciples had asked Jesus about where to make
preparations for the service (Matthew 26:17).

That night, during the ceremony, Jesus changed the symbols, explaining that
He was now that Passover sacrifice (Matthew 26:26-28).

After that Passover service, they went out into the Mount of Olives (verse 30).
Christ spent much of the night praying while His disciples slept (verses 36-45).

Early Wednesday morning, while it was still dark (John 18:3), Judas came with the
multitude to arrest Christ (Matt 26:47-50). The crucifixion occurred later that same day.

At the “ninth hour” of the 14th, Jesus cried out (Matt27:46-50; Mark15:34-37; Luke23:44-46).
This would have been at 3 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon. That night, at sunset, marked the beginning
of the first day of Unleavened Bread—one of God’s holy days, as outlined in Leviticus 23-Num28:16-17

The weekly Sabbath, of course, is on Saturday. But the first day of Unleavened Bread
was the first of seven annual sabbaths instituted by God. (see Leviticus 16:31; 23:24, 26-32, 39).

Now follow this course of events closely.
In John 19:30, Jesus bowed His head and said, “It is finished.”

Notice the very next verse: “The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies
should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,)
besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away” (verse 31).

The preparation day was actually before a sabbath that was a “high day”—an annual holy day
“this preparation” prior to “the sabbath” (Matthew 27:62; Mark 15:42; Luke 23:54) was not friday.

John 19:32-42 explain what happened between Christ’s death and His burial. Notice 42: “There laid
they Jesus therefore because of the Jews’ preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand.”

They buried Him late Wednesday afternoon, before sunset, because, according to Jewish customs,
all dead bodies had to be buried before the Sabbath, whether weekly or annual.

So Christ died on the afternoon of the 14th at 3 p.m. He was buried later that afternoon before sunset.
From that point, all we have to do is count three days and three nights to know when He was resurrected.

Going back to the Gospel account in Matthew to continue following the course of events.

“Now the next day [after the Passover], that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests
and Pharisees came together unto Pilate, Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was
yet alive, After three days I will rise again” (Matthew 27:62-63). Even these deceived Jews knew what
Christ said! After three days and three nights—not one day and two nights—“I will rise again”!


So Pilate set a watch on the sepulcher for three days and nights. The story continues in the first verse
of the next chapter. “In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week,
came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre” (Matthew 28:1).

The King James, along with just about every other Bible version, translates the first part of
this verse, “In the end of the sabbath” or “after the sabbath.” But if you study the Greek text,
the word for sabbath is actually plural! “After the sabbaths,” it should read.

Why is this significant?

So Jesus, was crucified on a Wednesday afternoon and buried later that evening, before sunset.
The next day, Thursday, was an annual sabbath. The day after that, was preparation day for the
regular weekly Sabbath. Matthew refers to sabbaths, plural, is because there were two sabbaths
that week! When Matthew says Mary came early Sunday morning, before dawn, after one of
the sabbaths, he is referring to the weekly Sabbath.

One more sequence of events that provides additional support for the 72-hour time frame and
the fact that there were two “sabbaths” this week. Mark 16:1 says Mary Magdalene and her
companions bought spices “when the sabbath was past.” They were planning to prepare these
ointments and spices so that they might anoint the body of Jesus.

Yet Luke 23:56 says they prepared these spices and then rested on the weekly Sabbath day.
Compare these two texts carefully,Christ inspired four different Gospel accounts to be written.

When Mary approached the tomb early Sunday morning, before sunrise, an angel nearby exclaimed,
“He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay” (Matthew 28:6).

“Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week .…” Notice carefully though:
It doesn’t say He “did rise” or “rose on the first day.” It says He was risen. He had done so,
as the Scriptures so clearly show, on late Saturday afternoon.

He had already risen—the day before, just prior to sunset at the end of the weekly Sabbath.
His death, burial and resurrection happened precisely the way He prophesied it would happen.

That expression—was risen—is the sole basis for the idea that Christ
was resurrected on Sunday morning—yet it says nothing of the sort!

Why does it matter? Because Jesus Christ staked His claim to being your Savior
on the fact that He would remain in the grave for three full days and nights.

When it comes to the Easter sunrise service, however, there is no scriptural testimony to observe
that man-made holiday. Encyclopedias point out, the Easter tradition for Christians began with
“the words of the ancient Nicene Creed”—not with the Bible.The tradition actually has its roots
in paganism, following customs that began long before Christ ever lived.

The Catholic Encyclopedia frankly admits that “the apostolic fathers do not mention it”

Decree issued confirms start of Christs ministry date

Jesus Christ died in a.d. 31. The Passover that year fell on Wednesday, April 25.
About the decree, it was 49 years. There were four decrees...

Cyrus issued a decree in 538BC (II Chron 36:22-23 and Ezra 1:1-4)
Darius issued a decree in 520BC (Ezra 6:1, 6-12)
Artaxerxes Longimanus in 457BC (Ezra 7:12-26)
Artaxerxes Longimanus in 444BC (Neh 2:1-8)

Four decrees, which one is the one to count from?

Dan 9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment
to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks,
and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall,
even in troublous times.

There will be 7 weeks plus 62 weeks = 69 weeks. That is 483 years (Num 14:34 and Ezek 4:6).
So let's add 483 years to each decree and see what works out...


1st decree: 538BC + 483 years = 55BC. This doesn't work because Christ
would not be born for another 51 years.

2nd decree: 520BC + 483 years = 37BC. Again, no good, Christ's birth
is still 33 years in the future.

3rd decree: 457BC + 483 years = 27AD. Christ's formal, 3-1/2 year ministry
began in 27AD culminating in His crucifixion in 31AD. We have a winner.

4th decree: 444BC + 483 years = 40AD. Christ's death, burial and resurrection was
9 years in the past and the destruction of the Temple was ~30 years in the future. No dice.

So, the decree in 457BC brings us to 27AD for the beginning of the ministry of Christ,
the first 3-1/2 years exactly as the prophecy in Dan 9 predicts.

There will be 7 weeks plus 62 weeks = 69 weeks.
That is 483 years (Num 14:34 and Ezek 4:6).

Wave-sheaf offering

Leviticus 23 explains all of God’s festivals proclaimed holy convocations,
Beginning verse 9, we find instructions for the wave-sheaf offering.

The Israelites were not allowed to harvest any of the early grain crop until this day.
Then, on the day following the weekly Sabbath, in a solemn ceremony of
the Levitical priesthood,The sheaf was then brought to the priest.

The priest solemnly waved it before the Eternal to be accepted for them.
This event always occurred during the Days of Unleavened Bread.

This pictures the resurrected Christ ascending to heaven to be accepted by
His Father as the very first human to be actually born of God in this fashion.

-the firstfruit of the first harvest of souls!

By comparing John 20:17 with Matthew 28:9, you will see that Christ presented
Himself before the Father on the morning after His resurrection the previous even.
(1 Corinthians 15:20, 23; Romans 8:29; Colossians 1:15, 18).


This fulfillment of the wavesheaf offering actually occurred on Sunday,
the morrow after the Sabbath during the Days of Unleavened Bread.
But this does not tell us to keep sunday as A resurection celebration though.

The word Pentecost is a Greek word, used in the New Testament, but not in the Old.
It signifies “fiftieth (day). Old Testament this feast is called “feast of firstfruits,”
and “feast of weeks.” A Holy convocation apostles keep after Christ had risen.

Pentecost pictures the first part of the spiritual harvest— the calling out of the Church
the called-out ones—which, for the New Testament dispensation, began on Pentecost,
On that day the Holy Spirit came to dwell within flesh, as prophesied by Joel.

On the 50th day (Pentecost) in Old Testament times, two “wave loaves” (Lev 23:17, 20
were brought out of the habitations of the congregation as [the firstfruits unto the Lord].

Just so the New Testament Church was gathered out of this world as the firstfruits
of His salvation, in fulfillment of the meaning of the wave loaves.

And just as the wave sheaf was lifted up into the air and waved, symbolizing Christ’s
trip to heaven and return, so the wave loaves were lifted up and waved, symbolizing
that we too shall for a moment leave this solid Earth when we ascend to meet in the air
(1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)

before we return with Him to stand on the Mount of Olives as
He begins His millennial rule on earth (Acts 1:11; Zechariah 14:3-4).

17Ye shall bring out of your habitations [two] wave loaves of two tenth deals:
they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven;
they are the firstfruits unto the Lord.

-one of the loaves here is for each of us, meaning for a future acceptence by God.
