Wow! That has to be the most prideful arrogant post I've ever read here!

When I blatantly caught him in a lie, regarding Scripture, and showed him the word he said didn't exist in Scripture in fact did, and he was so bursting with pride as to not admit his sin, I thought that was beyond arrogant.

But imagine thinking he is so perfect that he is able to cast stones at others!!
This is a truly sick and twisted individual.
Especially since JESUS made that STATEMENT, because HE KNOW NOBODY WAS WITHOUT SIN.

It is obvious that you reject what John teaches about those who say they have no sin. That rejection is sin.
You have deceived yourself. That to is sin.
If your misinterpretation of 1 John 1:8 is correct, then verses 7 and 9 are lies.
They say that all your sin can be washed away by the blood of Christ.

John is describing the "walks" of two different kinds of men.
Some walk in the light, where they can say all their sin is gone, and others walk in the darkness where it would be a lie to say they have no sin.

Surely you believe that baptism in Jesus' name is for the remission of past sins, right?
Can't you say "I have no sin" when walking out of the water?
It is up to us to remain in the light, where there is no sin...as the light is God.
A true "turn from sin" will initiate that walk.

To be fair PJW does not claim to not have sinned he witnesses that he does not sin since being saved.

Which none of us here can prove otherwise..
Salvation won't be assured till after the final judgement.
Perhaps your misconception is the root cause of all this "can't lose salvation" discussion to begin with.

I have not sinned since my repentance from sin.
Thanks to the power of God and His amazing grace.

I know what he claims. The key he is claims. The Scripture proves he is untruthful. I stand by my statement.
Do you suppose Paul was abetting a lie when he wrote..."Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame." (1 Cor 15:34)
Was Peter in on the alleged deception when he wrote..."
Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; " (1 Peter 4:1)

One suggestion brother. After you place someone on ignore you can pm your friends or just open post a request not to quote the person you ignored. I believe that may help you not see the garbage you do not want to see .
I also suggest just do let the Delta Bravo occupy any space in your mind.

I'm pretty sure only the flesh gets offended. Maybe some people make God in their own image, God hates what I hate.
It seems that God was pretty "offended" by the Israelites escaping from Egypt, who gave up faith for sin.
Only two entered the promised land.

Yeh he wouldn't exactly say it, if it was impossible to be free from sin.

But those who are so full of sin, will never believe you can be free of sin, because that makes them look extra bad. They want everyone to wallow in sin like they do.
If people want to live without offending God, God will, no, has provided a way to accomplish it.
The cost is high.
You must give up your current life in order to get a new life that lasts forever.
Too many want to keep their current life in spite of the eventual cost.

Heres an interesting article, it makes one think!!

Let us begin with a church history exam question. Cardinal Robert Bellarmine (1542–1621) was a figure not to be taken lightly. He was Pope Clement VIII’s personal theologian and one of the most able figures in the Counter-Reformation movement within sixteenth-century Roman Catholicism. On one occasion, he wrote: “The greatest of all Protestant heresies is _______ .” Complete, explain, and discuss Bellarmine’s statement.

How would you answer? What is the greatest of all Protestant heresies? Perhaps justification by faith? Perhaps Scripture alone, or one of the other Reformation watchwords?

Those answers make logical sense. But none of them completes Bellarmine’s sentence. What he wrote was: “The greatest of all Protestant heresies is assurance.”

It just goes to show! No wonder the christian assurance is always under attack.

Full article here:

You must have forgotten to include the word "your" before "church's history".
That is not "my" church.

My proposition is well supported in the bible. You just made no counterpoint. It is your logic which is a poor excuse.

Christian, a real saved by the blood of Christ person, does not "...keep committing sin."
Saved are not sinless, they sin less.
Now it is you that is telling me that saved Christian needs holiness, inferring that we are not yet in sinless perfect estate.
I have edited your post so I can reply to it.
If I have done so improperly, let me know.

Salvation won't be assured till after the final judgement.
No Christian is "saved" yet.
Those who commit sin will hear "Depart from me ye that work iniquity".
It doesn't matter if you commit one sin or a hundred, sinners are not in Christ.
They walk after the flesh, instead of after the Spirit.
They walk in darkness instead of in the light...which is God.

You said God gets offended....You should have a verse to back that up...we are all waiting for book, chapter and verse that states that God gets offended.....
(sarcasm alert)
I will need to hear the recording of my voice saying those words, before I can admit or deny such an incident ever happened.
If you keep lying about me I will put you on ignore!
(Sarcasm alert is over)

Do you see how silly your semantic argument is?
Offend has too many synonyms to write during a 5 minute edit session.
Would you agree that "grieving the Holy Spirit" would count as "offending God"?
Psalm 119:158
I beheld the transgressors, and was grieved; because they kept not thy word.
Ephesians 4:30
And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

Hebrews 3:10

Like we believe that.......NOT.....
I wouldn't expect you to believe it.
You probably don't even think God hates sin.
It is written..."The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity. (Psalm 5:5)
1 Peter 3:12
For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

Perfect description of the difference between OT and NT.
They tried to be righteous by their own works.
We can, by Christ in us, actually do the works necessary for righteousness and for salvation.

I would posit that those who serve sin are not serving God.
Is that really accurate that they tried to be righteous by their own works? Was it not God who wrote the commandments on tablets of stone? And gave Moses wisdom to judge and write instruction? They were commanded to follow. But, they failed. So blood sacrifices were instituted for covering of those failures.

Sacrifices are about an exchange of innocence for evil. So they understood that they could not be righteous by law or works.

I understood just fine and neither said nor implied what you stated.....by the way.....your starting to sound just like someone else.....seems eerily familiar............just saying......verbiage, habit and particular phrases will eventually bleed to the top....so.........
This is what I wrote earlier..."Is love the motive for any sin?
No sin is committed in love, especially love for God. "
Do you agree?
Point was, folks who still commit sin do it for themselves instead of for the glory of God.
Do you agree?

Wow how far off can you be??

I was hoping you'd just admit that you were absolutely dead wrong about your assertion that 'fall short' in Romans 3:23 is past tense - now that I showed you that it definitely is not - but instead you come back at me with this??

And you're the supposedly 'sinless' one here, our 'better'??

Cone on man. You make it look like you haven't even read Romans at all, where previously i was only under the impression that you merely have not comprehended it...
You stated that all men commit sin, that must include Jesus.
If you disagree now, then you should also realize that those who are in Christ are also free of sin.

'grieving' is not the same as 'taking offense' - there is a reason that many words exist to express similar sentiments; it is because those sentiments are similar but not identical.

That said, i do understand the desire to argue about words rather than admit fault ((because that's in my flesh too)). i call it sin, though i reckon you would certainly choose a different word that's perhaps more descriptive but probably lacks any connotation of error.

Might want to check yourself.
You posted..."All have sinned and continue to fall short of the Lord".
If that were now true, then Jesus was a sinner.
Time to join the NT, wherein we can kill the old man and be reborn of Godly seed that cannot bear evil fruit.

1 John 1:10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
Did you say you have not sinned?
All I did was show you the truth about what the scripture actually said when you changed the words, and for that you accused me of making God a liar. Do you mean to change this word also?
I was one of the worst sinners, before I availed myself of God's grace and His gifts of repentance and baptism.

Just quoting Romans 3:23 dude. Take it up with the Holy Spirit that breathed the words.

Srsly, you think Everlasting God is lumped in with that statement?? Please, go read all of Romans 5 or 6 times, and then get back to us.

You radically misunderstood me again. For the moment i'll assume it's unintentional.

The sting of death is sin ((1 Cor 15:56)) - striving against sin is futile unless you can defeat death - and if you can, then it is death that the tip of the sword should be pointed toward, with the strong of the sword closing the line through which sin arcs. This is the great work if God in coming as Messiah and swallowing up the grave on His cross. Without this hew, striving against sin - swatting the blade of death - is worthless, only prolonging the inevitable.

This is righteousness according to keeping the law, as though it can be achieved in such a way.

If you take this again as an excuse to sin, you've again misunderstood me as much as if you think I would advise you to drop your guard and let your head be chopped off as long as you can get in one food sword thrust.
Perhaps it is your use of such odd "pictures" that throws me?
Jesus defeated sin while in the flesh.
Now that we can be "immersed" into Jesus, we can take part in that victory.
We can live forever.
