it's just you guys deleting some of the text when you quote, but either not deleting all the quote tags, or accidentally deleting an
that you shouldn't have, like this -

notice that the "QUOTE=Bill" tag is sitting there, unused. that's the clue about what happened.

if i put two end-quote tags, it will look show Bill quoting Kenneth quoting something, like this:

it's not a conspiracy or a broken forum. it's just accidentally including or excluding some of the formatting commands.
use the 'preview post' utility from the advanced posting menu to see if what you're going to quote will show up right, and if not, add or remove [/QUOTE tags or
... said:
tags as you need to.

What's it like to stand up and preach to a congregation that all believes they've attained perfection, if the preacher thinks he's perfect too, and agrees that everyone he is talking to is perfect?

Does he just pat everyone on the back and then pass the plate?

You would have to chunk like 85 to 90% of the instruction found in the N.T.......instead of singing AMAZING GRACE they would be singing HOW GREAT I ART.........

Day one, eh.
Was a new covenant unnecessary?
Thanks be to God, Jesus came and conquered sin while in the flesh.
Having supplied a way to live without sin anymore, He did away with all the accoutrements of the OT.
No longer a need for yearly sacrificial atonements for sin, because men didn't have to sin anymore.
No more priesthood to talk to God for us, because we can go right to the source.
No more dietary laws, because Jews and Gentiles are the same.
No more exclusion laws, because the Jews were no better than anyone else.
No more temple, because we are the temple.

Jesus said no man can serve two masters. (Matt 6:24)
He also said that whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. (John 8:34)
If "imperfect" men serve sin, they don't serve God.
You have no weight or credibility here.....you promote yourself, sinless perfectionist rigmarole and have proven openly that you are not all that and a bag of righteous chips......

No need to waste any more time on your drivel......

John states it in 1 John 3:9.
It is written..."Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God." (1 John 3:9)
He says it again in 1 John 5:18..."
We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not."
Peter alludes to it in 1 Peter 4:1..."
Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;"
Our "suffering with Christ" happens when we are crucified with Him...before being "raised with Him to walk in newness of life". (Rom 6:6)
Maybe one of these days you will figure out the truth concerning the above.......until then....good luck with your sinless perfectionism......

When you reach the point of "Godly sorrow" for your sins, it will "work repentance". (2 cor 7:10)
I pray you don't wait too long.

When you reach the point of actually understanding the truth you might open your eyes......highly unlikely though.....

1 Corinthians 3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
3:2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
3:3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
3:4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?

The Corinth Believers were called saints, saved yet some of them were still carnal, walking as men. The carnality includes envy, strife and division, they still sin yet saved by the grace of God. They weren't sinless perfect.
AMEN FRED....another believer who gets it..........

I do reject it.
Why should I need to "pay" for the sins of others?
I could find no evidence in your sitings that inferred Adam's sin being cast onto us.

Perhaps you will elaborate....(in another thread)?

Romans 6:23 (HCSB)
[SUP]23 [/SUP] For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 5:14 (CSBBible)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] Nevertheless, death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who did not sin in the likeness of Adam's transgression. He is a type of the Coming One.

Romans 8:3 (GWT)
[SUP]3 [/SUP] It is impossible to do what God's standards demand because of the weakness our human nature has. But God sent his Son to have a human nature as sinners have and to pay for sin. That way God condemned sin in our corrupt nature.

In the Apocrypha it says:

2 Esdras 7:118 (NRSV)
[SUP]118 [/SUP] O Adam, what have you done? For though it was you who sinned, the fall was not yours alone, but ours also who are your descendants.

Who can argue with the wisest man ever born, King Solomon, the author of Proverbs.

"Who can say, "I have kept my heart pure; I am clean and without sin"?" Proverbs20:9

But according to you they won't matter.
So what is the big deal?
You aren't "throwing stones", are you?
Of course not....but lest we forget...JESUS did point out the hypocrisy of the Pharisees and their sinless perfectionist fingers who in self righteousness lifted themselves above all of those dang sinners who were around them....

John was addressing two very different kinds of walk, in 1 John 1.
The folks walking in darkness cannot say "I have no sin".
The folks walking in the light, however, can say it because all their sins have been washed away by the blood of Christ Jesus.
After that "cleansing", only a false repentance would accommodate more sin.
UMMMMMMM...not hardly.....try again...this time without bias and your eyes open.

Now even though this is to Dcon, and am sure he will have a great answer, I have one too. If all your sins are washed away, and you no longer need washing, why does the scripture say we are washed by the water of the Word?
AMEN...and why did JESUS say they were clean but need their feet washed......I am sure he will come back with something flippant....

Now you have lost me.

Mind you that’s not difficult
evening, Bill, how are you?

the improper quote feature becomes a cascading thing, once one poster gets it wrong.

every 'reply with quote' begins with this symbol [ then the word QUOTE then the user name and a number and the ].
they all end with [ / QUOTE ] i separated them so it wouldn't form a quote box, but if we want to do that,

we can do it easily! :)
when i quoted your post, i cleaned up everything but the quote box with your user name and the number in it, and the ending quote box.
that should all be clear as mud now. lol
if you try it out it should make much more sense. :)

1 John 5:16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
Yet there is a sin not unto death...

AMEN.....the sinless perfectionist has no legs to stand on....scripture after scripture proves him false and his message contrary.....

Not lose salvation, give it up. Some believe they have salvation but there is no proof in their life. The Bible says you will know a tree by its fruit. If there is no fruit such as the fig tree then they will be cursed just as the fig tree.
Bolded = false

Saved believers can also have works of wood, hay and stubble which get burnt to a crisp and yet they are saved

The Corinthian fornicator SAVED, but cut lose for the destruction of the flesh yet SPIRIT saved in day of CHRIST

The prodigal squandered his inheritance through riotous living and ended up with the pigs yet still a son through the whole process, received, given a robe and ring

AND...lest we forget...ONE who has believed ALREADY has done the works of the Heavenly Father (believed on the one who was sent)
