Braindead - The funniest show I have watched in years
Designated survivor - It is much better than house of cards
Black Adder - Just brilliant
Doctor Who - Life wouldn't be the same without it
Allie McBeal - Because it reminds me about good old times.

And the list stops there.

Oh my, Versailles! I liked it muchly (I have watched it twice :D), partially because it is historical and monarchical, and very lushly photographed, though it was also very graphic  George Blagden is great in that. It was also fictionalized quite a bit... Demi, have you seen The White Queen ten part series? I also saw The Crown recently. It was quite well done, and fairly historically factual.

Zero... ya gotta watch Suits :D

This Is Us is also very well done :)

My daughter and I started watching Stranger Things last week. Winona is wonderfully hilarious in it :) Sitting in a cubbyhole, talking to a ball of Christmas lights: "Are you alive?" heehee. It seems a bit of a throw back, but I guess it is supposed to be in the 80's? I read that the creators (the Duffer Brothers) admitted that they were inspired by the anime Elfen Lied, which is pretty disturbing in a number of ways and very violent.

Preacher was interesting, also based in manga. I am not sure where I am in that show

I recently watched Downton Abbey again :) Yeah, yeah, old :p

I would like to see more of Vikings...

Help me out here. How can a Christian think it's okay to watch Game of Thrones and Versailles?

The same way I watch Bruce Jenner, Donald Trump, and real life wars and genocides occurring.

It's fiction and censored though, so it's not nearly as traumatizing, and I feel more in control because I actively choose to subject myself to it.

You should watch it, there are dragons AND zombies.

You watch Bruce Jenner, and Donald Trump naked and having sex????
Thanks for the mental image. :p

I don't really watch TV shows. I do watch The Simpsons and Family Guy a lot.

The last "recent" show I watched was Dexter. Boy, did I love that show.

Gotham and Once Upon a Time are the only current shows I really keep up with at the moment, but I also watch a lot of Impractical Jokers on YouTube. Love that show lol. Roseanne, Everybody Loves Raymond and 2 Broke Girls are good too.

I am happy some people live by high standards. It shows integrity and moral.

Well. This is the singles forum, and many of us enjoy watching TV as an escape from the real world of loneliness and rejection. And perhaps some of us haven't come so far in the walk with Christ that we have reached the higher moral standards.

Can we please be allowed to share our guilty pleasures without being judged?

Yes you are right there is so much filth out there that is now mainstream.

And because it's mainstream that makes it somewhat ok? I wonder how many Game of Thrones fans are on this site?

Things are made to directly affect us emotionally, and shock us, and engage with the carnal mind.

Ask a GoT fan why did you enjoy it, they won't say, well all the graphic violence and sex scenes, they will make something up. I know that because I've asked multiple people. It allows them to watch filth or pornographic material without saying they watch such things 'so to say'.

Any House of Cards fans? Oh, the room has gone quiet. Supply and demand.

Dexter (TV Series 2006–2013) - IMDb

How is it that Christians can watch filth like this?????
What's the last "Decent" show you've watched?

Its amazing how people judge others because of a show and call themselves christian isn't it.

It's amazing that people who call themselves by Christ's name willingly watch pornographic filth, and then defend it! The church is a JOKE.

The struggle with viewing pornography I can understand. I can not, and will not, accept the willing participation in it, and defense of it by someone who claims to be a Christian.

You are right. There is a lot of immorality in the entertainment industry. But this thread is not about that discussion. It is just a thread where we can share what we watch. End of discussion.

I think will go back to watch some documentaries about war and conspiracies or something. I will close my eyes if I see something inappropriate and I promise not to laugh. Seriously.

I've been a Christian for 31 years. 31 years of longing and seeking after God's holiness and righteousness. And who do I have to fellowship with and be encouraged by but other Christians who do not seek after Him. The church is a JOKE. It's time to separate ourselves from the church of the world.
