Did Jesus abolish the law? Should we keep the commandments?

Many Christians say that Jesus has abolished the law and therefore they don't want to keep the commandments. But I can't agree with that. I think God has always been the same and He doesn't change. So why should his commandments change? I have read an interesting article on that topic which explains really well that Jesus never tought us to that we shouldn't keep the commandments anymore. It is all based on Bible verses. So I wonder if anyone can really argue against it?

7. The Last Great Day – satan is loosed and swiftly destroyed, the Kingdom of YHWH reigns forever

Of course, that's it in a nutshell. But -- as Paul says -- the Gospel upholds the Law (the Ten Commandments). And the Law is God's moral and spiritual standard in both the Old And the New Covenants. Those who walk in the Spirit fulfil the righteousness of the Law.

Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good... For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin... God never changes, but He can change His commandments at any time. Remember that in the O.T. men could have more than one wife? See the difference between these two covenants (O.T. and N. T.)?

The "law" that Jesus did abolish, is what's known as the "Mishnah", as well as the "Gemara", aka "Talmud."
The "law" Jesus did not abolish, is the Torah, the Pentateuch, and the Tanakh. Which would the remainder of the O.T. Or, more specifically, the 34 remaining books after the Torah.

You have the the right answer snoozy. I hate to be nit picky, but I can see how that religious spirit has those tendrils of unbelief that want to ensnare the truth, and keep us from total freedom.

Israel was given the promise of law written on the heart.

We have a greater covenant which is the will of inheriting all that Jesus is. And that is an entire new creation. A new being, a new heart.

One of life. We have the down payment through Holy Spirit, but as we see Him, we become more and more newly creating in His image.

Jesus abolished the Law as such for the condemnation of Christians (Rom 3) and removed us from being 'under the Law' before God. But He did not abolish the eternal principles of the law as a way of righteousness, He distinguished the eternal principles of behaviour from the temporary injunctions, such as for Israel to observe the Sabbath.

We must distinguish the temporary ones from the eternal ones. the law of the Sabbath was to DISTINGUISH Israel as a nation. Jesus regularly quoted the eternal ones and ignored the temporary. At the time when it was given the law of the Sabbath provided a rest day for slaves that couldn't be got round. But Jesus totally ignored it when listing commands in His teaching
