No, I'm not leaving Christ. The church is in crisis right now. There are no true meetings of the saints. The church has been overrun by unbelievers. How do you fellowship with someone who isn't like you and wants to live for and please God and only gives lip service to the grace of God? You can't of course. And I'm not expected to.
the church is and has been in crisis, because it does not have the power of God. Because most of the church has fallen to a false gospel. And are not a church at all.

Then people wonder why there is no victory over sin, and instead of lookin got the reason behind it, they blame the person, or the sin.

Well the fun part is condemning other's sins, finding excuses for sins of self....making things a sin that isn't....the list goes on
we do not do it (or I did not do it) out of fun, I did it as a means of hoping they would stop their sin and come to God. I thought I was Gods spokeman, and I was doing what God wanted. Much Like paul did when he was a Pharisee, only I di d not kill people who did not listen to me..

Do all people that say sinning is wrong do this? Or do some say their sins and other believers sins are all wrong.

Jesus through paul said all hae sinned and fall short.

we are all sinners. It is not us against them, it is us with them all looking (hopefully) for the hope which can only be found in christ.

Is this church? Did She sin against you?

Calling a persons salvation in question is judging people..
the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.

folks dont mind showing up to church late but go to the movies early to make sure not to miss anything.
thank God if u got a church u can go to! many dont!

we can get timeoff from work for vacation. but we cant get any timeoff to go soul-winning.

we got no time to pray or go soul-winning but we got plenty of time to spend on ourselves.

the spirit really is willing but the flesh is weak.

That was a hard few pages to walk through, I felt like i was back in church and listening to my dad tell people they need to stop sin, and maybe God will save them, and all this stuff, while I watched my dad at home commit many sins.. It was horrific. We need to keep focus on our own sins, and have other accountability people to help us by watching us and be open when they tell us they see something, and stop worrying about other people. I do not know about others. But I have a hard enough time worrying about my own sin and the lives of the people I help disciple than worrying about what other people do. I need to worry about bringing them to christ, not their sins, God wil take care of their sins if they come to him.

I would say this, If we woke up face to face with God, all of our sins would come screaming to the surface, this holier than though attitude would stop immediately. Because we would all see how filthy we are. When compared to the infinite glory of our savior.

As the prophet said when he came in gods presence, woe is me for aI am a man of unclean lips. We all need to view ourselves in Gods eyes. Not the law (it can not show us how sinful we are just Thats we have sinned) and not comparing ourselves to others.

When we do this, we will be like paul in romans 7, who saw ALL his sin, and his struggle against it.

It has to be the work of Holy Spirit in the believer.

Thats the problem again with religion. It deals only with outward acts, and not the heart. The heart is the problem.

Jesus doesn't condemn. He delivers. And those in sin do not have a great self image. They are wanting something better.

So, what do we have to offer? A club? Rules?

A religious person with a sinful heart has to be to be the most miserable person alive.

EG, your post about your father touched my heart.

I have been watching it since the beginning and there has not been any actual porn in it.
Its easy to judge if u dont watch it. U make urself look like a fool towards us who watch it and see what goes on.
I think the real issue here is this. If Jesus came by for an unannounced visit and you were watching this show or any other cable programming and the scene had soft same sex or hetero nudity, what would you do?

I would turn it off or get up and go to him and focus on him and what he has to say and why he visited.
Thats what I would do

That would be the last thing on my mind, My sinful self would come to mind and I would fall down as dead (just like all the people did even when an angel came)

Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor? -James 4:11-12

And as they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.” - John 8:7

This whole hoopla started because someone decided to start a simple what's your favorite TV show thread. This is why we can't have nice things. Not to myself never to start a "who are your favorite musical artists" thread.

What do you think would have happened if Jesus had this attitude with Judas Iscariot?

It is not my place to judge people on how the life their lives...
I would agree and especially on a chat board, but there is something Joe fizz has done and others have done here that needs to be addressed.

This attitude of the church today is that not anyone in my church, no fellow believer or even someone I call a Pastor can tell me how to live my life is not found in the Bible anywhere. Joe seems to be suggesting personal convictions are personal convictions and it is not up to anyone but Jesus to address that.

James 5:19-20

[SUP]19 [/SUP]My brethren, if any among you strays from the truth and one turns him back, [SUP]20 [/SUP]let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.

Personal convictions are personal until they impact someone else in the church or in your life. As brothers and sisters we should not stick our nose in someone business, but if me and my wife are confided in by another sister, who says her husband is watching porn and it is his personal conviction that it is perfectly ok and will not stop after his wife pleads and implores him to and his wife has been devastated, betrayed and humiliated, by his watching porn. Then me and my wife not only have the responsibility, but the mandate to go to the brother and attmept to restore him. If he fails to comply then Matt 18 church discipline must be engaged.

The problem today is that we have let grace take away correction, reproof and rebuke from people that need might need it.

Jesus said feed my sheep, not fight my sheep.

By condemning and labelling people as Christian or not is not giving you a stronger case.

John said we should pray for our fallen brothers and sisters in Christ for them to turn back to God.
James said we should confess our sin one to another. I want to be clear, that I agree with you completely on the bold above.

I do not believe however that we remain silent with what 1 John calls children and young men. We are mandated not to go seek fault, but when a professed Christian is living in blatant sin, it is our job to show them a better way and always done in truth and perfect love.

If they refuse, Matt 18 comes into affect

Of course I do. That's why I like to talk to the church. I can relate to them. I want to build up the body of Christ. Unbelievers, on the other hand, do not listen and simply resist you to the bloody end and make excuses for their sin and love to play the 'what about you?' card. There are those with the spiritual gift of bringing them into the body of Christ. I'm not one of them. That's why I no longer talk to unbelievers.
I would remind you that spiritual growth and personal discipleship is lacking in the church today. Many times, what we might discern to be unbelieving is really a very immature spiritual kid.

I am not deceived just as I saw through peter's ruse,I see through yours, you profess to be a christian yet condemn your fellowman, seeking for your fellowman to fall, and profess a loseable salvation, yet this is not true for it makes Jesus a liar, and you claim we are not christians yet you can't fathom what that entails,it's not all ceremonies kid,it's about "Being humble with God/Jesus" and doing our best for him despite our sins and unworthiness, this is what you cannot accept for you seek our repentance but the word stings you,for so long as you judge us,you think you can't be judged, that is pure folly, there is no sin that man, woman,or child that can be hidden from God that he will not make known to all,you can keep this "game"going or you can be "real" with God/Jesus,it's an easy thing to point fingers at others while not realizing that fingers point back to you as well.
Joe you are doing now, exactly what you accuse him of doing and in your flesh.
