I've been thinking on this awhile,so far due to working in a paper factory currently,I now have around a year's experience working with factory machines, but I am curious about opinions of other jobs people think I would be better at or like more.
Because right now my job I get a little over 8 dollars an hour,2 double shift days,7 hours per shift plus overtime,28 hours a week, roughly about 375 dollars every 2 weeks, and I'd really like to find something at least that pays a little more, and particularly that I can learn "a trade" from, all this being said, what job from your overall observation of my traits do you think I would be better suited for or perhaps like more in your opinion?
Traits don't predict future jobs half as much as skill set. (The only thing I can predict about traits is, if you like to do physical work, you'd hate desk work.)

What skill sets do you have? (And "working with factory machines" is too vague. Name the machine, or at least give some concept of what it does. AND what you do with it, since I don't know if you mean you can run a machine or fix machines.)

As far as learning a trade? If you're talking tradesmen jobs, you have to go to school to learn them.

Glad someone else understands that college isn't as great as people make it out to be,yeah it's a money taker and now with that fraternity junk on the rise,no thank you,I chose to not go to college to spend time with my family I never got to be around be anymore people died in my family and don't regret that decision because through that family I was lead to God,so I think I'll just try a career that doesn't require the extra piece of paper that cost thousands of dollars just to even have a possibility to get.
Getting a college education is not for everybody, but it also doesn't have to cost a lot of money if you apply for grants and scholarships. I got my degree in accounting and only have to pay back $4,000. For a lot of people it helps narrow down some options and help people figure out what it is people are good at. What bothers me, is when people say a degree doesn't matter when I worked my tail end off to get it when so many people said I wasn't smart enough

College anymore is nothing but a money pit that no longer guarantees anything.

The real choice to make is if you are money focused (not in a bad way), or if you want a job you'll enjoy. Few people find jobs that provide both.
Funny. Four siblings graduated from college. Two make in the upper 5 figure range. The other two make 6 figures. My niece went to college. She's about 30 and is making 6 figures. Oh, and she takes the baby to work with her. She makes less than her husband.

I wish someone had explained that to me when I was still young...

I went to college and knew many people, only one was in a sorority. Future Phys. Ed. teachers. The sorority had business meeting and career planning. lol

electrician, hvac tech, plumbing...dont require degrees and the salaries are respectable enough to allow you to support yourself. if you can master some of these technical skills you can even run your own business.
Requires 1 or more years of school to get certified. Also, expect arthritis or worse by the time you hit 40.

Get serious about writing Christian music and sell it to the singers... Or write for them... saw you like to do that in your profile. Don't quit your day job until it takes off. Doing what you like and working for God at the same time.

Actually if you read my profile you'd notice I am strictly "against" selling Songs I write for God,because I feel it is "stealing from/cheating God" to accept money for something that I do for God that is only possible because of God,just like if I became a child Christian teacher at a church,I would reject money there too because both are things I like doing for God that only are fruitful because of the holy spirit,so it really feels "contradictory" because in either case to me it would feel like I'm saying to God"I faithfully try to serve you but that isn't enough I need to use your name and songs I write for you to make money, and I appreciate the holy spirit for teaching children your word but I need a salary because I don't trust you to give the increase when I work at my regular job",see for me I can't do that, after all God has done for me it wouldn't feel right to "use" his name, word,or songs he gives me for "personal gain" because they are to be for him and encouraging others to come to God,not for "personal profit",that's why I only sing my songs at churches and never ask for money for them because whatever is gained should be for God in someway, such as churches receiving donations perhaps due to the songs but ideally the money is used for God by having it used for those in need in churches or outside churches, and for spreading his word.
I know that sounds rather a harsh thing to say but it's just the way I feel about it and it's one of the few things I am not about to change my mind about.

A self-appointed expert on jobs, a very nice old lady, by the way, most certainly pushing 90 at that particular time, told me that my choice of work should be seamstress.

Sometimes I wish I had listened to her.

Hi Joe there is nothing wrong with making a living from Christian music.

Look at the tribe of priests in the OT, they worked for God, but God made sure they
were provided for by the other tribes. They didn’t do it for nothing.

Its like saying Christian workers should not be paid for their work. God is no man’s
debtor God pays His own way. It’s up to you what you want to do with any money gained.
As long as you are a responsible steward, I see absolutely nothing wrong with gaining money
from a musical Christian carer.

The way I see it God has given musical talent to worship Him and lead others into worship.
The secular world abuses that privileged by using it for anything but Him. So it’s great when
christians actually use their musical talent it for what it was meant. Without money from it, most
well known Christian musicians would not have the time, as all their time would have to be
spent trying to support themselves in other ways financially. They could not achieve what they
have.

Maybe have a rethink about that one. I wouldn’t expect you to charge to sing a song in church
your own church.
Maybe instead you can copyright the words and music and see if it’s possible to make money
that way. Maybe if you have several songs you can pay to get them recorded and promote
your own tracks to see where that goes.

...and I fly the durn things. Trust me, there is money in almost anything associated with Aircraft.
Oh are YOU the one who got that poor midget in trouble? :p

Excerpt from a pilot's maintenance gripe sheet:

PILOT: Autopilot in altitude-hold mode produces a 200 feet per minute descent.

ENGINEER: Cannot reproduce problem on the ground.

PILOT: There's some kind of plinking noise behind the instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer.

ENGINEER: Took the hammer away from the midget.

I love those! I especially like the one where the report read:

"#3 engine missing."

The solution read: "Found it! It was hiding out on one of the wings."

Well not a bad idea, since every area needs this sort of trade,it sometimes can be dishonest but overall at least you can help people with getting homes, and since I prefer honesty I could be sure someone actually gets a decent home.
