Yesterday I learnt that English has 4000 syllables whereas Cantoneese only have 400.
Today I learnt that I wish my computer didn't get broken on Wednesday. I really need a PC with full version of Word to do a proper job with bibliography etc. Kind of sad that Ubuntu is not as brilliant. Libre office is great until a certain point. And abow that point is needed when I write my papers due on Thursday.

I learned that I have absolutely no self control when allowed to go into Hobby Lobby and finding out they have all Christmas decor 50% off. I bought more than I should have, but my tree looks beautiful now.

Possibility 2: You're a conspiracy theorist... actually didn't I see you posting in that forum? :p

Possibility 3: We're both right and he did the things you say he did for a greater good.

Either way nothing we say will make a penny's worth of difference. History books have already been written.

I learned that there is a pretty good indication by the astrological evidence written in the Bible that Jesus really could have been born on September 11, 3 AD.... between 6:45 PM and 7:30 PM.

I had always heard from theologians that Jesus could have been a September baby, so it's a good possibility!

Have you tried OpenOffice? Its free and its very much like MS Word. It is more capable than what one would expect from a free program because it is open source (developers are always making it better for free)

Yeah, if LibreOffice isn't cutting it then OpenOffice (which is the predecessor of LibreOffice) probably won't be enough either.

toinena what are you trying to do? Just curious.

Curiosity killed the cat. ;-)

I like Libre office, but when writing an academic paper, it is so convenient to use Word to fill in the bibliography/references immediately when I put in quotes and references, and also it generates the index and correct bibliography and inserting front page, top text etc... I know you can do it manually, and perhaps it is some possibilities in Libre office too, but I have gotten used to Word, and I don't want to use energy on learning that right now. I know. Bill Gates owns part of my soul... I should do some exorcism when the finals are done.

Wow that WOULD be handy!

And I understand not having time to learn a different interface. I feel it all the time, every time a favorite program updates and the UI is totally changed. "Oh come on, I can't deal with this now. I just want to use the program like I used to!"

Today I learned a word processor can automatically insert bibliography. Now I am going to carefully avoid any job that requires the use of that knowledge. =^.^=

But it is possible in LibreOffice, toinena, but yeah you'll have to learn the way it is done in that program. Something to investigate when you have some free time perhaps, but not something you want to fiddle with when you're trying to get a paper done.
