While Jesus was having dinner at Levi’s house, many tax collectors and sinners were eating with him and his disciples, for there were many who followed him.

So Jesus was eating at someone else's house. How does that prove He owned His own home? Hint: it does not. In fact, Jesus said the Son of Man had no place to lay His head.
King James version put it clearer.. He's house not levi's house

Guys Jesus was never poor.. just for our sake He became poor for us to be rich.. just like Him.. read mark 2:15 please

Yeah, uh-huh, I know.

"And as he reclined at table in his house, many tax collectors and sinners were reclining with Jesus and his disciples, for there were many who followed him." Mark 2:15

Pentecostal/WoF/Prosperity gospel-izers when they think of his house:

There are plenty that have a "house" who are poor. The above represents the housing styles of Israel at that time.

But I digress, the verse is abused to prove the false gospel of WoF and to act like he was loaded, a la "Now, what kind of house do you think Jesus had!!!!!!!? 25 bedrooms! A pool! 35,000 square feet! Exotic wood floors! The VERY BEST of EVERYTHING!!!! And that is why Jesus came so you too can have a house and cars, and planes, and money, anything you claim!!!!!"

That is a false gospel, taking Scripture out of context and misapplying it.

While I agree with you that WoF is a false gospel, you are a master at creating straw man arguments and bashing people over the head with them.

While I agree with you that WoF is a false gospel, you are a master...man

THANK YOU! MIGHTY KIND, MIGHTY KIND! ;) :p :D

Actually it's an accurate representation, and many have heard this type of false message preached about Christ.

Yea got to be wise to these false people who enjoy twisting and misrepresenting people's words as seen above in the post. no morals what so ever.

Actually i think our Nigerian friend is talking about Jesus once being rich in heaven before he came down to earth and adopting a poorer status on earth Magenta...

While i do not think Jesus lived as one of the poorest of the poor in Israel He certainly was not in the elite merchant or ruling classes..

Amen His house is as big as a new creation .

His goods are not of this world. He came into a world that was bankrupt of eternal spirit life. He is the life, the truth and the one way .

Perhaps that is all.

There is a deluge of false prosperity gospel teachings in Nigeria and it has been targeted. Mark 2:15 is one of its proof text springboards to promote this false teaching.

A true Christian is one who believes in what the Lord preached, which is to love one another, be just, love truth, and other such teachings of His Way.
In Luke 10:30-37 the Lord gives an example of a priest, a rabbi, and a Samaritan.
Both the priest and Samaritan gave no love or mercy to their own injured countryman, while the Samaritan (an enemy to the Jews), nevertheless, believing in love and mercy, helped the injured man.
It doesn't matter what someone claims themselves to believe in; what matters is what their actions prove them to believe in.
The Samaritan, though never having heard of Christ, believed in Christ's Way of loving his neighbor.

Luke 10:30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.31 And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,
34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

I wonder if Marilyn Manson is related to Charles? Ugh, I see it is more of a stage name, though Charles certainly played a part :p:p:p M. Manson is a self-identified fan of Anton LaVey, and an honorary priest in the Church of Satan  Not a good role model, I'd say...
Yea and I used to LOVE it, most assuredly not a "good role model" at all, but at least he takes his condition seriously though. He does not pull any punches and is the perfect representative of our condition before Christ. God hating, blaspheming, lovers of evil, lovers of death, hopeless, broken, incomplete, vile, lovers of dark rather than light, arrogant, foolish, blind to the truths of life, son of Adam. The most astounding thing is that God can take a creature such as this and change him. He can take a vile, broken, lost, mess such as me and change my heart to love Him, to love good things, to desire His will for me and for all mankind. What a testament of His power it is to take the corrupt nature of men (and women of course, i take "men" to mean all people in this context) and change it into a God seeking, good loving, God glorifying nature that can now love God. It's truly "amazing grace" and I'm so very thankful for it.

very very good...anyone can just post a status on the web claiming to be a Christian but it doesn't make it true and there is plenty of Jesus teachings to prove this
