Update:

I have tried to reach out to my old friend and he just blocks me again and again, when I told him friend can disagree on matters and still be friends, he just says "we weren't getting along" and blocks me.

Then leave him alone. If you keep trying to contact him when he clearly doesn't want to talk to you, it's nothing but harassment.
