Mark 12:28-34
“Then one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, perceiving that He had answered them well, asked Him, “Which is the first commandment of all?”
29 Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment.31 And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
32 So the scribe said to Him, “Well said, Teacher. You have spoken the truth, for there is one God, and there is no other but He.33 And to love Him with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”
34 Now when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, He said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.”
But after that no one dared question Him.”
Here's my question, can someone break the Law of Sabbath keeping if they love the Lord God, with all thier heart, with all thier soul, with all thier mind, and with all thier strength?
It amazes me as to how petty this has become because people make it more then it is after the Lord Jesus speaks these words, "for there is one God, and there is no other but He. And to love Him with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength." And the second is as the first, "and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices."
Or as Jesus proclaimed it all in one spoken account of Scripture and it is more than all of the Law and it's brunt offerings and it's sacrifices and here it is.
"for there is one God, and there is no other but He. And to love Him with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. And the second is as the first, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices."
What an awesome blessing that our love for the Lord is better than all of the Law in it's sacrifice and burnt offerings and it is the love that is the awesome part of all this when we read I John 4:19 “We love Him because He first loved us.” We as mankind need to love Him with all that we are, but in His glorious grace He first loved us, so that we could love Him in all His glorious grace making the Scriptures alive in us Ephesians 1:3-6
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.”
He calls us to love Him with all of our hearts, soul, mind, strength, love our neighbors as ourselves and He has supplied this love that He requires from us. What a gracious, holy and loving God that set requirements from us and supplies them for us and in us so that we can fulfill them, Hallelujah blessed be the Lord of the universe who is worthy to be praised with all our heart, mind, soul, strength that He has supplied to us His true children of God.
