This rest was for all of Israel - servants and slaves as well as visitors.
i. This is an important principle that might be too easily passed over. Here God declared the essential humanity and dignity of women, slaves, and strangers, and said they had the same right to a day of rest as the free Israeli man. This was certainly a radical concept in the ancient world.

I have little use for most of what PS has to say; but, he is citing David Guzik here (albeit completely out of context)

This is quite true whether you care to accept it or not.
Hi MarcR,

Please forgive me but I am not sure what you are posting about here as there is nothing in your post box you are quoting from so I do not know the context.

As to PS, you may have to forgive me again as I was not following that conversation with you guys as I was dsitracted doing other things at the time and it was off topic so I did not follow the conversation as such so did not get involved and do not reall know much about it except some disagreement.

May God bless you as you seek him through His Word.

What does it mean to

IMO it refers to eitherputting things into our body that are not wholesome i.e. drugs or tobacco smoke; or to conduct ourselves in ways that compromise our testimony.

Yes MarcR,

I believe the same about the physical application to the temple as well. My application I guess was more focusing on the spiritual application but good point you brought up there that it also applies to the physical. Something I left out but should have included. The physical is also important application. Thanks for sharing this.

Hi PS,
Yes that is correct, and it is the Lord's Day as Matt 12:8 says it is because he made it.
You are missing something very important. Jesus is Lord and the Sabbath is the LORDS Day.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (Rom 10:9 KJV)

And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
(Php 2:11 KJV)

For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.
(2Co 4:5 KJV)

It was on the SUNDAY that the Lord Jesus conquered sin and death for those who believe.

Sunday is HIS day, when we remember HIS victory, that only GOD can accomplish.

Hello PS,

I am not missing anything my friend. I BELIEVE and FOLLOW Him who calls me because I LOVE HIM and KNOW HIM and he bids me come so I come.

Jesus is only LORD to those who BELIEVE and FOLLOW Him who calls them. Those who do not BELIEVE or FOLLOW His Word do NOT make him LORD because they do not BELIEVE and FOLLOW him who calls them.

Many are called but FEW are CHOSEN.

Those who CHOOSE to live a LIFE of SIN do not KNOW him who is calling them.

Matthew 7
21, Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven;
but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22, Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23, And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity (SIN).

This is why Jesus says; If you LOVE me KEEP my COMMANDMENTS (John 14:15: 15:10)

.........................

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

There is not one scripture in ALL of God's WORD that says God's 4th commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to worship God on Sunday in it's place.

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

In times of ignorance God winks at but now calls all men every where to REPENT for the KINGDOM of HEAVEN is at HAND (Acts 17:30-31)

Hope this helps..

Hello PS, and why would I do that? Only God's Word is true and we should BELIEVE and FOLLOW it. SIN is the transgression of God's LAW (James 2:11; Roamns 7:7; 1 John 3:4; Romans 3:20)

I am quoting you, and you say it makes no sense. Well at least you got that right.
Hello PS,

Who can know the mind of God? As the heavens are higher than the earth so are my ways from your ways and so are my thoughts from your thoughts.

But the Spirit of truth is given only to those that are poor. He is the teacher of all the poor in spirit, he knows them all by name because he reads the intent of the heart that is sick.

Who can look into the mirror that God gives to see who they are? These are those that look into the mirror and see God.

The natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God neither can he know them because in his mind they are foolishness. Now you say you see therefore your sin remains. How will you hear him calling when you have closed your ears?

Do you know the scriptures quoted above?

Hello gb9, why do you always feel the need to change the subject? Did you find a scripture that says that God's 4th commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day?

asking one a question is not changing the subject. you were told in post #2744 that Jesus rose on sunday. you have to confirm or deny that you believe that.

it is important that one knows what someone they are interacting with believes. remember , Jesus asked his disciples " who do men say I am", then after they answered that, he asked " who do YOU say I am?.

Hello gb9, you do indeed feel the need to change the subject because you have no scripture to hold on to your tradition. Why is it that you always expect me to always answer your questions yet you and your friends ignore the questions I ask you?

I and others have answered you many, many times- gentiles were never under the law of Moses. Sabbath was not commanded in the N.T.

so, you can't admit that Christ rose on sunday. Christ's resurrection is the center of Christanity. heck, you might not even believe in the resurrection for all we know.

so, in my opinion, you are not a Christian. you care nothing about the basics of the Christian faith, only about the jewish Sabbath.
