You make a statement like that while you try to act like "soon" means 2,000 years on down the road?
Come on what is time to the Eternal God? A thousand years are as a day with God. Soon in eternal terms could be many millennia. My mortal mind cannot comprehend eternity in heaven and with no night it will seem as a single day?

For the Elect, you can start a study, from these verses.

Romans 11:4 But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.

1 Kings 19:18 Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.

..............................................

During Satans tribulation, he pretends to be Jesus . He is supernatural . God intends to send him here. The elect will stand, and the Holy Spirit will use them to inform the world about the Truth during Satans Tribulation . Read Joel the prophet .. Peter quotes it in Acts 2 concerning the later days ; it would happen again ..

Christ mentions the trials in Revelation and in Mark 13 etc... And how to be very careful with that as it relates to the unpardonable sin. Luke 12 for example .

The deciding to stop believing, is in Daniel 9:27 and many other places in Daneil.. Nebuchadnezzar was a type of Satan too .

But here
Daniel 9:27
And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

The overspreading of abominations caused by Satan claiming to be God and Christ causes the apostasy or the ceasing of worship of Christ by deception ..

It is like the Whore in revelation saying she sits a Queen and is no widow . Christ died and resurrected, He returned to Heaven. Hes expecting a virgin bride one not defiled by Satan . Christ explains

Luke 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

1 Thessalonians 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

The time is compared to a thief, because of the tribulation just before Christ actually returns . When Christ shows up people then realize, that they've been worshiping the thief Satan, who in essence stole their faith .

2 Corinthians 11:2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

Yes you have to read the scriptures. This is why we have so many divisions in the body of Christ , because precisely no one has read the scriptures. So anyone can move in and claim to be Christ, and thats how a lot of damage is done, and that preps people for a big fall ...

Satan when he gets here will take advantage of that .. When Satan attempted to tempt Christ in the wilderness, it says he did so by twisting scripture..

Matthew 4:3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

4 But He answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Mathew 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

25 Behold, I have told you before.

Told us before means before the fact. Thats how we escape deception and the Wrath to come. is buy not being used and taken advantage of by Satan .

Great. Reserve everyday some time to study the bible, and get through it . and then do it again, and it will stat to clarify .
Gods plans will come into focus, and then you'll realize Christians have maybe a destiny in that..

Never hurts to ask God for help in Christs' name too . have a good New year.

I, like you, perhaps for different reasons though, ran away from what I later learned was "churchianity".

There are all kinds and types, of people out there teaching the Bible. However, this one is the one that "took" with me: https://www.youtube.com/user/TheShepherdsChapel

Zec 14:5 On that day His feet will stand on Mt Olive. The Mt will split in 2 from east to west. Then the Lord your God will come, & "all the saints with Him."
(NOTE: When Jesus comes pre-trib raptured saints are with him)

Jude 14,15 Jesus Returns with Ten Thousand of His Saints
Behold, """""the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints"""", To execute judgment upon all,
(NOTE: When Jesus comes to execute judgment. The pre-trib raptured saints are with him)

1 Thessalonians 3:To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, "at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints".
(NOTE: At Jesus 2nd coming the pre-trib raptured saints are already with him)

Isa 26:
20 "Come my people, enter our (bridal) chambers & shut the door behind you, "hide yourself until the indignation (wrath) is past"

21 Behold the Lord comes to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity While the wrath of God is poured out on the earth.

Jesus doesn't return to punish believers = The Body of Christ. Their iniquity's were forgiven & nailed to His Cross. The believers/church will be hidden away with their Bridegroom. Believers/The Church have peace & reconcilation. Via belief/FAITH placed in Christ's redemptive sin atoning sacrifive. Found in Christ's death, burial & resurrection 1 Cor 15:1-4.

The Great tribulation is called: The time of Jacobs trouble. God changed Jacobs name to Israel (Gen 35:10).

1 Thes 1:10, And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even "Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come"
(NOTE: 1 Thes written to believers: Jesus delivers "Rapture" believers from the coming wrath)

Rom 5:9 being now justified by his blood, "we shall be saved from wrath" through him
(NOTE: Rom written to believers: We shall be saved from the coming wrath)

1 thes 5:9 "God hath not appointed us to wrath", but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ
(NOTE: God has appointed Believers to savlvation in Christ, Not the wrath to be poured out on the unbeliever)

The Pre-trib RAPTURED Body of Christ = Church escaps the wrath of the great trib soon to be poured out.

OT examples of God saving the righteous from coming wrath:

The angels couldn’t destroy Sodom and Gomorrah until Lot and his family were clear

Noah and his family were delivered from wrath before the flood came

How you pointed it out with scriptures says pretrib. But their are a lot that point out scriptures that says post tribulation.

I can only imagine the cringe God must have as He listens to people here call His eternal Word "ancient history".

well that and reading other people are wrong because of their smug arrogance

and that coming from one of the most arrogant people on here

You cannot teach what you do not believe. It's just a statement of fact from observation. Believers start with literal and go to figurative when the scripture does not lend itself to literal interpretation. To go immediately to figurative is to skirt the scripture because you do not want to believe it is literal. Discipleship.

but that is what preterists do

it is the only way they can reconcile what they believe

every preterist on here does the same

Of course God knows what "soon" or "at hand" means - plus or minus 2000 years and getting longer by the day.

He just can't "write" "soon" the way men write and understand "soon"....:p

Jerusalem was indeed destroyed in 70A.D. and there was indeed great suffering at that time.

Here is what we can expect after the Great Tribulation:

Zec 14:1-10
Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.3 Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.6 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark:7 But it shall be one day which shall be known to the Lord, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.8 And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.9 And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one.10 All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin's gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king's winepresses.
KJV

The reason we can know that the 70 A.D. tribulation was NOT the Great Tribulation is that God did NOT fight on behalf of Israel at that time.
