Do you think Mary questioned God the night Jesus was born? She was pregnant with the Savior of the world. She was entrusted with the greatest assignment ever given. You would think God would have cleared out a room in the inn. You would think God would have showed her some favor and rolled out the red carpet. God doesn't go grand just because He calls you to do something extraordinary. He doesn't erase the not so good things in your life just because you're one of His. If things aren't going that great right now, just remember Jesus' birth in a lowly stable. Amazing things come out of unpleasant places!!!"

I've meditated on this...if God had opened the door to the inn...where would the angels sing? Where would the Shepherds have gone? Would the innkeeper have let in such motley crew? How would they have kept it a secret? Wouldn't it have jeopardized Jesus' very life? How could Mary take in privately so much beauty? I'd far more have my child "alone" than all the hoopla. I'm different I guess. I 'ran away' as a child of 3. I didn't like the arguing going on...I knew from "TV" runaways never get far...so I ran to the hayloft, snuggled in with the kittens, trusted Jesus for safety, for I was afraid, and I fell asleep in the hay. No greater love than that. My parents feared for we lived on a large farm. My mother found me. She never asked or questioned me. I forgave so I never told.
