Here is why the Temple Mount matters to Jews.

Why is the Temple Mount holy to Jews?
The Temple Mount, known in Hebrew as Har Habayit, is traditionally said to be the site where Abraham demonstrated his devotion to God by taking his son Isaac to be sacrificed. The mount is also the site of both ancient Jewish temples. The first, built by King Solomon, was destroyed by the Babylonians in 586 BCE. The second was built in the sixth century BCE and stood for nearly 600 years before it was destroyed and the Jewish people exiled in 70 CE by the Roman Empire. Jews continue to mourn the destruction on the fast day of Tisha B’Av. According to Jewish tradition, a third temple will be built on the site during the messianic age.

I would say this is more than a "piece of dirt."

To God Jerusalem is more then just a piece of dirt.

2 Kings 21:4 And he built altars in the house of the LORD, of which the LORD said, In Jerusalem will I put my name.
(NOTE: The LORD has put his name in Jerusalem)

1 Kings 14:21 And Rehoboam the son of Solomon reigned in Judah. Rehoboam was forty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the LORD did choose out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. And his mother's name was Naamah an Ammonitess.
(NOTE: The LORD chose Jerusalem in Judah. Quick question: Why do we call some people Americans? Answer their from America, Why do we call some people Japanese? Answer their from Japan. Now the real question: Why do we call people Jews? Answer their from JUDAH!)

Abrahams grandson Jacob, wrestles with the angel of the Lord (theophany) Gen 32:1-30. God changes Jacobs name to Israel. The 12 Tribes of Israel are Jacobs sons. Each receiving a portion of land/DIRT in Israel. Judah is one of his sons

1 Chronicles 16:17 He also confirmed it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel as an everlasting covenant,
(NOTE: This DIRT covenant is everlasting and guaranteed by the LORD. Who has placed his name there 2 Kings 21:4)

Psalm 105:10 Then He confirmed it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel as an everlasting covenant,
(NOTE: This land/DIRT covenant is an everlasting covenant guaranteed by the LORD)

King David Bought The Temple Mt

The Temple Mt is "The Place" where God chose His divine presence to rest (Isa 8:18)

Oral tradition say's, was from here that God gathered the dust used to create the first man, Adam. The Temple Mt is where Abraham bound Isaac. Abraham trusted God & by "Faith" offered Isaac as a sacrifice

God intervened & spared Isaac’s life, by providing a ram instead. Abraham called this place “The LORD Will Provide" Provide what? A future sacrifice.

Due to Abraham’s obedience on Mt Moriah, God told him that his descendants will take possession of the city

About 1000 years later at this very location, King David "bought" the threshing floor (37 acre Temple Mt area) from Araunah the Jebusite. & built an altar to the Lord so that a “plague may be held back from the people” (2 Sam 24:18, 21 & 1 Chron 21

Here David made a peace offering unto the Lord (1 chron 21:26

The LORD excepts & answers by shooting fire from Heaven onto the alter. Upon David’s death, Solomon built a Temple on the same site. Solomon’s Temple lasted over 4 hundred years until it was destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar in 587/586 BC

70 yrs later the Temple was rebuilt on the same site. It was this temple that Jesus cleansed (Jn 2:15

In 70 A.D the Roman's again destroy the Temple

All that remains of the Temple Mt of that era is a portion of a retaining wall known as the Western or Wailing Wall

A site of prayer for Jews for centuries. God called Abraham to Mt Moriah & still has plans for the Temple Mt

The Bible indicates that a 3rd Temple will be built on or near the site of Solomon’s Temple (Dan 9:27

Today a problem given the obstacles that stand in the way. Currently Jordan administrates the Temple Mt holy places thru the Waqf (Islamic trust)

Yet nothing can stop God’s sovereign plans

Muslim control of this area simply fulfills the prophecy of Luke 21:24 that Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled

The LORD gave His Chosen people Israel for an everlasting inheritance. Num 34:1-15

The LORD puts HIS NAME on JERUSALEM!

Kings 21:4
4 He built altars in the house of the LORD, of which the LORD said, "In Jerusalem will I put my name"

1st God, the true owner promises the land to Abrahams descendants. God then has King David "BUY IT"
So, who really owns the Temple Mt?

History is not really your subject is it?
Ernest L. Martin wrote a book "The Temples That Jerusalem Forgot", and there is historical documentation of letters of people from the time period that make some extraordinary claims and how they show that the Temple didn't sit on the Harem el Sharif.

Today it is .Its served it purpose just as Mount Sinai. There is no residue left over .

Dirt is dirt nothing more and nothing less. No matter where we go there we are.The Spirit of Christ is not made up of the rudiments as atoms and molecules of this world that make up the foundation of all the Pagan religions of the world. Christian remain walking by sight not receiving the promise of tier new incorruptible bodies. But by the peace of God that comes from the father and the Son that surpasses all human understanding he does make his requests know to the clay he is forming Christ in.

Uh..... some of you Zionists might not want to get too carried away on that one. The word, "covenant" has always stood for an agreement between two parties. If one party violates the terms of the covenant, it no longer stands. Try stopping the payments on your house, and see how fast you learn that truth. Israel blew it. That covenant is no longer in effect.

Israel lost use of the land but not the deed.Bible makes that clear.

Quite right - the terms for return to the land was repentance and obedience to Torah/Old Covenant - which raises two issues, the current land occupiers did not "return" in repentance, secondly there is no old covenant for them to be obedient to which spelled out the conditions for occupying the land.

Therefore the conditions for return and occupation of the land are no longer valid.

What we have dwelling there are "space" invaders by might not by right...

The deed of a temporal land as a metphor used points to the true new heavenly Jerusalem prepared as His bride the church.

Dirt remain lifeless and spiritless . No matter where you go there you are.

The kingdom or mount of God is not of this world. In the new heavens and earth those temporal kingdoms will be his eternal Kingdom We walk by faith the unseen ,new Jerusalem . Not by sight after the temporal Jerusalem here on this corrupted creation .

Revelation 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

There is a difference between covenant and business contract. Rabbi Jonathan Sacks gave a speech which defined covenant as one of trust and loyalty while contract is what you describe. Abram fell asleep after dividing the 3 large animals so a smoking furnace and a burning torch would float between the halves. Study that abomination that desolates from Matthew 24 to Daniel 9-12 and 2 Thess. 2 to Rev. 11. Study Hosea and Gomer. Our Salvation is likened to adopted sons and part of Christ's body and the Bride.

Sorry,I disagree. No time at the moment to further explain except that God is not done with the Jews.

Read 1 Timothy 6 closely. who is the immortal who dwells in unapproachable light? God the Father. Everything the Father has is given to the Son but their is a time line and not from eternity. How else could Ps. 110 be true? Sit by my side until I put all of your enemies under your feet.
