so what is the purpose of the cross, if we will all be judged according to our deeds anyway?

And does not the law say everyone who is not perfect is guilty? Who can live up to that standard?
Two words to accurately describe the cross and it's application to those who have genuinely believed into Christ........NO CONDEMNATION

I see so much more than differences of opinions under this thread. I see purposeful division and I do not believe God has anything to do with that.

Where there is strife and division, the devil is in the details.
I would embellish this statement with the words "by some" after the word division.... ;)

Thats not what Jesu says

he says HIS SHEEP hear HIS VOICE, and when they walk away,. He leaves the whole flock to go find them, and when he does HIS SHEEP Hear HIS VOICE and follow him, those sheep who ARE NOT HIS SHEEP do not hear his voice and thus do not come.

You do not become christs sheep. Then not his sheep, then his sheep again, Tghen not his sheep.

Your either his or you are not.Even his sheep can go astray, but he always goes to get them and they ALWAYS return.
Verb tense alone proves eternal security and the loss of reward, chastisement, prodigal son, 1st Corinthians 3, Corinthian fornicator, the children of Israel in the wilderness etc...ALL PROVE THAT A CHILD OF GOD CANNOT BECOME LOST and is indicative of how God deals with his children after salvation and when disobedient........

Look at how Ralph has divided the room. All because one tried to be nice to him.

I hope people realise that is his goal. To divide us,. And get us angry at each other in hopes of getting some of us banned because we said something.

again, I recommend we stop giving this person who has declaried war on calvin, and only looks through calvin lenses an audience. There is being nice and Christlike, ands their is enabling.

E-g thank you for these words, A false teacher can and will continue to destroy church bodies, thats what they do. They are deceivers and impostors. The Apostle Paul recognized false teachers and called them out by their names, 1Tim1:18-20. False teachers should not be treated gently they should be called out publicly for the harm they are doing.

"I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them." Romans16:17

And also, we agree that those who do walk away, were not of us (i.e., they were not saved) to begin with, which is affirmed in Scripture, despite what the naysayers claim, to their shame.

They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.

No one can ever move forward in spiritual living when under this for this is oppression. Roger, notuptome said something in another thread that is true. And we totally disagree on a lot of topics. But, he said our warfare is through mens words. While I don't believe this is the first line of offense the devil throws at one, it definitely will come later.

Thats why this thread has been so important to keep on. This is the very foundation that will keep us standing. And it definitely is bearing fruit. Good job Dcon.

there is NOTHING wrong with being kind

but when posthuman accepted some of what was said about my character...

it did make me feel like he was against me....

i asked around to people who know me in real life if ralphs claims held any merit

(i would add being kind is a good thing.... you kindly told me i was wrong before bill... that is different than being in agreement)

I will just say the issue here is not Ralphs interpretation of the word. If it was just that, We probably would not be having this discussion. (There are groups who have different interpretations here yet it does not cause all this division) It goes deeper than that.

This is an axample of what I am talking about. This division had nothing to do with bible interpretation. It went deeper than that.

Who cares who was nice to "Ralph-?" I mean it isn't wrong to be nice to him nor is it mean to oppose him.

People are more worried about "their name" and "character" than they are the Gospel. And that's a fact.

If they perceive "their character" got, um, "attacked" they're on it and go full on defense mode even though they've never been attacked. It's only their perception for calling them out on their position, they deem this as an attack on "their character."

Posting what a person has said, did, their stance, and/or opposing their view isn't an attack on "their character." If you think it is then watch what you say, do, and make your stance and view Biblical because someone will post about it.

When folks like PJ attacked the Gospel then it's "Lend him an ear!" and he gets a bye for blaspheming the work of Christ and those who find security in Christ. The same never once jumped in to defend the Gospel against this as they do in the case for "their character."

The Gospel didn't get the same level of respect and concern. Too much concern over self-importance.

Unreal man. Wake up.

Aren't there people who come onto sites like this one just to make mischief? They hide behind a cloak of religion yet all they do is to cause strife and dissension.

Most Christians can agree to disagree on some subjects. Just saying.
