Aren't there people who come onto sites like this one just to make mischief? They hide behind a cloak of religion yet all they do is to cause strife and dissension.

Most Christians can agree to disagree on some subjects. Just saying.
i disagree:eek:

Bingo, there are "so called Christians" that come here for nothing more than getting their kicks by getting people worked up,I call it the bait and reel, they start a subject or declare their so called case then watch everyone answer while they don't,pathetic really.

Who cares who was nice to "Ralph-?" I mean it isn't wrong to be nice to him nor is it mean to oppose him.

People are more worried about "their name" and "character" than they are the Gospel. And that's a fact.

If they perceive "their character" got, um, "attacked" they're on it and go full on defense mode even though they've never been attacked. It's only their perception for calling them out on their position, they deem this as an attack on "their character."

Posting what a person has said, did, their stance, and/or opposing their view isn't an attack on "their character." If you think it is then watch what you say, do, and make your stance and view Biblical because someone will post about it.

When folks like PJ attacked the Gospel then it's "Lend him an ear!" and he gets a bye for blaspheming the work of Christ and those who find security in Christ. The same never once jumped in to defend the Gospel against this as they do in the case for "their character."

The Gospel didn't get the same level of respect and concern. Too much concern over self-importance.

Unreal man. Wake up.
well...
this is an open forum

if right after we "lend an ear" to listen and confirm the situation

we can better break down errors in their teachings .... no?

some people hang themself with their words

Yep. I've seen these threads started, then the OP never responds. And people were giving good answers and advice too.

The problem with PJ was not his gospel. People could refute his gospel. The problem with PJ was his continued attack, slander and outright lies about other people. And his refusal to admit mistake, admit any wrongdoing, And it was made worse because people would stand up and call him out f0or what he was doing, and other people would come to his iAd and saying we were wrong for calling him out for his attacks and lies.

That caused major division. And destroyed friendships which sadly are still torn to this day.

There are quite a few people here who believe salvation can be lost which do not cause divisions, which does not cause anger, WHo do not go about attacking, slandering and judging others. And with these people we have peaceful disagreements (or we should) If not, then what makes those attacking them any better?

This I think may be part of it. But I think others are trained to do it.. To defend our belief at any cost.. I have seen it far to much,, in fact, I used to do that myself because that is what I saw people I looked up to do.

Have to disagree with you bro. The problem with PJ was his gospel and his attacks on others. When one has a false gospel it is a problem until they recant that false gospel. There was no conceding to it being refuted, and several still agree with him.

I disagree, Other people spoke the same gospel and did not cause division, hate and get so many including himself banned

We can refute peters gospel. That did not cause division. What caused division was he attacks, lies and denials.

We have to get it in our head, we are not going to convince everyone to change their gospel. Attacking them will not change their mind, if nothing, it will get you a hand in the face and a blow off.

In these cases we need to come in love.. (and I know I do not always do this)
