I was reading about the thief on the cross on day years ago and it accured to me that the thief on the right knew alot about Jesus. He rebuked the other thief and then asked Jesus to remember him. He told the other thief that they were getting what there deeds deserved but Jesus had done nothing wrong.

Its just conjecture but I can see this man in previous times following the crowds, witnessing the miracles; He might have heard Jesus cry out, "If any man is thirsty, let him come to me .... ". But he may have turned away. "Im not good enough" he may have thought to himself, "I have tried to live a Godly life, but i can't".

This may have led to the saddest of all, getting caught as a thief and being crucified with the one man he didn't feel worthy to follow.

As I read this passage, I broke out into tears, you see this man was me. I was asked once who i Identified the most with from the Bible, ... without thinking I knew .... The Thief on the Cross ! Thank you Jesus for your most marvellous grace and mercy. Amen
