Why then does Peter make a big deal out Noah and his family being saved by water in 1Peter 3:20?

The correct word is saved through water. It was a picture. Much like baptism is a picture (in like figure) it does not. Remove filth of the flesh, but is a good conscious towards God.

God saved them, Not some man immersing you in water.

yes, Like the waters of the flood (which was Gods wrath by the way) which saved noah, in like figure baptism saves us.

Noah is not in heaven because of the waters of the flood, He is in heaven because God cleansed him with pure water.

Because we are not saved by faith alone. You need to do more than one thing to live physically (eat, breathe, drink water, etc), and you need to do more than one thing to live spirituality (repent, faith, confess, baptism, obedience, etc. All these things have scripture attaching them to salvation. Yet many people stick with just one of them (mostly faith) and claim that’s all that’s needed.

If He truly is your foundation I suggest you listen to His words.

"Who ever believes and is baptized will be saved, whoever does not believe will be condemned." Mark 16:16

Baptized by the HS, No mention of water there, Proven by what John said, whoever believes is not condemned, whoever does not believe is condemned already.

Plus, if believing and not being baptised would not save us, Jesus would have made that clear. He did not. Because he was not speaking of physical baptism.

John 5 is the same, Where he told the woman he would give her living water which flowed to eternal life. (This he spoke of the spirit)

With all due respect, ‘the filth of the flesh’ is physical dirt (mud) not spiritual dirt (sin). Paul was explaining how being baptized is not like taking a bath. Baptism does wash away sins (spiritually). Because it is during baptism that God performs ‘circumcision of the heart’. (Col2:11,12) by cutting away sin from our heart (spiritually) with Christ’s blood.

Well in technicality one doesn't have to be water baptized for it is better to be baptized of the spirit,but I myself believe both spirit and water baptism are "Best" because both represent a form of "accepting of Jesus" Water baptism represents us being baptized into Jesus's death and thereby receiving remission of sins,where as spirit acceptance represents that you "wholly believe" humbly and sincerely that Jesus can save your soul and did all the bible says he did.

sounds like you are re-writing scripture to fit your belief... water baptism was commanded, and practiced by all the apostles.

MORE importantly, it was commanded by Jesus... how can anyone argue with our savior?

With all do respect that makes no sense whatsoever. Filth of the flesh was a representative term which means the sins of our flesh.

The only baptism that washes our sins is the baptism of the spirit performed by God. The spiritual circumcision of God spoken of in Colossians.

Water baptism no more washes your sins than circumcision did for the jews.

What if a person could not be baptized because of medical reasons?
If baptism is necessary for salvation, that person has no chance for eternal life.
Think about that for a moment.

IF (big if) someone truly cannot be baptized, for whatever health reason you can come up with in a hypothetical situation, I imagine that God knows what's in their heart, and will be just to them.

Willingly refusing baptism is actually a refusal to follow Jesus' command.... I would not think that a person who is "saved" would willingly tell Jesus "I don't see it as necessary, so I'm not going to do it"....

I agree, we should obey God and be baptised because he commands, it, But not to get saved, but because wer are saved, as peter said, as a good conscious, out of gratitude and love for God.
