When we all got saved, we confessed our sin.I believe that confession needs to be one time because after salvation the spirit Is saved and sealed but when we repent after salvation, It should be toward our brother whom we might offend.Would you agree?
1 John 1:9
king James Version(KJV)
9.)If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
I think you should take a closer look at that verse you just quoted.
If you only need to repent once in your life at the time of salvation, then why bother repenting of any offense toward a brother or sister, seeing that you are automatically forgiven for everything, forever?
Isn't it true, that God told us to forgive others
so that He can forgive us?
Mar 11:25 And when ye stand praying,
forgive, if ye have ought against any: [so] that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
Mar 11:26
But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
What if we refuse to do so? Or like most people, let's say you need a cooling down period before you can forgive them. What happens in that interim period of being unjustly angry while holding a grudge because they did something you didn't like and you were offended?
Will God simply forgive us again, because we are automatically cleansed by the blood of Jesus?
It happens to all of us, and yet we are told to forgive them.
If we are forever cleansed and forgiven for all sins committed, past, present, and future, by the blood of Jesus, then we can ignore verses in the bible that tells us to do otherwise, with an, or else, attached to it.
If we don't need to repent of anything because we are forever forgiven, then there won't be any consequences if we hold a grudge against another person. Will God forgive us regardless of what we do, simply because we are His children?
I think not. Scripture clearly says contrariwise.
In regards to 1 John 1:9, if a child of God is automatically forever cleansed of all sin, then why does it say to repent and confess your sins, in order for you to be cleansed of your sins again, of all unrighteousness?
The above verse is not written to the unregenerated sinner, telling them how to receive salvation, nor it is written to the Christian to let them know that they have been cleansed of all their sins, for all eternity. No, this is written to those who have sinned
AFTER they received Christ as their savior, telling them to repent of their newly committed sins so that they can be forgiven and cleansed by the blood of Jesus.
So to answer one of your questions, yes, I believe a Christian only needs to repent once of whatever sins they committed after they were born again, and God will both forgive and cleanse them by the blood of Jesus.
And all who see themselves as a sinner saved by grace, has a sin conscience or consciousness and do not have a righteous or right standing with God mentality.
As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.
And what a man thinks in his heart, is how he sees himself.
We who are born again, are not sinners, but the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
We are righteous because He that is righteous is in us. As the scriptures say, our righteousness is not our own.
Indeed, Jesus is our righteousness.
At the same time, we need to repent of wrongdoings once, so that we can be forgiven of those offenses and cleansed by the blood of Jesus, and then God will once again restore us to fellowship.
