5 months ago, I wrote a post about my brutal breakup. Today, im here to share with you guys what I learnt from that experience.

Being 19 and getting told by a 29 year old that I wasn’t good enough or mature enough for him was one of the most hurtful things to hear. After being in a first, long relationship and being cheated on, I can say that ive never gone through or felt pain like that in my life but I learnt from that terrible experience. At the time, I felt like I dint want to live. I felt like a huge weight was in my chest and I couldn’t get rid of it. It followed me wherever I went and my emotions completely took over my life but God…he is just so incredible.

Im going to tell you guys what I learnt.

  1. Although, it may seem at the time that God isn’t with you because he is allowing you to go through pain and disappointment, it’s actually a time when God is with you. He takes away the things that you put into your life that he KNOWS is wrong for you. Although you may have wanted that thing so badly, he knew he had something better in store for you. He lets you go through temporary pain so that in the future, you can have everlasting joy.
  2. Don’t write your own life story and follow that because it most likely will end up in disappointment. Give God the pen to write your life and let him direct your path.
  3. Mind over emotions! Don’t let your emotions take over you rather, pray and allow God to show you what is right for your life and even though it may not be what you want, FOLLOW it and watch him work through your life
  4. Don’t be afraid to lift up your hands and pray on your knees...how can your father not give you what you want when your down on ur knees?
  5. God doesn’t want you to beg him rather, ask him for what you want and THANK him for the blessings you have.
  6. People may hurt you but God will never leave you no matter how much you may have hurt him with your bad decisions. All you have to do is ask for forgiveness and he will be right there to forgive.
  7. There’s a difference between happiness that the world can give you and Joy that only God can give you. When you receive Joy, you will know as it is an unexplainable feeling.
  8. NEVER underestimate the power of prayer.
  9. No one in the world can fill a void in your heart…only God can.
  10. Finally,’ trust in the Lord with all your heart and never lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your path.'
If any of you guys need breakup advice or support…im here for you:)
