Maybe the breakdown here is in understanding HOW we get wedding clothes. I'm not suggesting for a minute we sew them for ourselves. They are the result of the faith that justifies. Our responsibility is to not suppress or quench the Spirit with in us-1 Thessalonians 5:19. That's not working. That's letting God do his work in us.
That`s what I am saying , it is God`s Will in us ...xox...

The fear that these scriptures speak of has been done away with.
Only when you have works is fear removed (1 John 4:17-18). Only those who walk in love have confidence that all is well with them and God's punishment/discipline, and the day of his appearing.

If you do not look like Jesus in this life you still have some fearing to do. Read the passage I cited. I know this is probably new teaching to most of you. Like I said earlier, the church has moved far, far away from what the Bible actually says. You will not be taught this in most churches today.

DD,

I agree with a lot of what you say above. I think most here will agree that works will faith (side note I also think that works can increase faith after being saved)
Most here will agree with works with faith. But the few who believe that Faith is enough once you are SAVED, are those that i am exhorting.

I may have misunderstood you.

But I am cautious when you say.

"Being saved" which links to works.
This does come across as works are required to maintain salvation.
Getting Saved is the moment you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. Being Saved is all the days that come after that day that you GOT SAVED. If you are going to be a Christian you will do what the Lord Jesus commands us to do, and that is to Love One Another. If then you are a True Christian you will be Loving One Another, And any form of Loving One Another is a WORK. So then once you accept Jesus as your "LORD" and obey Him, you will be full of Good Works.

Eph_2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

i reprove those who claim to be in Christ Jesus yet have no works.

1Ti_6:18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

Yet another verse that commands us to do good works.

2Ti_3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

A person who claims to be a man of God and have no good works is in no way perfect at all.

Tit_2:7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,

Again, Scriptures teaching us to have good works.

Tit_2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Is this generation zealous of doing Good Works, or does this generation teach AGAINST Works?

Tit_3:8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

Look at that!!! He warns people constantly to Maintain Good Works. Let a person like myself warn people this very thing and see those of this generation take up stones by falsely accusing that person to try to discredit what that person is teaching. Scriptures plainly warn us to make sure we True Christians are maintaining Good Works, i also teach this as well.

Tit_3:14 And let ours also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful.

So then once a person GETS SAVED, Good Works do not come automatically, they are LEARNED. But how will they learn if this generation teaches them they don't need any Good Works?

Heb_10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

So we, as True Christians are to provoke others to do Good Works. Hmmmm, woe to them who don't.

Scriptures plainly teach over and over again, that once a person is Saved, once they ARE a Christian, that they should maintain Good Works, that they should LEARN how to do that. Jesus COMMANDED us to have GOOD WORKS, when He COMMANDED us to Love One Another. Woe to those who believe otherwise. Not saying that anyone on CC does such, only talking to those who believe otherwise.

Maybe it's semantics but I look at it this way and have said to people.

"Now you are a child of God, he will work in you, to change you, seek his will for you"
Basically a child of God having been saved will start to behave as is child as they learn more about him.
100% agree. And the more they LEARN about Him, the more they will be Loving One Another, which is to say the more they will have Good Works.

"However once you are saved you will be full of Good Works"

The caution I have here is that it comes across as "Once you are saved you will be full of Good Work"
That can lead a person to think because they are not suddenly full of Good Works or changed overnight then maybe they are not saved. Which will cause them issues.
Once a person Truly accepts Jesus into their lives to live within them, they will not immediately be full of Good Works, but they will immediately desire them. AFTER they are Saved, is when they will need to LEARN how to do and maintain Good Works. NOT to BE SAVED, NOT to remain Saved, but because they ARE SAVED.

As I said I may have misunderstood you, but am responding to how this can come across.
And this is a Godly way to handle this. You did not merely attack me because i said it this way or that, but are in love letting me know what you think may be coming across to others. This is Godly thing to do.

I think one of the biggest problems today is the "Altar call"

People pray the sinners prayer and that's it.
They are then left to their own devices as such.

There needs to be follow up and discipleship.

Jesus himself said

Matthew 28:19-20
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

make disciples: Making disciples involves three steps: going, baptizing, and teaching. It was assumed that when a person trusted in the Lord Jesus, he or she would be baptized (NKJV study notes)
i agree with this as well. If a person GETS SAVED, they need to Learn. If there is nobody to lead them, to teach them, and are left to themselves, they will not learn as they should. This is where the Body should come in. But the Church Body is so divided today, that the hand says "Not my place to help them learn, i am a hand for grabbing stuff", the eyes says "Not my place to help them learn, my job is to see where the body is going so we don't trip", and the ears say "We are not suppose to help that person learn we are hear to hear what that person says, it is the mouths job to teach that person" and then the mouth says "I am out preaching the Word behind the pulpits, someone else needs to teach the newbies". Therefore the Body does not help. Because today, the body is so divided it is appalling.

If a person who proclaims faith in Jesus but has no desire to change then are they saved?
As i said above, If Jesus Truly is in them, they will have a desire to Love One Another. Jesus is LOVE. Anyone can proclaim they are Saved, You can know who Jesus lives in by the Love they have one for another.

I am a big believer that when someone proclaims faith in Jesus they should be baptised straight away.
And if they are able to do so, then let them do so.
Does not Scriptures plainly teach there is one baptism for Salvation?
John the Baptist himself testified that he baptized with water but Jesus would baptize with the Holy Ghost and with fire. So then which do you think is REQUIRED for Salvation? Water baptism performed by men, or Holy Ghost baptism performed by God?
Holy Ghost baptism is when a person changes from desiring to live a life of sin, to trying to live a life of Holiness, Righteousness. Holy Ghost baptism is when a person stops living their life for themselves and start living a life for God.
As long as a person desires to continue to live in sins, they are not Holy Ghost baptized. Because when they are Holy Ghost baptized, they will no longer DESIRE to live in sin, but they will be most certainly convicted by the Holy Ghost for every single sin that they knowingly commit, even stealing a paperclip from their work. Very few in this generation are Holy Ghost baptized, For who does not try to cheat on their taxes? Or who would say something to the Cashier who just undercharged them? Those who are Truly Holy Ghost baptized will be convicted by all things that they do that is not Godly.

The relevance and meaning of baptism should be explained. If they say yes great, if no then there is an issue.
Agreed. Everyone should be water baptized if they are able to do so. It is something that a True Christian would try to do. Even as a True Christian will try to feed the hungry, cloth the naked, help the needy.

I think we agree that you have to have this working of God in us or we will not be saved when he returns. Right? Not having it shows you do not belong to him in salvation and do not have his Holy Spirit. That's why the Bible tells us to make our calling and election sure. Do something that shows you have eternal life in you and are prepared to meet Jesus when he comes back. Don't suppress the Spirit within. If it's even there to begin with. That's how we know we are ready to meet him.

Theres no fear in love, true. But that isvto understand the nature of Father through understanding Jesus. Or experiencing His great love would be a better way to say it.

When we are in love, our eyes are only for our beloved. Looking to Him, we are His Bride. And He dresses us in linen, His righteousness, of light. There's nothing of man in this wedding dress.

Its Him. Put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ. Don't feed the beast. A learning experience as we walk with Him.

I see fear in this post. Do something? Then if pushed to do it's not Holy Spirit. And it's outside of His unction. His anointing.

Oh lawd, works, works, works. What makes anyone who "works" all the time believe God loves them more? What makes them think that all of their works is under their own steam?

We are nothing and we can do nothing without God helping, allowing, strengthening us and giving us the abilities we have.

It means fear. We should fear the Lord's punishment, chastisement, discipline whatever you want to call it. Only a fool would not fear God's punishment. They show they either don't care about his punishment, or they don't believe he does that. Fear is the beginning of wisdom. Fear of God is the foundation of wisdom.
I can't agree with you on that concerning believers.

I do not think it's a slavish fear, to be frightened.
Maybe for an unbeliever who fears death and punishment. When they first read the word.

But in Jesus there is no fear, perfect love casts out fear.

With reference to a believer the fear should be that of reverance towards God.
Which of course will lead to growth.

To live in fear towards God, as you put it, does not correlate with the following.

1 John 4:17-19

17 Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 19 We love Him because He first loved us.

God does not torment his kids.

A revenant fear of God is what motivates.
A distorted view of God that frightens you if you do not comply means he is gonna smack you up and beat you into submission.
God does not do that.
Yes he disciplines, but not like that.

If only we realised that when God does discipline that it is for our own good.
Refiners fire.

Faith alone is what saves end of story.....what you and others cannot grasp are found in the following list.....
How is that not any different than the "Faith ONLY" believers? Doesn't Scriptures teach that Faith ONLY, without works, is a dead faith. Or is that verse something that the "Faith ONLY" believes need to interpret away?

a. Faith alone saves a man <-nothing added or take away
Agreed. Getting SAVED is all that is needed.

b. Salvation is a free gift based upon said faith....it cannot be earned, maintained, embellished by any work, merit, labor of man
Agreed, amen Brother. GETTING SAVED is a free gift and no amount of works can earn a person GETTING SAVED. Amen.

c. It is eternally secure based upon the power and promises of God
It is eternally secured to those who endure to the end as Scriptures plainly teach. But just because a person GETS SAVED, just because a person accepts the FREE GIFT, does not mean that person can't every possibly fall away from it. The ONLY time Salvation is eternally secured is the Day that the Books are opened and your name is found in the Book of Life and it has not been blotted out. That is the ONLY DAY that judges who is and who is NOT going to Heaven.
So you think right now you are Eternally Saved, yes?
Answer me these questions then, but i already know you won't do so, because if you did, then your eyes would be opened and you would have to change what you believe.
So you are Eternally SAVED, yes?
Is it possible for you to deny Jesus Christ?
Really? It is not possible for you to deny Jesus Christ? Really?
So you are Eternally SAVED, yes?
Is it possible that you in the future could have UNFORGIVENESS towards another person? really?
So a man kills and rapes your child, and you know for a fact you will forgive that man? Really?
Doesn't Scriptures plainly teach is you do not forgive men their trespasses then your Father in Heaven will NOT FORGIVE you of your sins? So your eternally SAVED, forgiven, but you think in the future even if you can't forgive someone for something they did, that you are still forgiven? Really?

So here is what you are suggesting. You are Eternally SAVED right now, and you can't ever possibly lose that, is that not correct?
So what you are saying is "It is not possible for you to ever hate anyone"
What you are saying is "You will forgive EVERYONE no matter what they do, always"
What you are saying is "There is NO WAY whatsoever that you will ever deny Jesus Christ, that is just not possible"
Really? Are you so blind by your false doctrine, that you can't see how those things are not logical?

Scriptures plainly teach if a person does not forgive others, then they are NOT forgiven, doesn't matter if they think they have eternal Salvation or not, their belief does not, nor ever will negate or make void other verses in the Bible.
Scriptures plainly teach if a person denies Jesus Christ, they are not going to Heaven. So then it doesn't matter if you claim with your mouth today that you have Eternal Salvation, if tomorrow you deny Jesus Christ, you are NOT going to Heaven, no matter what you claim with your mouth, or what you believe concerning Eternal Salvation.

Here are the Holy, Inspired by God Scriptures that plainly teaches:

Heb_5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

here is what men of this generation falsely interpret that verse to mean.

Heb_5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him, or not obey Him, as long as they believe in Him.

Do you see how they change Scriptures to fit into their own doctrines?. Scriptures are TRUE, and they are correct. Eternal Salvation is to them that OBEY HIM. And what does He command? Love One Another.

d. Any work, labor, fruit produced is the direct result of one who is already saved by FAITH ALONE.
Amen, this is what i have been saying all along and you have been disagreeing with. Those who are already Saved will be producing many Good Works. You are saying the exact same thing in this statement. What then, if i say the same thing, you say i am wrong, but you say the same thing, and your right?

Save the rebuttal....a self proclaimed prophet who claims that Jesus will call him by his CC name in the day of judgment to reference his CC teaching so as to use it in judgment devoids said prophet of all credibility in my mind..
Thank you Jesus that i answer to God and not to dcontroversal. i would already be stoned to death by him.

...so does believing that one does not possess salvation NOW and or that salvation can be lost or forfeit......
This altogether reveals you do not understand the race, nor the verses which teach you must endure to the END to be Saved.
You or me are not TRULY SAVED until that day the Book is opened and our name are found in it. That is the ONLY DAY that determines who is SAVED and who is not SAVED.

You claim to be SAVED today, are you saying it is not possible for you to deny Jesus Christ tomorrow? Seriously that is your thinking? You claim to be Saved today, and it is not possible for you to ever have unforgiveness in your heart, ever? Really? That is what you believe? Saved today, and it is not possible for you to ever hate anyone, really? Not possible for you to hate anyone at all, ever? Because if you did hate someone tomorrow, then Scriptures teach you are NOT SAVED.
Tell me, do you love me or hate me? Doesn't matter what you say with your mouth, what you say to me, shows what is in your heart Brother, and it seems you have nothing but malice towards me. You call me false prophet, not because any Scriptures convicts me of being false, but because as you say above "in your mind" i am false. Yet i teach nothing contrary to Scriptures, which would indeed prove me to be a false prophet.
Love you Brother, i really do. And i promise you, you have been in my prayers over the years. Tell me, have i been in yours? Why is that?

What Paul is actually saying is they never had it, not that they had lost eternal salvation.
Scriptures teach this:

Heb_5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

Woe to those who think they have Eternal Salvation which do not obey Him. Woe to them indeed, they profess with their mouths they have Eternal Salvation, but their deeds are evil and wicked.

Eternal Salvation is to them that Obey Jesus Christ.
And what does Jesus Christ COMMANDS us to do?

Love One Another. (nothing but works)

Woe to this generation which believe a false doctrine that they Eternal Salvation is secured and they can never lose it. These same do not believe what Scriptures actually say and plainly teach.

Heb_5:9 And being made perfect, He became the author of Eternal Salvation unto all them that OBEY HIM;

Woe to any person who does not understand or believe what this verse plainly teaches, they are deceived and believe lies from satan.

Why do you call Jesus "Lord" and not do what He COMMANDS you to do?
Why do you build your house on sand all the while claiming you are Eternally SAFE, and your house can NEVER be destroyed. Those who OBEY Jesus are they that build their house on rock. Those who claim to believe in Jesus but do not Love One Another are they that build their house in the name of Jesus Christ on sand.
Those who OBEY HIM belong to Him. Those who do not OBEY Him, belong to satan.
Whosoever committed sin is of the devil Scripture plainly teach that.
Your Master is to whom you obey, if you obey satan when you are tempted, then guess who your master is.

This generation altogether takes verses in the Bible and makes them void, ignores them, or interprets them away, just as long as they don't have to give up the false doctrines that they hold on to for dear life. There will be much weeping and gnashing of teeth on the Great and horrible day when Jesus shows up, and the Book of Life is opened, and your name, which you falsely believed, could never be blotted out, is blotted out of the Book of Life, because you Failed to DO what Jesus Christ your Lord and your Savior, COMMANDED you to do, which is to "Love One Another" Woe to this generation indeed. Look at all the posts you see on CC, you can tell who Loves and who does not Love. Not that i am personally pointing out anyone at all. Just merely stating a Truth, that you can see who Loves and who does not Love. God is Love, those who Love, serve God, those who don't love, Well, they don't serve God even though they may think they do.

Here is an exchange earlier, where both are right, but somehow at odds.

Your CONFUSION on works are not PART of SALVATION, however really are NOT Part of the SALVATION process, but rather it is PROOF THAT YOU LOVE GOD, after you were SAVED.

Salvation - happens at the MOMENT OR BEFORE you actually genuinely Believe; not just admit in your head that the stories about JESUS are actually TRUE. Even the Demons at GADARA had that kind of FAITH.

SALVATION is an ACT OF GOD, out of HIS GRACE AND MERCY that happens the moment you genuine Believe, repenting of your utter sinfullness, and receiving HIM as LORD, meaning Master; OR ON THE CROSS. THAT IS BEFORE YOU CAN DO ONE WORK THAT IS PLEASING TO GOD.

GRACE = Receiving from GOD that which you can NEVER Earn, nor work for; IT IS A FREE GIFT.

MERCY = Is NOT receiving from GOD, that which Every Sinner, justly deserved, ETERNITY IN THE LAKE OF FIRE.

IT IS A FREE GIFT FROM GOD.

Romans 5:8-10 (HCSB)
[SUP]8 [/SUP] But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us!
[SUP]9 [/SUP] Much more then, since we have now been declared righteous by His blood, we will be saved through Him from wrath.
[SUP]10 [/SUP] For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, ⌊then how⌋ much more, having been reconciled, will we be saved by His life!

Here is the evidence, that GOD'S LOVE in your heart, after you are SAVED, that produces the LOVE FOR GOD, that is manifested in our Obedience.

Romans 5:5 (HCSB)
[SUP]5 [/SUP] This hope will not disappoint ⌊us⌋, because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

John 14:15 (HCSB)
[SUP]15 [/SUP] “If you love Me, you will keep My commands.

1 John 4:10 (NCV) [SUP]10 [/SUP] This is what real love is: It is not our love for God; it is God’s love for us in sending his Son to be the way to take away our sins.

1 John 5:3 (HCSB)
[SUP]3 [/SUP] For this is what love for God is: to keep His commands. Now His commands are not a burden,

1 John 4:19 (NCV)
[SUP]19 [/SUP] We love because God first loved us.

Why is it so hard to understand that GOD's GRACE and MERCY, requires nothing from us?

Could it be that part of SINFUL man, wants to think he earned it, therefore they become a WAGE and not a FREE GIFT?

Romans 6:23 (NASB)
[SUP]23 [/SUP] For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 4:4-5 (HCSB)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] Now to the one who works, pay is not considered as a gift, but as something owed.
[SUP]5 [/SUP] But to the one who does not work, but believes on Him who declares the ungodly to be righteous, his faith is credited for righteousness.

DipoleDave has spoken - this should end the argument once and for all.

The question is, do any people pretend they have faith, or pretend they love God as much as they say they do? What really goes on behind closed doors?

I do know what you mean.... I really do not get that lying and slander thing.:) I never knew that agreeing with one person over another was slandering another.
If you agree (or like) what a slandering person said, then you are even as the one who slandered. If a person then calls a person a name, all those that "like" that post, have indeed called that person the same name.

IF you pay attention to those who "like" posts that belittle, put down others, mock, slander, falsely accuse, you will notice that these same people never "love", "encourage", "Strengthen", or "try to help" them either. You will know them by their fruits if they belong to God or not belong to God.

Those who Love One Another belong to God.
Those who do not Love One Another do NOT belong to God, no matter what they claim with their mouths, or what they believe is the TRUTH.

DiscipleDave, so what is the solution? I have been contemplating this since I joined, and observe in the same way, as well as the easy way some mock the seriousness of what others says; crack a joke.

When is it determined when a person is SAVED?

The Day they Get Saved? NO
The Day they Are Saved? NO
Yesterday? NO
Today? NO

But when does God determine who is SAVED and who is NOT SAVED? WHEN????
On that day when the Books are opened and your name is found in it, and it has not been blotted out. THAT is the ONLY DAY that determines if a person is SAVED.

i can claim "i am Saved" till i am blue in the face, but it is only on Judgement Day that will determine if i am SAVED or not SAVED.
Not even death is a determining factor of who is Saved or who is not Saved. A person is not determined Saved because they died a Christian. Even that dead person is not determined SAVED until the dead are raised and judged on Judgement DAY. That is the ONLY DAY that determines who is and who is NOT SAVED.
So go ahead and claim to be Saved today, go ahead and think that it is not possible for your name to be blotted out of the Book of Life, believe whatever you will, But the TRUTH is, ONLY on Judgement Day is a person TRULY SAVED or not SAVED. He that endures to the end, shall be Saved. This generation would do well to learn what that means.
We are in a race, just because we are in a race, does not mean everyone will finish that race, even though they did start that race.
The wide path and the narrow paths, are both paths that lead to the end of those paths. Just because you are on one path does not mean you can't decide to take the other path, and visa versa. The outcome of both paths, is at the end of those paths, not the journey while on those paths.
So you claim to be in the narrow and difficult path that leads to life everlasting, just because today you are on that narrow path, does not mean you can't possible choose to leave that path. The narrow Path leads to Life Everlasting. But just because you currently on that narrow path, does not mean you have Life Everlasting. You only get Life Everlasting if you endure by staying on that path to the end of the path, to the finish.
This generation does gravely error in thinking just because they are on the RIGHT PATH today, means they can never get on the wrong path, this thinking in and of itself only shows you are not on the right path.

Those who are Truly on the Right Path, are careful to remain on that path, it is the path that leads to life everlasting. To take thought that since you are on that path, you can never get off that path, only reveals one thing. You are on the wrong path.
