Wow... I am amazed this argument has gone as far as it has. Look I have nothing against the kjv but to say that it alone is the word of God and all others are not is simply getting old. I mean the entire basis of it is that it is the closest to the original text but again as has been pointed out so many times the original text was in hebrew and greek not old english and to add to the fact it wasn't even heberew as we know but ancient hebrew.

You can try to show all the evidence by other authors or by verses or by supposed proof from youtube but in the end if the translation is what makes it true and the others not then it defeats itself because even if it is close to the original text it's still not the original texts.
I mean either it's the word of God or it isn't and either it is the original wording or it's not, if salvation was treated like this then we would have an almost security in Christ, or we would have almost salvation by the blood of Jesus.

"Esaias also crieth concerning Israel:
Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved.
"

R 9:27 KJV

"For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return."

Is 10:22 KJV

So, let us talk about that "devil in details", as you were so concerned about heaven/heavens.

Easter is not pagan it is Christian.
You clearly don't study human history or the religions of man. Easter predates Christianity by at least 2000 years.

Do you not understand that Jesus celebrated Passover? Not Easter?

If you wish to understand Matthew 24 properly, stick with the King James Bible (consult other versions after that).

Also the NLT is just a paraphrase, and the NKJV has made some changes which are not beneficial.

Blain,

I believe you still have not understood the issue.
Wow... I am amazed this argument has gone as far as it has. Look I have nothing against the kjv but to say that it alone is the word of God and all others are not is simply getting old.
Let's put it this way. The KJB represents the UNCORRUPTED Word of God and modern bible versions represent the CORRUPTED Word of God. If it is "getting old" it is simply because this fundamental fact is not registering with Christians.
I mean the entire basis of it is that it is the closest to the original text but again as has been pointed out so many times the original text was in hebrew and greek not old english and to add to the fact it wasn't even hebrew as we know but ancient hebrew.
Once again the FALLACY which has been promoted by modern textual critics is that the age of the manuscript guarantees its purity. As a matter of FACT the oldest manuscripts are the MOST CORRUPT. As to "ancient Hebrew" and current Hebrew that is immaterial.
You can try to show all the evidence by other authors or by verses or by supposed proof from youtube but in the end if the translation is what makes it true and the others not then it defeats itself because even if it is close to the original text it's still not the original texts.
You are forgetting the doctrine of the DIVINE PRESERVATION of Scripture. It is true that the original manuscripts (autographs) perished long ago, but God provided for the preservation of His Word through faithful copies of copies of copies. The majority of copies represent the TRADITIONAL Hebrew and Greek texts while a minority of copies represent corruptions of the Bible. The fraud that has been perpetrated by the scholars and critics is to label the corrupt as pure, and the pure as corrupt.

This ^ I had been reading the NKJV and one day while walking around the Bible section in Ollie's, something deep inside of me kept nagging me to open up the KJV. After a few more minutes of walking around, I did and began reading it. I felt everything just "click" and I just felt so much happier and at peace. I bought it and haven't picked up another translation since.
Other versions are fine to get the lost Saved, but once they are Saved, they should always compare their version to the Word of God (KJV) They will greatly error if they do not do so.

Stick with whatever version you learn from the best. If its the KJV, use it. If its a NIV, ESV, NASB, YLT, NKJV, NLT, (H)CSB, use that.
They even have ghetto versions that call women Hoes, and Bit*hes.

Don't follow every wind of doctrine. Other versions are fine for bringing people to the Lord. But always compare your version to the Word of God the KJV.

That's the mantra you will hear from most evangelical Christians because they have been thoroughly deceived about modern Bible versions. The ones who have searched out the matter (as God expects Christians to do) will understand that a major HOAX was perpetrated on the Christian world to drive Christians away from the leading English translation which has stood for over 300 years -- the King James Bible.
400+ years. satan tried to get rid of the KJV. and God did not allow satan to succeed. So satan then realized if he can't get rid of the KJV the next best thing would be to come up with hundreds of different versions of the Bible and have people call those versions the Word of God. By doing this satan has effectively caused even more division in the Church Body, and has effectively caused people to stop reading the Word of God (KJV) Think about it, who has a Bible study in today's time. Three or more people get together and there are different versions, how is there not an argument that entails? "Well my Bible says the verse says this" while another says "Yes, but my Bible says that" And yet another says "Mine don't even have that verse" Who is the author of confusion and strife? satan is, and he is good at what he does.

Other versions can bring the lost to Jesus Christ, therefore other versions are not evil. But when you start calling those versions the "Word of God" then take away from the True Word of God the KJV. There are not many Word of God's. There is only one version of the Bible, that God has ordained, that God has protected from satan destroying, one version that so many of our Brothers and Sisters have died for, been killed for, and martyred for, and that version is the KJV.

And even if a thousand more versions pop up, the KJV will still remain and be believed to be the WORD OF GOD.

And how can you confidently avow the KJV superior? What proof do you have?

The Bishop's, Geneva, Tyndale, and Wycliffe are older than the KJV. I don't think longevity, by itself, is proof of its superiority, imo.
There is historical proof that they have tried to get rid of the KJV, having Bible burning parties in the streets. There was a time that even being caught with a page out of the KJV was death sentence. Who do you think was bent out of shape to get rid of that version? satan tried to get rid of the KJV, he failed, why did he fail? Because God preserved His Word.

Historically speaking what version of the Bible did so many of our Brothers and Sisters were killed over, died because of, and martyred, the KJV is the version that so many of them died to protect, defend.

Tell me for over 400 years, before OTHER versions popped up in the last days generation. How many people came to the Lord Jesus Christ? Can you number them? So we know for certain that the KJV SAVED SOULS for over 400 years, but this generation would rather believe NEW VERSIONS of the Bible. Does that make any since whatsoever?

New Versions are good for but one thing, and one thing only. Getting the lost to accept Jesus Christ as the Lord. It is NOT good for studying. Not good for meat of the Word, NOT good for calling it the Word of God.

Other version are, of a TRUTH, interpretations of men that are born in the last days. These people, even though, good intentions, miserably failed to understand this TRUTH, that interpretation belong to God, NOT TO MEN.

Luk 9:49 And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us. And Jesus said unto him,
Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.

Other versions are not against Jesus Christ, therefore should not be forbidden, but they are just not with Jesus Christ. There is only ONE Word of God and that is the KJV.

I would be careful how you speak of the word of God. It is not simply ink and paper it is sacred and holy and is the very heart of God himself,
The Bible itself is nothing but wood and ink. Even the KJV is but wood and ink. When the Words are written on our hearts, is when it becomes the Word of God. But when people start talking such things like, oh you can't put the Bible on the floor, then they have indeed made the Bible an idol, as if the book itself was something to be worshiped or placed on a pedestal. The Word of God is powerful, the Book is not.

it is alive and is filled with his power and his spirit and you speaking ill of his word just because it is not the version of the one you prefer is the same thing as speaking ill of him.
Just because you believe this does not make it True. speaking against a book, whether other versions, or even the KJV, is not what is against God.

It is not for you a mere man to decide God's word because it is not your word it is his. Have you ever had to use scriptures in spiritual warfare? Or have you ever had to quote a verse to give you peace in a time of great distress? I have, I spoke of this one So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
This verse alone has saved me from great distress more times than I can count and guess what? I read it from an niv bible and the power of the scriptures were more than evident.
Do you think the power came from the Book or from the Faith that was in you?
The Book holds no power at all, it is but a mere book, man-made, made of wood and ink. The power did not come from the Book, but from the Faith that you had inside of you. It does not matter if it were the NIV, the ghetto version, the KJV. it is the Faith that gives you the power of God, not any of the Books made of paper and ink.

You can speak of ill of the versions of his word but until you have seen the power and seen his spirit work in them then all your doing is accusing God's word of being bologna.
Again, the Power is not in the Book, but in the Faith of what the Book says.
A book can tell you that Jesus is the Son of God, just because a book tells you that, does not give that book power. Now when a person reads that, and then FAITH happens inside of them, and they believe that Jesus is the Son of God. It is the Faith that Saved them, NOT the book which merely informed them about Jesus Christ.

The Word is NOT powerful. Believing in what the Word says, now that is Powerful.

That verse that you have used so many times, you would still believe that in your heart, regardless if you are holding your NIV in your hand. The Power is within us, NOT in that Book.

As a personal witness to the power a single verse can have not just in spiritual warfare but also in the hearts of those who we speak the scriptures to I can attest that his word regardless if we believe it to be his word or not is very much alive and very sacred it is not a toy and it is not something we can simply pick and choose.
The Power does not come from the Book, but it comes from YOU. The Book only reveals to you what is TRUE, it is what is inside of you, that grants that belief power. Again. Power is within us, not in a book. KJV or otherwise.

Even if the kjv is close to the original text that doesn't make it the one and true word of God
What makes it the Word of God, is because satan did not create it, and satan tried to destroy it, and God protected it from satan, and God preserved it to even this day.

Who created the NIV? A group of people did. This group of people are they from the last days generation? Did this group of people take thought that what has SAVED people for over 400 years needed to be CHANGED? Updated? Corrected? Yes they did, that is why they did it. So then something that has Saved souls for hundreds of years, they thought needed to be Changed. Apparently they did not think the KJV was sufficient enough, because they felt the need to make a BETTER version, did they not?

Is the NIV evil or wicked. God forbid. The NIV has brought so many people to the Lord in the last days, and any version that can save souls can't be a bad version. Even the ghetto Bible can actually save souls and is not a bad version. But are they the Word of God? No. Did God ordain them? No. satan is the author of confusion, that is why there are hundreds of different versions, this is not of God but a tactic of satan to cause confusion within the Body. Are they the Word of God? No, they are indeed interpretations of men and what they deem the Bible to mean to them. The KJV is the Word of God.

Now if a KJV Bible sits on a TV gathering dust, it has no POWER at all, now does it. Even if a person dusts it off and reads it, and then puts it back on the TV to gather even more dust, has no POWER at all either. The Power comes from the FAITH that comes from within a person.

Is there Power in the KJV? No
Is there Power in the NIV? No
Can a person gain Faith by reading those versions? Yes, and therein lies the Power.

The NIV is a good version of the Bible, but, and if there ever arises a dispute from a verse in the NIV verses the same verse in the KJV, the KJV is to be accepted as TRUTH over that of any other version of the Bible that the last days generation has come up with.

I honestly wonder why the KJV-only types come here. It certainly isn't for open discussion; they as an aggregate are incapable of discussion on this matter (though, strangely, some display that capacity in other areas). They are highly capable in logical fallacies, unsupported assertions, conspiracy theories, slandering other believers, inability to admit error, and generally having a foul attitude toward all who disagree with them.

Not that such faults are the exclusive domain of the KJVo crowd (by any means!). However, when such behaviour is demonstrated with reasonable consistency by those who hold the same views on an issue, and for whom it seems to be a primary issue, I have to start wondering why the strong correlation.

I don't have a ghetto version, and any bible that would have hoes and bitc#es in it, ppl would know is not a reliable one to read.

You guys resort to these lows just to exalt a King James VERSION.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to go point by point on your rant, but it's basically all wrong.

The word of God IS the power, not your faith in it. The word of God is the sword of the Holy Spirit... hardly just ink and paper. There is power and truth in the word of God.... my belief or faith in it neither adds nor detracts from that power.

[SUP]12 [/SUP]For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. [SUP]13 [/SUP]And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.
