A Bible lesson in progress. Suggestions?

I started this lesson last week. This is the follow up. It's for a youth group. I thought of water and a pail...but maybe that's too much. Ideas anyone?

Tools needed to fish

“And He said unto them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Matt 4:19

Like regular fishing we need equipment.

[FONT=&quot]a. [/FONT]What makes us stand out is the rod of discipline in our lives. We don’t swear, we don’t condemn, we don’t gossip.
[FONT=&quot]b. [/FONT]We love.
[FONT=&quot]c. [/FONT]We forgive
[FONT=&quot]d. [/FONT]We let our yes be yes and our no be no.
[FONT=&quot]e. [/FONT]We do not lie.

[FONT=&quot]2. [/FONT] Light – pink sky at night, fisherman’s delight.
[FONT=&quot]a. [/FONT]“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
John 8:12
[FONT=&quot]b. [/FONT]We need vision to see the men around us who are unsaved.
[FONT=&quot]c. [/FONT]We can only see that by seeing how we are set apart.

[FONT=&quot]3. [/FONT] Bait – The Bible
[FONT=&quot]a. [/FONT]The word hidden in our hearts.
[FONT=&quot]b. [/FONT]Like a worm hidden in the ground, we may need to dig for it, but it’s there.
[FONT=&quot]c. [/FONT]We must know it well before we advise others.
[FONT=&quot]d. [/FONT]We let the Holy Spirit lead in the meantime.

[FONT=&quot]a. [/FONT]A fisherman has stories to tell. For us, it is not of the one that got away
[FONT=&quot] i. [/FONT]It is of a seed planted
[FONT=&quot] ii. [/FONT]A life redeemed
[FONT=&quot] iii. [/FONT]A work of God in our lives. We call them testimonies.

[FONT=&quot]5. [/FONT]We catch them, but don’t worry for God cleans them
[FONT=&quot]a. [/FONT]“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ” Philippians 1:6

[FONT=&quot]a. [/FONT]A fisherman spends a lot of time alone on the water.
[FONT=&quot]b. [/FONT]If it’s a Christian fisherman, it’s also time with God.
[FONT=&quot]c. [/FONT]Use that time for prayer and to prepare your testimony for that next big catch.

Only trouble is that all the "fishing" done in the Bible was with nets. (no bait used)

It has always worked for me to ask them questions first; What does fishers of men mean to you? Start with their understanding, and build from that.

Then get them to discussing in who they might have reached. Or who reached out to them. How do you reach out to others? What would you say? You can eventually talk about the points you have made.

Inspiring Post, Student...TY...

'fishing', first of all, of course is but a metaphor', Spiritual 'calling' is a whole different
'fishing-tactic'...one that consists of nothing other than Godly Love, His calling whom
He desires, by any means, even with a hook and line (no sinker)...
the 'bait' is His choice, given to those whom He uses/chooses for His Glory,..
