If it was a choice between McDonalds and starving----
I would have to give that a lot of thought.
How on earth have those people made so much money selling that trash.

We only eat at home. That way I know what I am getting and who has put his hands on it.

If you get to Missouri I have 50 acres in Mark Twain National forest with a nice 1 acre cleared grass/clover plot you can park in for a while free ;)

Nearest town about 20 plus miles and a spring fed creek, plenty of deer and turkey as well.....they like lead (cough cough)

Try VSAT aka satellite internet. A lot of kids in rural areas use it for online gaming. It's not the best for gaming due to latency issues but if you are looking to do just normal everyday stuff, it should be fine.
 
After weighting the cost and benefits, we have decided to began the final chapter of our life without internet service.
