Well my wondering is,
Did jesus christ come for the nation of isreal or did he cone for the gentiles?
because i know for a fact Jesus Christ said He came to that nation.
So my wondering is since you answer my questions is why did the aposltes in their day in age tell people that jesus christ was coming back then .
Because He lied and the apotless lied about His return how can i trust the bible if they was lying?
becauae if he lied us what is suppose to say its hard to change on phone thanks in advance.
Here is a question for you: Did Jesus ever specify the date of his return? He gave them and us signs that would identify when he was going to return, which are listed in Matt.24 and in more detail in Revelation. The generation where those signs take place is the generation that Jesus was speaking of which will signal his return. Without those signs we have no fulfillment. It is grammatically incorrect to apply "this generation" to the one from which Jesus was speaking and that because the signs that he listed are what identifies the last generation and which have not yet taken place.
In addition, once Jesus returns to end the age, that will be the end of human government and the establishment of his millennial kingdom. And following the thousand years will be the eternal state with the new heaven, new earth and new Jerusalem. All of which we have not yet seen.
So my wondering is since you answer my questions, is why did the apostles in their day in age tell people that Jesus Christ was coming back then .
And the answer is, because there was no set date or time for Jesus return, as it has always been imminent. And since we have not had any fulfillment of those signs that must take place prior to his return, then the Lord could not have yet returned. Signs first, then His return. In opposition, you have Jesus already returning but with no signs. Expositors make the same error that you are doing with following scripture:
"But I tell you truthfully, some who are standing here will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God.”
They interpret the scripture above and say "aha! This proves that Jesus came back in the time of that generation because he said that there were some standing there that would not die before they see the kingdom of God."
Yet, if they continued to read on, they would see that in referring to seeing the kingdom of God, that Jesus was speaking of them of them seeing him in his glorified state, as the rest of the context makes clear:
"About eight days after Jesus had said these things, He took Peter, John, and James, and went up on a mountain to pray. And as He was praying, the appearance of His face changed, and His clothes became radiantly white."
Peter, John and James, were those of whom Jesus was referring to when he said " there are some who were standing there who would not taste death." And the fulfillment of their seeing the kingdom of God, i.e. "the Son of man coming in his kingdom," was he was transfigured and they saw him in his glorified state.
In the same way that Isaiah and Joel prophesied that "the day of the Lord" was near, the disciples believed the same thing, for they also spoke of the day of the Lord as still being future and that because it hadn't happened yet and it still hasn't happened.
The gathering of the church and the day of the Lord, are in close proximity to each other in that, the gathering of the church takes place, which is then followed by the day of the Lord, the time of God's wrath.
"this generation" that Jesus referred to, will be the one where all of those signs take place. Without the signs we have no fulfillment. Regarding knowing when Jesus would establish his kingdom, I would remind you of what he said to his disciples who as him that very question:
"So when they came together, they asked Him, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” Jesus replied, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by His own authority."
Therefore, the disciples were not privy to the time when Christ would return, only that He would return. And regarding his return to the earth to end the age, we have a great number of signs, namely everything mentioned in Matt.24 and all of the events of Revelation, the seals, trumpets and bowl judgments and all that is written regarding the antichrist/beast and his kingdom and all of the plagues that the two witnesses will perform.
this is why I say that your claim that Jesus has already returned is completely unfounded, as we have yet to see any of these events take place.
