Is america not suppose to be here in the end times? I just didn't read about us in revelation? Or,maybe I'm not understanding correctly.
Well, considering we've been in "End Times" for close to 2000 years, AND we're Americans, I'm going with America is supposed to be in some of it.

Hard to believe, but the Bible is a book about God. Not a book about people. Not even American people.

It's a lot I'm learning, and not yet understand.
Don't!

Just don't! Look at this forum. It is full of people whose only "theology" is how and when Jesus will return. It's not that he will return, it's all about how and when. He has been pushed to the side to fulfill some kind of personal fantasy for those who spend years arguing the how and when.

He is preparing his people to spend eternity with him to glorify and worship him. He is not preparing anyone for a dystopian-fantasy future. He is preparing us to be more like him.

If you're in a church who focuses on the how and when -- get out and find a church that focuses on the Lord. Find a Bible-believing church, not a dystopian-fantasy-believing church. They aren't really churches. They're conspiracy-theory gatherings.

Trust God for life! Don't trust eschatology-as-God.

Oh ok. So for awhile.
Yeah, quite awhile.
If you believe the Lord is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6), then keep searching Gods Word and you will grow in understanding.
Beware those on this forum who tell you do this and don't do that while claiming their way is the right way, and yet provide no scriptures to back their claims. By telling you not to watch for the signs of the times; in effect they contradict scriptures, and are therefore denying Gods Word.
The Lord tells all of us to watch for signs of these end times (Matthew 24:42; Luke 21:36; and Mark 13:35-37).

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Matthew 24:42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

Luke 21:
36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Mark 13:
35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:
36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

I understand. It's just that ever since we're closer and closer it's like I want to understand what is going on. Its like I have babies and I get worried for them being in this mess of a world.

This world has always been a mess, always will be a mess.

Yes, people said they had visions America won't be here because of North Korea. I know when I was reading I didn't see where, but then again I'm not a bible scholar so a lot I'm still learning and understanding.
When I was first a believer, the "visions" were the USSR would wipe us out. Funny. No more USSR, and yet here we are.

Later on it was Iran. (Iran hostage.)

China.

Afghanistan.

Nicaragua.

I even heard the Vatican would destroy us.

Honestly, the "visions" change with the times.

It's the christian version of the gossip page.

Really? Idk it sounds scary to have my infants blown to pieces...

Yup. My generation did the same thing. And now those kids are getting to the point of having grandkids. (Hubby became a great-grandfather last year. lol)

Same world. Same mess. But is it the world's mess we should be concerned about or who we are in Christ?

I got off that roller coaster decades ago. Still have yet to cover everything I want to know about God and how to serve him better.

Hubby was married before. When he was young, he was helping his BIL clear out his grandmother's house after she died. Found her old tracts. They covered Mussolini, Hitler, Stalin, Khrushchev, JFK, and three different popes.

This whole thing is a relatively new "theology." "The rapture" was invented in the 1900s.

It is scary to think you're children might be blown to bits. That's how they teach this. They make it personal, so you do get so busy worrying about fears up there with "and Bigfoot is going to kidnap you," so you spend all your time worrying about that, instead of studying the Lord and soaking in his comfort and love.

Just another trick to lead us away from the Lord. Works better because people think it is about him. It's not. It's about us and our security.

Who do you think the he-goat in Daniel 8:5 who traverses the whole world from the West to destroy the lands of Media and Persia (Daniel 8:20), which today correspond with Iran and Iraq is?
The notable horn of the he-goat that touches not the ground to destroy Iran and Iraq is the worlds prominent air force.

Daniel 8:5 And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.

Daniel 8:
20 The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia.

Alexander the great.

in fact, the ancient historian Josephus records that when Alexander came through the Levant and would sack Jerusalem, the Levites brought him the book of Daniel and showed him this very prophecy, and he, understanding that he himself was the goat Daniel had prophesied of, and seeing that the God of Israel was true, spared the Jews, did not demand tribute for 7 years, and swore to allow them to continue keeping Torah without interference, even any of them who would join his army, and moved on towards Egypt -- even showing the same favor also to the Samaritans because of their relation to the Hebrews.

The goat is a well-known symbol of Macedonia, and Alexander's army was well-known for moving very quickly. Alexander went on to conquer the Medes & Persians, just as had been prophesied.

Your right! I don't want to take my eyes of the Lord. It's just scary to think about is all..I pray for wisdom and understanding and peace ... I know we don't live here forever I don't want too.. but I want peace and security even for my babies

one possibility is that America is one of the 'young lions of Tarshish' spoken of in Ezekiel 38:13. ((some translations say 'merchants of Tarshish' but it's literally 'young lions' -- KJV gets this right))

in Ezekiel 38 Gog & Magog ((Russia & Turkey?)) are said to swoop down into the Levant and plunder, and Tarshish & her 'young lions' complain, but don't actually intervene.
an interpretation that i've heard more than a few times is that Tarshish represents England ((because, lion, and because, trade empire)) and her 'young lions' represent the nations that sprung out of her worldwide colonization days, America being a prominent one, of course.
one can easily imagine a Russia/Turkey/Iran coalition invading and occupying Syria & Lebanon, threatening Israel ((hmm isn't that kind of almost happening right now?)) and England, the USA and their allies making speeches and voting to condemn the actions in the UN etc, but not actually mustering their armies to oppose them. raising a complaint, exactly as in Ezekiel 38:13, but wary of going to war, stopping short of intervening.

we may actually see Ezekiel 38 being fulfilled in our lifetime

Wow! You all know a lot about this.

It's a lot I'm learning, and not yet understand.

one thing you'll learn about this website is that there is a diverse crowd of members here, from all over the world, from many different backgrounds from many denominations, with varying levels of knowledge and various gifts, some with very different beliefs, especially about prophecy, and you should understand that because there are varying opinions and interpretations represented here, it is necessarily true that many of them are wrong.

don't believe what people say just because people say it. pray, study the scripture, and hold on to what's true, ready to reject what is not true.

The one who states his case first seems right,
until the other comes and examines him.

(Proverbs 18:17)

Proverbs will be a handy thing to keep in your belt, here . . .
