Make up your mind John, you are tying yourself in knots. You have been arguing for limits on translation. (Only King James) Now you are attempting to turn it around to accuse others of your own folly.
I feel like the King James Version Bible is a flawless and 100% whole and perfect translation of God. By God's Decision, Shown in proof by God's work and will , in efforts for it to be chosen to lead the English speaking people to God's absolutely pure and perfect word.

I was saved reading a modern Catholic translation in a revival where KJV wasn’t used! The fact is, the KJV was the only version available in the days of the Great Awakening and other revivals. But I bet they used Welsh Bibles in the revival in Wales.

Besides, it was not the KJV that saves people, in a revival, awakening or any other move of God. It is GOD! The Holy Spirit is the one who brought these revivals to pass. And apostasy, does abound, no doubt about. But whoever brainwashed you to believe losing a Bible translation is the reason we do not have revivals is ridiculous!

There actually are revivals going on in many parts of the world, where NO English Bible is used. Like in China, and in the Muslim world. Don’t be so America-centric! And don’t doubt God for his ability to save people with the gospel in any translation or any language.

God is sovereign, not a translation!
God used the KJV to spur on the Great Awakening.

Seems like you somehow cut this part of my last post:

”the KJV was the only version available in the days of the Great Awakening.”

So yes, the KJV was used in the Great Awakening, that is true, and actually, I beat you to it! I would never deny an historical fact like that. The catch is, you have made the KJV into the cause, when it was the Holy Spirit that used the KJV in that awakening. Just as the Holy Spirit used a Welsh translation for that revival, Arabic translations for revivals among former members of Islam, Chinese Bibles in Chinese revivals.

If there had been other versions available at the time of the Great Awakening, then they might have been used! But the KJV has had a monopoly on Bibles for a long time, till people realized that we needed a Bible in our own language, not some half dead language from 400 years ago!

Thanks OP for posting. Most of are not "version-worshipping" but instead interested in finding what is the true preserved Word of God in English that we know we can trust. There is no such thing as a plurality of truths among religions, and there can not be a plurality of truths in the Lord's Word.

Not sure if it has been posted before but for those truly questioning, Sam Gipp has put out a really easy to reference book that covers many of the questions regarding errors in the AV 1611. It's in a QA format so you can read it online https://samgipp.com/answerbook/

Where are you people coming from? What church, for example, do you attend?

If one text is God's word, then that would make all others not God's word.

what language does God speak?

is it a human language?

when the Spirit descended on the apostles and they were telling the crowds the marvelous things of God, and all the people heard it in their own native dialects -- what language for example was Peter speaking? Galilean Hebrew, right? but was it the word of God?

with your logic, since the KJV is not Galilean Hebrew, isn't the conclusion that it is definitely not the word of God?
but did Matthew speak the same dialect?

was the miracle in the ear, or on the tongue?

here's the oldest depiction of the Good Shepherd known

e20287d9-183e-43cb-8924-d55957fd29d9.jpg

i don't think it's accurate either.

if you are not asking more of it than what it claims to be though, it is wholly able to convey what it means to convey, in the same way that the avatar i snipped & reposted does. both were made by humans, with a certain contemporary and contextual audience in mind.

it doesn't claim to be a divinely perfect image. the KJV, similarly ((do any of you guys read the preface??)) does not claim to be a divinely perfect translation of God's divinely perfect word, either.

besides suspecting that a lot of the people inevitably involved in these threads don't read the KJV's original preface, i suspect that it doesn't often occur to them that Genesis 11:1-9 is FACT -- albeit a temporary fact, in my opinion, because i do not believe we will all be speaking different human languages in glory; that just doesn't compute with me. open to being convinced otherwise, though i warn ya i'm not easy to convince, it can always be done.

You people act like you have no knowledge of the Protestant Reformation, and if you do your wildly crazy for not seeing that a all powerful being wouldn't chose the BEST option to represent himself for all of English speaking humanity.

If God smacked you in the face would you recognize his actions?
- 1 Corinthians 2:13 (KJV)
- 2 Corinthians 11:3-4 (KJV)

This is something else that says false doctrine leads to hell: Maybe a little off topic
- 2 Peter 2:1-3 (KJV)

At this point I have no concern for your personal Salvation.

The protestant reformation was not perfect. So your argument´s base is invalid.

Salvation is not based on translation.
The KJV is 100% whole, pure and perfect.

There are so many Biblical scripture that I don't intend on chasing around to make something simple, beautiful for you to understand that back up these scriptures; Showing that translation can and will affect the salvation of many Christians.

- Galatians 1:6-7 (of 1:1-12) (KJV)
- 2 Corinthians 11:3-4 (KJV)

Notice how they gave credit to an english interpretation text. And Not God himself for bringing about an awakening.

I don't attend any church at the moment, but if there was one nearby, Baptist. Nevertheless I doubt those who believe the KJV is the only true Bible in English are exclusive to any particular denomination.

Well you just destroyed yourself. The KJV IS not 100 % pure and perfect. If it was, it would be about twice as large, (if you knew origional languages you would understand this, but you worship and outdated text, so I understand why you can not see) it is a word for word translation in english to the best of their ability of the people who were tasked to create it. Which also includes any and all biases they may have, as is ALL english texts.
