1 Wherefore did the heathen rage, and the nations imagine vain things?
2 The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers gathered themselves together, against the Lord, and against his Christ;
3 saying, Let us break through their bonds, and cast away their yoke from us.
4 He that dwells in the heavens shall laugh them to scorn, and the Lord shall mock them.
5 Then shall he speak to them in his anger, and trouble them in his fury.
6 But I have been made king by him on Sion his holy mountain,
7 declaring the ordinance of the Lord: the Lord said to me, You are my Son, today have I begotten you.
8 Ask of me, and I will give thee the heathen [for] your inheritance, and the ends of the earth [for] your possession.
9 You will rule them with a rod of iron; you will dash them in pieces as a potter’s vessel.
10 Now therefore understand, you kings: be instructed, all you that judge the earth.
11 Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice in him with trembling.
12 Accept correction, lest at any time the Lord be angry, and you should perish from the righteous way: whensoever his wrath shall be suddenly kindled, blessed are all they that trust in him.

I think its a mixture of:
a) David's personal life and surrounding nations wanted to be free of service to Israel, in those times, till verse 6
b) inspired parts about Jesus Christ, starting in verse 7
So it has two layers.

Christ is already in verse 2 -- it's prophetic, yet in past tense
Station themselves do kings of the earth,
And princes have been united together,
Against YHVH, and against His Messiah
Yeah, true.
Maybe it would be better to say that whole the Psalm has a layer about Jesus Christ and the first half has also David's layer...?

and at another level, it takes place in the hearts of all the 'rulers of the earth' since sin entered man, until that day He judges it.
i'm told it's called 'principle of Hebrew double-reference' -- that this is speaking of more than one thing, physical & spiritual or spread out across time, simultaneously. as His king set on His holy hill, "king" and "King"

I would say it was about His first coming and crucifixion.

Psa 2:6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
Zion the heavenly Jerusalem, a city prepared as Christ's chaste virgin bride the church. We walk by faith. We look to the unseen eternal .Not that which will go up in smoke on the last day .
We need to use the prescription(22-20) for seeing past what the eyes see so we do see more clearly .

I think it is the time of great tribulation, first you have the kings of the earth coming at Gods anointed, (his people)then in verse 5 we have God giving forth his wrath (vs 5: Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, And distress them in His deep displeasurewhere God pours his wrath on the earth, Revelations tells us the kings will cry out to God as they hide under rocks, declaring it is the great day of the Lords wrath and who can withstand it.
then in verse 6 forward, we have Christ fulfilling the David covenant, and setting up his throen on mt Zion, and ruling with a rod of Iron.
its a psalm of hope for those who wonder why God is waiting and allowing all this evil, to let them know one day God will be the avenger, and will set up his throne. but he will be patient, willing that non should perish.

What do the Illuminati and all these other entities have to do with Psalm 2? And it definitely has nothing to do with David. It is all about Christ, and it is entirely prophetic. KJVBO, if you are going to bring Scriptures to the attention of others, the least you can do is get a solid grasp on what is being revealed. The same applied to Acts 5.
This seems to be the kings in those verses. Their followers amount to 2/3 of all the people alive on the earth on the day the 7th trump sounds.

Perhaps. Rev 16:14 would be quite fitting.
For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

Acts 5: What do you get?
- What I see it is God's will that the name of Christ will stand for ever (Acts 5:39), I also see the apostles were being persecuted as said in Acts 5:41. Why? for teaching the name of Christ.
The whole point in the thread is the Christian embrace that the name of my Messiah will last for ever and is very evident in this world:

- Christians recognize Jesus as Christ
- Muslims recognize him as a Holy prophet
- Even some Jews recognize him saying it only completes their faith
That is 54% worlds religious views (Christians & Muslims).
A name that is still around and will be around for ever ,all other claims of self deity will diminish and fade.

Muslims cannot define a "holy prophet". They follow a false prophet. The Jesus of The Koran is a false Jesus unrelated to the genuine Son of God of The Bible. The Koran and Mohammed are set up in opposition to the Bible. There is nothing there that is useful for spiritual edification. It is a a religion of falsehood.
Your missing the point, the name of Christ will stand until the end of the earth, and for ever more!

1 "Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? {2} The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, {3} Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. {4} He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. {5} Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure."
This will happen (actually i believe it is happening right now) when the elites will seek to cast aside Christianity as a cultural force in the world.. The elites have used Christianity and other religions for centuries as a force to keep things under control..
I think it was Napoleon who was an atheist who told one of His anti christian subordinates who wanted to get rid of Christianity. That Christianity had value because it kept the lower classes honest and hard working.. That the lower classes needed religion to keep them in line and to lower corruption in the lower classes.. Low corruption means the people pay their taxes.. Don't quote me on that but it was the gist of the conversation, i don't remember where i read it..
But in these latter times it is clear that the elites who control the media have made Christianity a target of mocking and other types of anti-Christian propaganda.. They want to destroy the Judaeo-Christian cultural base of the western world and replace it with some kind of cultural marxism supported by a ecumenical one world religion that will be more to their liking..
Of course as we know it will all end in complete disaster.. The LORD will have them in derision.. And probably already has the Heavenly Host in fits of laughter over their vain attempts to undermine Gods will..
I believe the Last verse is speaking of the Last days wrath that will be poured out upon these people and all who follow them..
