Some common misconceptions about God;

I pictured like the expansion of the universe itself as the Lord's Good will, as the people are scattered so is his Word. And even more so his Word is Life in abundance to all the tribes and families who multiply.

And So as the Lord's people multiply more and more stars are increasing the Light to this world.

Hi decon., This brings up another topic that also needs to be considered. .........Covenants....... Job was not in a covenant nor did Job HAVE an Advocate. Job was not "sealed" He looked forward to the Advocate promised but like Adam., was still under the judgment that needed a blood sacrifice.

Job got mercy but the grace (unmerited unearned favor of God) that we have today was not yet paid for by Jesus. People looked "forward to" it. This was already stated in one of the posts above about how the earth was handed over to the devil by the first man Adam...who was made in God's image and yet who failed to obey the 1 thing God told them not to do. Adam didn't have the Holy Spirit either.

I don't have all the answers about covenants but do know that we are in the new covenant so those who have Jesus have life. Those who do not have Jesus have not life but the wrath of God abides on them because they do not believe. Because they do not have the blood of Christ for the forgiveness of sins. God is able to save to the uttermost but there IS a condition and His name is Jesus., the answer for the sin problem. All people who do not have Jesus are under God's judicial and righteous wrath for sin. Thus the need for covenants until the time Jesus came to be the perfect Lamb of God.

We are not in the old covenant of law., we do not have to follow the law to be saved because the law is no longer our school master. We who are in the new covenant...post cross., We walk in the Spirit., No longer under the law of sin and death....we have been born again., made new creations....old things have passed away behold all things have become new.... we have the Holy Spirit living in us 24/7 who has promised never to leave us.

Job had no such sacrifice yet... Job was not born again... Job looked forward to the coming Advocate.. who is Jesus. The Holy Spirit came on these men and also left these men. They had to pray that God take not His Holy Spirit from them when they sinned. These are all considerations we have to look into to see where we are today in this new covenant of grace. God cannot overlook sin. He had to send the perfect sacrifice (His Son) to save His people from their sins. And until that time., He showed a lot of mercy and also grace but nothing like today under this new and living way that Jesus brought in... grace and truth.

As with the old Testament saints., the Holy Spirit did not stay with them 24/7. They had to meet the requirements of the covenants they were in that God made for them at the time they were here on earth. Before Christ., they died and were in Abraham's bosom awaiting Jesus to come get them out so they could go before God the Father...no more veil separating them from a Holy Righteous God.

Ask yourself "why all these covenants?" I'd suggest we all take an honest view of what IS really being said here... and also what is NOT being said. Presumption is not a good path for any of us Christians to be on. I don't have all the answers but I do know what I have in this new covenant that Jesus has brought in.

So you both are just adding error to error. "First age"! Why not tell us that Atlantis was where Job came from? We don't just sit down and get the truth in one shot. It takes time to hear and hear and hear and hear just like the Bible says about faith... it comes by hearing and hearing and hearing. It becomes our "daily bread" and what we take in eventually changes our old man's views to the new man's views of Who God is and what God says through His Spirit when His Spirit points us to Jesus.

I'm willing to do this when coming here to CC. To take time and to learn. It's exciting to daily find out how much God loves us and how in Christ we are made new and have something new to learn from Him each day. His mercies are new every morning.

If those on this thread appose me for wanting to share the goodness of His love., I'm not hurt to the bone like I used to be when I came here. I've learned that none of us have it down 100% . That we all need to learn more and more about God through His Son and by His Holy Spirit.

So I can say God bless you guys and be happy that He does because of Jesus and the grace He bought and paid for all of us to have.

Was doing a word study this morning on the words, afflict, afflicted, and affliction. So far, I've only found one instance where it has to do with sickness, and that's in Job. 1 verse.

But, I did come across this and thought of you Joanie.

Being browbeaten for ones belief. Then I thought about David and Absalom. His own turned against him.

What these last two verses are saying...I will hold together all the benefits of my salvation, and drink from that cup. And I thought about Jesus saying to one of his disciples, yes you shall drink of my cup.

How many times we think this is suffering with diseases, weaknesses, minds in torment? That those things covered in the atonement is our due?

The narrow way is our suffering. The affliction of the NT is being under pressure. This will cause those things that once held us captured to fall off.

Theres another scripture i saw in Exodus 1 today, that caused me to laugh at the devil. The Israelites were greatly afflicted or browbeaten, but that just caused them to multiply. Lol

Yes Stones, you're right., decon is one of the few I responded to today because I understand why he posted what he posted. I respect his views and probably agree with most of what he has said on CC consistently these years I've been a member here and been reading him.

I was presenting to decon in that post a sort of request that we come and reason together because I don't have all the answers and I'm more than willing to discuss these issues. They MUST be discussed and that is why many of us come here on CC so often.

But when we misunderstand or misrepresent on purpose for the sake of anger., there is no understanding going to come yet. I don't see that sort of anger coming from decon even though he misunderstood my viewpoints here he didn't condemn or accuse.

I certainly believe that IN Christ we are SAFE.. SECURE...WHOLE... HEALED...RIGHTEOUS. AMEN! But outside of Christ... people don't have that guarantee or that "Guarantor". So I see that Job didn't have what we have and I'm not exactly sure as you stated here as well what Job was under as far as any covenants. I don't think he was under any just like Adam and Eve. They looked forward to their Redeemer just as Job looked forward to Him.

His promises do not depend on our meager human weaknesses and our lack of dependability. His dependability is where we need to go and He is always dependable to do what He says He will do. He will over take those weaknesses we have FOR us. Our flesh can and will over come us when we depend on it. I've learned I cannot depend on myself for anything.

I've also learned that for lack of the knowledge of the truth and believing it., many Christians (myself included) although they are sincere in their beliefs have perished or are perishing for lack of knowledge of the truth. As you can read here on this thread alone.,, many Christians are sincere in their belief that God is going to purge them., steal from them and even kill them should they not be faithful enough or please Him enough.

Or worse yet that God will teach us by whipping us into submission. Jesus is not even a factor in some of these cases as far as their understanding goes. They don't know Jesus has saved them from all condemnation and judgment.

I've discovered that God in Christ loves us into submission. He doesn't need to beat the sheep or get behind us and herd us with a whip. No., He is our Good Shepherd and He goes before the sheep., leading us. And the sheep "follow" of their own free will. No whips., no cattle prods. We are sheep., we are not cattle. The Holy Spirit never forces us to do anything.

It's not foolish or off the rails to be a willing participant in the process. Here is Psalms 23. It's not for the dead but for us living today. We won't need help in heaven., we need help now., we need wisdom., healing, leading., comfort, safety., and all those things pertaining to life and Godliness today in the here and now while we are on this pilgrim journey. (and we have it by faith and following)

Many of us Christians look at God as if He never sent Jesus. The Bible says if we want to see the Father we NEED to look at the Son. We are in the new covenant. The old is gone the new is here. We have the Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth. Many Christians are like me I've sadly found out.

I didn't even know the ministry of the Holy Spirit in my life except maybe to show me how to understand the Bible. Until only a few years ago I didn't even allow the Holy Spirit's power to flourish in my life. I was sorely lacking knowledge of the truth about the ministry of the Holy Spirit and the love and grace of God.

The Bible says God has not given us a spirit of fear but of POWER and LOVE and a SOUND MIND. Those things were already given to us when we got saved. We work out what Jesus has worked in us. The fruit will come out of us when we daily learn how to walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh. For many of us walking in the flesh is not about blatant sins like murder or cheating and stealing or adultery. We Christians are not doing that.

But what we ARE doing is walking in the flesh by living fearful lives and insisting on pulling ourselves up by our own bootstraps having a "God helps those who help themselves" kind of attitude. God helps the helpless and the needy. And when we see that., we become sheep who follow after for all they are and need.

Im questioning a lot of things right now that we have been told. I have the book of Jasher and am reading it. At one time I would be afraid to even attempt it.

Am just in the beginning of it so I can't comment on the whole of it, but so far it's the blessings of each of the 12 patriarchs of Israel upon their sons before they die.

And Levi and Judah prophesied of the Christ to come at a time when the nation of Israel refuses Him. That He would then be the King of Gentiles and bring in a different way than law. A time of 70 weeks, then Israel rises again to receive Him.

And Levi tells why he killed the tribe of the young man that raped Dinah, his sister. Can't think of his name at the moment but am sure you know the story.

Not going to debate you Ariel. Am only here for support for Joanie. I mentioned something. It's of no concern to me if one agrees or not.

This is is my personal view now. Debates and arguments are of no value. The Lord will lead us to truth and there is right timing.
