New International Version 1984 Romans 10:8-21 But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And HOW CAN THEY BELIEVE in the one of whom they have not heard? And HOW CAN THEY HEAR WITHOUT SOMEONE PREACHING TO THEM? And how can they preach UNLESS THEY ARE SENT? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our message?” Consequently, FAITH COMES FROM HEARING THE MESSAGE, and the message is heard through THE WORD OF CHRIST. But I ask: Did they not hear? Of course they did: “Their voice has gone out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.” Again I ask: Did Israel not understand? First, Moses says, “I will make you envious by those who are not a nation; I will make you angry by a nation that has no understanding.” And Isaiah boldly says, “I was found by those who did not seek me; I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me.” But concerning Israel he says, “All day long I have held out my hands to a DISOBEDIENT AND OBSTINATE PEOPLE.”

Now let me see if we are on the same page.

"IN HIS NAME" is a Hebrew expression for:

ALL THAT HE IS.

ALL THAT HE CLAIMED TO BE.

AND ALL THAT HE WILL BE.

HE was GOD incarnate; doubt that and you are not there yet.

HE and the Father are ONE, so if you doubt that LITERALLY; doubt that and you are not there yet.

HE is the ONE that GOD has put the fullness of Deity in, so if you do not believe it; doubt that and you are not there yet.

HE is the ONE that paid for the Sins of the World, so that the only Sin that cannot be paid for is Blaspheming the Spirit; doubt that and you are not there yet.

HE is the ONE that will say unto the True Believer, your Salvation was paid in full on the Cross; doubt that and you are not there yet.

HE is the ONE that PAID the Bride Price, and WILL continue to perfect us until HE COMES BACK, when we shall be like Him; doubt that and you are not there yet.

HE is the ONE that you must have a personal LOVE relationship as LORD, which means MASTER; doubt that and you are not there yet.

HE is the ONE who will expect us to Confess and Repent of our Sins; doubt that and you are not there yet.

HE is the ONE who rose from the Grave Physically, and will Return Physically for us; doubt that and you are not there yet.

Now, I could probably add a more to that LIST, that is meant by BELIEVE IN HIS NAME; but that should be enough for you go get the idea. And just so you know, Blaspheming the Spirit is when you reject that which the Holy Spirit is actively TRYING TO GET YOU TO BELIEVE ABOUT JESUS.

NOW are we on the Same Page?

Isn't it interesting that you use the bible to support your beliefs and they are inspired and glorious. But when someone else uses the same bible to support their beliefs, you relegate their beliefs to being dogma.

Do you cling to your dogma?
Just because someone post a few verses or words from scripture does not mean they are right.. If this was true, all people would be proven right. Because anyone can pick out a verse in the very large words of God to support whatever it is they want to support.

Not hardly.....I equate their TWIST, EMBELLISHMENT and OUT of CONTEXT view as DOGMA.....now...add to the convo something worthy......

Maybe I should have said...Isn't interesting that most of your posts have said little to nothing.....read thru the thread and then mouth!
Oh, I see, 'they' present a scripture that disagrees with your scriptures and because they disagree, they have twisted, and embellished and taken them out of context.

But when you present a scripture, it is pristine and perfect and only tells the truth. Is that how it is?

That is a little controversal secret of the bible. You can prove anything you wish from the bible. Then add to that little controversy the complexity of hundreds of bible's and we have a real problem.

So what is the answer?

Take th Bible in context.

Do not take words by themselves and make up silly doctrines

Interpret the Bible in a way it does not contradict itself (ie, God can not say in one place we are saved by faith, and in another we are saved by works, And if he does. We must resolve the question so their is no contradiction)

Many people come in cc and post scripture after scripture of verses. It does not mean they are ministers of God or even preachers of God. All it means is they can cut and paste

Keep bloviating......you do realize you're arguing for the following by making this ignorant stand against those who have been combating the following lies and deceit for years now in this thread and on this site....NICE to see your true colors and who you really identify with.

The cross is not enough
The imputed righteousness of Christ is a neat little trick that does not work
Christ does not keep his promises
Christ is too weak to keep us saved or finish what he started
We need to help God do what he said he would do
etc...

Hi EG...I have to admit when I was saved and started reading my bible , I used to do just that  , only because I did not have a clue about the Scriptures , I was just finding things that seemed good for my mood , but now I am growing and God is showing me how to read Scripture , how to use context , and most importantly I have come to know that it is the Holy Spirit who leads us when we read...xox...

OK, I will add something that should be interesting.

Jesus in all his recorded sayings in the bible, stresses good works. For instance:

If you love me keep my commandments. BTW, keeping his commandments are part of the sermon on the mount. They are full of good works, such as
1) be a peacemaker
2) be meek
3) hunger and thirst after righteousness
4) be merciful
5) be pure in heart
6) be willing to be persecuted for righteousness sake, and be reviled and allow all manner of evil to be spoken of you for my sake. Be exceeding glad for your willingness to endure for His sake, for your reward is in heaven.
7) ye are the salt of the earth. Salt refers to doing good works, or be cast out and trodden under foot.
8) ye are the light of the world, do not hide your light under a bushel but giveth light to the whole house. Let your light shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
9) who ever teaches men to keep the commandments will be great in the KOH.
10) except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the KOH.
11) who so is angry with their brother is in danger of the judgement. Whoever calls someone a fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
12) be reconciled to men before you offer gifts to God.
13) do not look upon a woman with lust, for thou hast committed adultery with her in your heart.
14) If your right eye offend thee, pluck out. Better tho lose one eye than your whole body perish in hell.
15) If you right hand offend thee, cut it off that the whole body not be cast into hell.
16) do not put away your wife by divorcement, except for fornication.
17) whoever smite the on thy right cheek, turn to him your left cheek also.
18) whoever take away your coat by law, give him your cloak also.
19) whoever compel thee to go a mile with him, go with him for 2 miles.
20) give to him who asketh, and lend to him that needeth.
21) Love thy neighbor and love thy enemy, do good to hate you, that ye may be the children of your Father in heaven.
22) Be ye therefore perfect, as your Father which is in heaven perfect.
23) Do your alms in secret owtherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven.
24) Pray to your Father without fanfare as the hypocrites do. For your Father knows what you need before you ask.
25) forgive men who tresspass against thee, and your heavenly Father will forgive you. If you do not fogive men, your heavenly Father will not forgive you.
26) fast not as the hypocrite fasts, but fast in secret and be cheerful and your Father shall reward thee openly.
27) where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Lay up treasures in heaven. (Treasures in heaven are good works)
28) No man can serve 2 masters, so serve (do good works) your Father which is in heaven
29) Have great faith that the Father will take care of your needs if you seek ye first the KOG and his righteousness and all these things will be added to you. (IOW do good works and be righteous and all will be OK.)
29) Judge righteously, so you will be judged righteously. Cast out the beam in your eye before you try to cast out the beam in your brothers eye.
30) give not your pearls to the swine or that which is holy to the dogs, lest they trample these underfoot.
31) give (a good work) to all that ask, for who's son would ask for bread and you would give him a stone, or ask for a fish and you give him a serpent? Give good gifts (do good works)to your children and the Father will give tood things to them who ask Him.
32) Enter in at the straight gate and the narrow way, which leads unto eternal life, and few find it.
33) be aware of false prophets, ye shall know them by their fruits. A good tree cannot bring forth bad fruit. A bad tree cannot bring forth good fruit.
34) Not everyone that does wonderful works will enter into the KOH. Some, I will say, I never knew thee.

Jesus concludes by saying that those who heareth these sayings and doeth them (do good works), I will liken them unto a wise man.

Remember James said something about hearers of the word only, compared to doers of the word. Remember doers (those who do good works) are blessed, hearers only are cursed.

So there you have it. Jesus is a big fan of good works. He is not a big fan of those that hear the word and believe and figure they are saved and don't have to lift a finger to help build the KOG. Jesus will not have you in his KOH. Your choice.

Oh, and this is just a few pages of the sermon on the mount. Jesus says a lot more about good works that you should hear and do.

And BTW, Jesus never used the word grace, once in his sayings. Now don't get me wrong. I believe that by the grace of God we are saved, but I also believe good works is a large step forward to receiving that grace.

Hi Ben...No one is disputing your above post , we all know that good works will follow , of course they will , because God wills us to do whatever according to His plan...But the OP is about being saved by grace , and not by works...xox...
