i dont know who jesus culture is, i just cant stand dcb...i think his music is commercialized junk. That said most christian music played on the radio is rather commercialized and just not good.
true. And with that, I would just like to say I cannot stand Amy Grant's new song "better than a hallelujah." Basically the song is saying God loves honest misery more than He does praise. That is downright stupid. God would rather we praise Him than complain to Him about our sorrows any day. Sadly, the song sounds pretty, so people don't take the time to actually pay attention to the lyrics.
The chorus:
"We pour out our miseries
God just hears a melody
Beautiful the mess we are
The honest cries of breaking hearts
Are better than a Hallelujah"
That is not Biblical. Paul and Silas were not pouring out their miseries in prison. They were praising God. God does not hear a melody when His children are suffering. It is not beautiful to be a mess; it is simply messy. God created us to WORSHIP Him. A Hallelujah (literally: Praise God) will always be more beautiful to God than our miserable lives.
Christian artists get on my nerves with their pretty songs that aren't Biblically sound. If you are going to make a living out of being a Christian artist, take the time to research what you're writing.
