I remember finding out my siblings weren't full blooded, but half siblings. Although it did help to explain the different last names. But still it came as a shock to me. I wasn't born yet when my parents married, my mom had three kids from a previous marriage. We were all raised using "brother" and "sister", as well as "mom" and "dad". Even my siblings refered to my dad as "dad" rather than step dad to introduce him.
 
When I was little, I believed Pentecostals rolled under the pews, played with snakes, swung on the chandeliers & were demon possessed because everybody told me that.

Then at 17 I got saved............ in a Pentecostal church.

Found out most of them back then couldn't afford chandeliers.:)

When I was little I went to an Anglican church.

Imagine my shock when I went to a Baptist church for the first time. A full blown service

JerzIlliniginiandelphia actually. Joisey is North Jersey. Jerzey is South Jersey, and I spent some time in Illinois and Virginia, before landing into Yo-yous-guys.

When I was in seventh grade, I was 5'7", then I grew up. And then I grew wider. And now I'm growing down. lol

Nope, we couldn't. And these days my church can afford them, but those overhead floodlights are much more effective. Three banks of six lights up the whole sanctuary. :cool:

I knew I was American as far back as I can remember. I just got wrong which kind of American I was for a while.

If you asked me where I lived in winter, I'd answer, "North America."

when i was little and i went to church and people said the "holy Ghost" i thought that meant folks were being possessed by a ghost....so i thought all Christian adults were akin to possessed by dead people.

i still hug trees and believe all of nature sings praises to God. Its in the Bible so its got to be true.

Until i was fourteen, I believe my mom when she told me that you would turn into an alligator if you ate laying down. I saw her eating grapes on the couch and freaked out about it. She just laughed at me.

apparently its a saying based on a Cambodian Fable (like Aesop's fables) and the moral of the lesson was to not be lazy.

however, I tended to take things a little too literally (still do some times according to some folks).

When I was very small I believed in Fairies. I used to spend hours looking for them in our garden!!

Well you were right about one part of it. A lot of people DO smoke it just because they are bored.

In fact there's a song that is currently popular, and the chorus says "I am so (deleted) bored / Nothing to do today / I guess I'll sit around and medicate..."

James Thurber was talking about his childhood idealizations. He heard about a guy who left town under a cloud and he pictured a guy walking down the road with a cloud following him around.
 
When I was little I thought most adults were fairly normal. The older I got, the more I realized how very wrong I was...
 
I thought my Dad was the tallest person in the world and I thought my Grandparents were the oldest people in the world.
 
When I was little I had an imaginary friend....................he's much older now....:rolleyes:

When I was little I thought "normal" was real. Then I grew up and experience taught me there is no such thing. lol
