nodmyheadlikeyeah, meet dothackzero
I see you both like computers and video games! I see you both think it's hot as well. Dothackzero, you like women. Nodmyheadlikeyeah, you like men!
I am seeing possibilities here!
I kid I kid
Now THIS is what I admire so much about DABEARS--he's so dang subtle that sometimes I have a very hard time deciphering what he may be implying!!!!
HA HA HA--you know I'm kidding, DB... All I can say is, if you ever try to fix me up with someone here... well... at least I won't have to guess at what's going on!!!
though to the OP you are posting in a rather biased place. If a girl is already surfing forums on a regular basis chances are she is a little bit of a geek herself. Which personally i find awesome.
I really liked Shard's observation, though I have to confess that I am in NO way a techie person at all and I am actually praying that the person God has for me will have the ability with machines, electronics, and doo-dads that I seem to have been born without.
However, I was hoping for another option in this poll that went something like, "Yes, (I'd be attracted to a computer geek) but it depends."
For instance, if I felt the only way I could speak to him is to verbally communicate my thoughts to him in binary code, that might be veering a bit too much into left field for me (or wherever the closest wireless connection may be.)
If the only way I could get him to talk to me was to send him an email and wait for a reply (I would have NO problems with it it if were a PART of how we communicated, not THE sole or primary way in which we talked), I would have to decline.
Computer guys can be great, like any other "type" of guy. I've written about this before, but my younger brother now has every (techie) guy's dream job--he designs video games for the X-Box for a living... and yes, he told me he can get me discounts. (Hmm... am wondering if I can use this as bait for any potential dates... JUST KIDDING!!!) AND, my brother never even finished his college degree (he's one calculus class short of a BA.)
When he found out he got the job, he laughed and said, in a good-natured manner, "Remember all those times Dad told me I couldn't make anything of my life by sitting around and playing video games??!!"
But, it's taken him well over 10 years at this company alone to get there, and, he's a very well-rounded person. His other interests include music, art, science, animated movies (he'll be the first in line to see a Pixar film), travel, culture, cooking, woodworking, etc.
In other words... he can talk about a lot more than just computers and that's something I'd hope for in a potential significant other as well.
