What is the living water? Religious traditions of men, man made doctrines? As I have stated, how is His message to this woman any different than His message anywhere else?

15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17
Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Is the living water not the Word's of Jesus?
what are the specific requirements Jesus states to the lady in order for her to obtain living water?

Hi garee and Jackson nice to see you again.

Some comments for your consideration below.

It does not cancel but reveals what kind of law it is.
The forth commandment is a ceremonial law used to regulate ceremonies that are used as shadows pointing to the true sabbath ,. Not a moral law to govern the morals of the whole world.
yep I agree, 4 th commandment is ceremonial, it not like do not steal, it hurt other.
How can the Sabbath be a ceremonial law? Ceremonial laws of Moses were part of the shadows pointing to Jesus for remission of SIN or outlining God's plan of salvation from sin for mankind. The Shadow laws of Moses are part of an UNFINISHED WORK of God's plan of SALVATION pointing to Jesus.

Scriptures support to show that it cannot be a ceremonial law....

Genesis 2
1,
Thus the heavens and the earth WERE FINISHED, and all the host of them.
2, And on the SEVENTH DAY GOD ENDED HIS WORK which he had made; and HE RESTED ON THE SEVENTH DAY from all his work which he had made.
3, And GOD BLESSED THE SEVENTH DAY, AND SANCTIFIED IT: BECAUSE HE HAD RESTED FROM ALL HIS WORK WHICH GOD HAD CREATED AND MADE.

Points of fact;

v2 THE SABBATH was made on the SEVENTH DAY OF the CREATION week.
v1-2 THE SABBATH was part of a FINISHED WORK OF CREATION OF ALL THINGS IN THE HEAVENS AND EARTH
v3 GOD BELSSED THE SEVENTH DAY AND MADE IT A HOLY DAY
v1-3 THE SABBATH was made BEFORE MANKIND SINNED AND BEFORE GOD'S PLAN OF SALVATION WAS GIVEN TO MANKIND (see Gen 3 which is where mankind sinned)

...............

Now let's look at the 4th Commandment before bringing it all together.

Exodus 20

8, REMEMBER, the SABBATH DAY, to KEEP IT HOLY. <Why?> Because God made it Holy for mankind and commands us to keep it as a Holy day)
9, Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work:
10, But the SEVENTH DAY IS THE SABBATH of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: <WHY>
11, For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the SEVENTH DAY: wherefore the LORD BLESSED THE SABBATH, and HALLOWED IT.

Points of fact;

v8 The commandment is to REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY TO KEEP IT A HOLY DAY
v9-10 NO WORK is to be done on the SEVENTH DAY SABBATH
v10 THIS IS GOD'S SABBATH made for mankind (Mark 2:27-28)
v8;11 THE REASON FOR THE SABBATH IS A MEMORIAL OF CREATION AND THE CREATOR

...............

Let's bring all the points of fact together from GENESIS 2:1-3 and EXODUS 20:8-11.

Points of fact GENESIS 2:1-3;

v2 THE SABBATH was made on the SEVENTH DAY OF the CREATION week.
v1-2 THE SABBATH was part of a FINISHED WORK OF CREATION OF ALL THINGS IN THE HEAVENS AND EARTH
v3 GOD BELSSED THE SEVENTH DAY AND MADE IT A HOLY DAY
v1-3 THE SABBATH was made BEFORE MANKIND SINNED AND BEFORE GOD'S PLAN OF SALVATION WAS GIVEN TO MANKIND (see Gen 3 which is where mankind sinned)

Points of fact EXODUS 20:8-11;

v8 The commandment is to REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY TO KEEP IT A HOLY DAY
v9-10 NO WORK is to be done on the SEVENTH DAY SABBATH
v10 THIS IS GOD'S SABBATH made for mankind (Mark 2:27-28)
v8;11 THE REASON FOR THE SABBATH IS A MEMORIAL OF CREATION AND THE CREATOR

God's SABBATH is the SEVENTH DAY of the CREATION WEEK. It is part of a FINISHED WORK of CREATION.

God's SABBATH was made for MANKIND BEFORE MANKIND had SINNED.

God's SABBATH was made BEFORE MANKIND SINNED meaning it CANNOT be a part of a Shadow or CEREMONIAL LAW of Moses because it is already part of the FINISHED WORK OF CREATION MADE BEFORE MANKIND SINNED and BEFORE God's plan of SALVATION was given to MANKIND.

CONCLUSION:

1. God's 4th Commandment CANNOT be a CEREMONIAL LAW because it was part of a FINISHED WORK of the creation WEEK.
2. God's 4th Commandment is a MEMORIAL (REMEMBER) of CREATION and the CREATOR.
3. God's 4th Commandment is made for MANKIND and we are commanded by GOD to keep it HOLY (no secular/civil work)
4. God's 4th Commandment is one of the ten Commandments of God's moral law and if we break it we commit SIN (Romans 7:7; James 2:8-12; 1 John 3:4)

Those who CONTINUE in UNREPENTANT SIN will NOT enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

.......................

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has led many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP Sunday as a Holy day.

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

In times of ignorance God winks at but now ,<when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).

Hello MarcR,

God's Word is not cow manure. Please bring your scriptures to prove your theory. Simply stating your words over Gods does not make God's Word disappear. The only references in relation to cow manure seem to be coming from your posts which are not supported by God's Word. No one else has been speaking of this subject but you speaking your words over Gods

SIN is the transgression or breakin gof God's Commandments (Romans 7:7; James 2:8-12; 1 John 3:4)

Those who CONTINUE in UNREPENTANT SIN will NOT enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

OF COURSE God's word is not manure but your perversion of God's Word certainly is.

Whenever, though, they turn to face God as Moses did, God removes the veil and there they are—face-to-face! They suddenly recognize that God is a living, personal presence, not a piece of chiseled stone. And when God is personally present, a living Spirit, that old, constricting legislation is recognized as obsolete. We’re free of it! All of us! Nothing between us and God, our faces shining with the brightness of his face. And so we are transfigured much like the Messiah, our lives gradually becoming brighter and more beautiful as God enters our lives and we become like him.

Simply stating your word over God's WORD does not make God's WORD disappear my friend. It is on the WORD of God we stand or fall. You have not provided anything except your own words that you put forth over God's. There is nothing hidden that shall not be revealed come judgement day. Those that hide in darkness today will not be able to hide when the light is turned on.

Indded for those who have repented of their SINS. CONFESSED and FORSAKEN THEM. Those that are still in their SINS do not know God because their SINS separate them from God.

Matthew 28 Young's Literal Translation
28 And on the eve of the sabbaths, at the dawn, toward the first of the sabbaths, came Mary the Magdalene, and the other Mary, to see the sepulchre,(at the dawn, toward the first of the new era of Sabbaths) No room for the word week.
Change the meaning of one word ( Sabbath) ..change the authors intent.
Hi garee, hope this is helpful.

Matthew 28:1
And on the eve of the sabbaths, at the dawn, toward the first of the first day of the week (sabbaths), came Mary the Magdalene, and the other Mary, to see the sepulchre

This is a correct use of the Greek word sabbatōn; σαββάτων which is used twice in this verse and translates as "Sabbath(s)" meaning is plural more than one. This scripture above is written this way for a number of reasons. Firstly the word sabbatōn; σαββάτων can have two meanings in the Greek depending on the context being use. That is it can represent the day or the intervals from one sabbath to another representing a week.

Strong's Concordance

4521. sabbaton
sabbaton: the Sabbath, i.e. the seventh day (of the week)

Original Word: σάββατον, ου, τό
Part of Speech: Noun, Neuter
Transliteration: sabbaton
Phonetic Spelling: (sab'-bat-on)
Short Definition: the Sabbath, a week
Definition: the Sabbath, or a week.

Of Hebrew origin (
shabbath); the Sabbath (i.e. Shabbath), or day of weekly repose from secular avocations (also the observance or institution itself); by extension, a se'nnight, i.e. The interval between two Sabbaths; likewise the plural in all the above applications -- sabbath (day), week.

see HEBREW
shabbath

This is the reason why all bible translations make the scripture read........

Matthew 28:1
In the end of the sabbath(s), as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week (4521: sabbaton), came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.

Just a point of interest we could leave it there and it all makes sense but just an interesting side note. In this particular week that Jesus died, coincided with the annual Jewish festivals of the Passover, Unleavened Bread, First Fruits, and Feast of Weeks which had their fulfillment in Jesus death and resurrection.

These annual festivals included Holy convocations (sabbaton) where no no ordinary work (H4399;
מְלָאכָה mᵉlāʾḵâ; employment or business for income) was allowed. In the Greek these Holy convocations also translate as sabbatōn; σαββάτων..............

Strong's Exhaustive Concordance

G4521. sabbaton
Sabbath day Of Hebrew origin (
shabbath); the Sabbath (i.e. Shabbath), or day of weekly rest from secular avocations (occupation, employment business) also the observance or institution itself; by extension, a se'nnight, i.e. The interval between two Sabbaths; likewise the plural in all the above applications -- sabbath (day), week.

The Feast of Unleavened Bread was one of these festival sabbaths (G4521. sabbaton) that could fall on any day of the week. During the time of the death of Jesus was also the time of some of the annual Jewish festivals (Passover, Feast of Unleavened bread, Feast of First fruits (resurrection). When Jesus died and rested according to the commandment it was called a "High Sabbath Day". The Jews called a Sabbath a "High Day" when one of the annual festival sabbaths (holy convocations) which could normally fall on any day of the week would fall on the 7th Day weekly Sabbath of God's commandment (John 19:31) See also
Wiki High Sabbaths

In this case the Feast of Unleavened Bread fell on the Passover and weekly Sabbath making two Sabbath(s) in one (plural), meaning God's weekly 7th Day Sabbath (sabbaton) and the annual festival sabbath of the Feast of Unleavened bread which was a Holy convocation meaning rest and no secular work was allowed (sabbaton). Hence the first part of Matthew 28:1 In the end of the sabbath(s).....

So also your quote above does not tell us that God's 7th Day Sabbath is not abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day. Sunday worship is a teaching and tradition of Man breaking the commandment of God and if we break the commandments of God to follow the teachings of man we are not following God because it is written......

Matthew 15:3-9
3, But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? 4, For God commanded, saying, Honor thy father and mother: and, He that curses father or mother, let him die the death. 5, But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou might be profited by me; 6, And honor not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. 7, Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, 8, This people draws nigh unto me with their mouth, and honors me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 9, But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Hope this is helpful and of interest.

Please use bible verses to back up what you are saying. LGF is using God's word, bible verses to back up every point he makes and many of you are saying that it's wrong, or twisted but don't give anything to back up your points. There are many shades of grey and you can say truth comes in many forms as well, but if i have to choose a bible based truth, which explanation should i follow? The explanation based on the word of God. God's word is being used by LGF to reason and a lot of you are using your own reasoning to disprove him.

Joh 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Same of LGF statement is his denominations interpretation

for example sabbath: is that civil law or ceremonial law? It is interpretation.

Hi TMS, this is a good point you bring up. I think it is ok to have an opinion but if your opinion cannot be supported by the scriptures then who should you believe? Should we follow the traditions and teachings of men over the Word of God?

The religious teachers in the days of Jesus did this and Jesus over the 5th commandment and said those who do this are not following God.

Matthew 15
3, But he answered and said to them, Why do you also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
4, For God commanded, saying, Honor your father and mother: and, He that curses father or mother, let him die the death.
5, But you say, Whoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatever you might be profited by me;
6, And honor not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have you made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.
7, You hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
8, This people draws near to me with their mouth, and honors me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
9, But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

So if we break God's Commandments by following man made traditions in the eyes of Jesus you are not following God.

Our opinions matter but if they go against the Word of God then I think this can be a sign to us that something is wrong. Some do this out of ignorance and do not know any better. Some choose to follow their own ways over God's ways.

Who should we believe? Should we follow our traditions and opinions over God's Word?

Rom 3:4 God forbid: yes, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That you might be justified in your sayings, and might overcome when you are judged.

SIN is the breaking of God's Commandments (James 2:9-11; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4)

In times of ignorance God winks at but now ,<when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).

yes, Paul was long after Plato

Paul may have been using a kind of debate tactic like he does here

1 Corinthians 15: 12. Now if Christ is preached, that he has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that "there is no resurrection of the dead"?

so Paul maybe be saying that all things are lawful, but temple prostitution isn't edifying
Yes, and it is not only temple prostitution that is not edifying.

Paul always shows both sides on the argument. He will say on the one hand, it is like this, but on the other hand this is how it is, and depending on which side of the fence you are, people will quote whatever suits their point of view. This is why we get people only quoting one or two verses, because in the subsequent verses Paul shows the right way. In this example the wrong way is to go with Plato who said "everything is permissible etc....." rather than with Paul who closes the discourse a few verses further on by saying, "So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." (1Co 10:31)

Same of LGF statement is his denominations interpretation

for example sabbath: is that civil law or ceremonial law? It is interpretation.
Hello Jackson,

The scriptures shared with you are God's Word not mine. In the OLD and NEW Covenant, God's 4th Commandment has NEVER been a ceremonial law (see POST # 6902 LINKED).

However, in the OLD Testament there were ceremonial laws attached to God's 4th Commandment (SIN offereings and annual festivals see Leviticus from the book of the Covenant).

These ceremonial laws for remission of SIN were from the Mosaic book of the Covenant. They are NOT God's 10 Commandments which were spoken by God and written by Gods own finger on two tables of stone.

God's LAW (10 Commandments) can be found in Exodos 20:3-17.

The ceremonial laws or ORDINANCES of Moses which were written in the book of the Covenant. Included the laws for remission of sin. These were examples of the shadow laws pointing to Jesus and fulfilled in him.

This is what the OP is about. Suggest you take some time to read it (CLICK ME FOR COL 2:14-17)

There is too many scriptures sent you already dear that you have not addressed or responded to. It seems you are trying very hard not to BELIEVE God's WORD.

This is your decision and not mine. I do not judge you because God's WORD will judge all of us in the last days (John 12:47-48)

SIN is the breaking of God's Commandments (James 2:9-11; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4)

Christians are not bound by ceremonial law. Since the church is not the nation of Israel, memorial festivals, such as the Feast of Weeks and Passover, do not apply. Galatians 3:23-25 explains that since Jesus has come, Christians are not required to sacrifice or circumcise. There is still debate in Protestant churches over the applicability of the Sabbath. Some say that its inclusion in the Ten Commandments gives it the weight of moral law. Others quote Colossians 2:16-17 and Romans 14:5 to explain that Jesus has fulfilled the Sabbath and become our Sabbath rest. As Romans 14:5 says, "Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind." The applicability of the Old Testament law in the life of a Christian has always related to its usefulness in loving God and others. If someone feels observing the Sabbath aids him in this, he is free to observe it.

The entire bible is about Israel and the Jews, and the coming of Jesus Christ out of the tribe of Judah until his death. The gospel first to the Jews,Israel, and the Gentiles later on when Paul came on the seen. I believe that Paul's Gospel of Jesus Christ was the Gospel for the Gentiles in that land.

Hello PS

That is what this thread is about God's 4th Commandment is not a CEREMONIAL LAW it is God's MEMORIAL MORAL LAW and one of the 10 Commandments.

God's ISRAEL however in the NEW COVENANT are those who BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's WORD. Gentiles are now grafted in.

IF you are not a part of God's ISRAEL then yo are not a part of the NEW COVENANT.

Then after the OT God came to his own people and gave them a new commandment. The commandment about loving one another is from the OT.

And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. (1Jn 3:23-24 KJV)

Believing in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ is the key to salvation, not worshipping him on Saturdays.

the scripture is God's word, but some time you change

for example colossians 2:14

[h=1]Colossians 2:14 King James Version (KJV)[/h]14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

it say Blotting out the handwriting of ordinance

you change to

blotting out the Moses handwriting of ordinance.

you also say that you not kill sabbath violator because you call to love.

it mean you accuse God call Jews to hate.

reads quite plainly & makes perfect sense to me, dunno about you guys...

When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh,
God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having
canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

Therefore

do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or
a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.

May God Himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through.
May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The One who calls you is faithful, and He will do it.
