Then that woman (I will assume she is single) is not in a church but in a mosque! LOL! She should leave and go where the men will speak up.
Indeed, but on a serious level (off topic) there is a rather dangerous 'ecumenical' movement happening in some of the bigger church denominations at present. (I am only speaking from what I am witnessing in my own country)

Oh there are plenty of churches where a man will not stand up for the truth and so should a women do what the man will not then I would say she honored her father in heaven. It is not for man to decide who should stand for the truth only God and any women who would do that even at the risk of being ridiculed and shamed because a women should teach and or speak in church reminds me very much of how the apostles preached the testimony of Jesus even though it was officially unlawful to do so by the pharisee's who also thought they knew better than God

1 Corinthians 11 is an interesting chapter. Where Paul talks about women having head coverings. He mentions in verse 5 women praying and prophesying. Women prophesying. Don't they have to speak for that?

I can't imagine a church of Bible believing christians where the men wouldn't stand up in the face of heresy. I think the argument is pure fantasy and what is described is a den of wolves in sheep clothing and not a church. She should leave because they aren't interested in the truth to begin with.

What does it mean to prophesy?

Gladly :)

Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say thou unto them that prophesy out of their own hearts, Hear ye the word of the LORD;

Ezekiel 13:2

To prophesy is to speak or declare the words of the LORD. For example. If one says that the word of God says "suffer not a woman to teach" that person Is prophesying by declaring the word of God. If that same person then says here is what Paul really meant and in that time period blah blah blah....then that is teaching about the word of God and that person has entered into dangerous territory (be it man or woman).

^ Some people believe that the gift of prophesy ceased in 90 AD.

Is that what the Bible says? To believe in the Bible and declare the word of the LORD is a true gift that keeps on giving. There is a future and perfect (not partial as in Acts) fulfillment of Joel 2:28-32.

I didn't say I believed it. But some men have tried to teach me that in the past. Including one here who gave me the date (90 AD) when I challenged him. Died out with the early "church fathers" the story goes.

Not my teaching or belief.

The beauty about prophesying in the true sense of the word is that you will never be wrong because you declared what God had said. You can't go wrong quoting the Bible (in context hopefully) but we are all subject to err greatly by teaching what the word of God says.

Adam stood by and let Eve take the forbidden fruit. That's no different in today's standards than standing and watching someone commit a crime. It was up to Adams to stop it. He didn't. Why do you think God was calling out to him after they went into hiding?

Adam was not there when Eve ate the Fruit.

Why did the serpent go to Eve and not Adam? He knew how to get to Adam and that was through the women. It is true throughout the Bible in the example of Solomon, Sampson and even Herod. Satan knows our weaknesses!

Hypothetically, what if a man in leadership starts preaching a strange message that is obviously wrong. Something hyperbolic- like Jesus faked his death and now we should all worship Mohammed instead. Should the women of the congregation remain silent too if the men don't speak up?

It seems there is a time for every purpose under heaven. I'm not going to let some man lead me into disregarding the OT.

The Bible does not specify that Acts 17:11 is for Men only??????

Exactly. Keeping in mind that Paul was not merely concocting his teachings, but was receiving them from God the Holy Spirit, it is God who tells Christians that because Eve was willingly deceived, women have to pay the price, not just here, but also in the pains of childbirth. Ellen G. white was another one who was willingly deceived, and thus many false doctrines were incorporated into the SDA church.
For the sins of Eve, future women as you say have a hard roe to hoe.........On the other hand, For the Sins of Man.....Mankind (all of us) have destiny for a "Lake of Fire" UNLESS!

LOL, you have to wonder. Some say serpent is used as a figure of speech (inasmuch as Satan was playing the role of serpent, sneaky whispering, "slippery as a snake") and what she beheld was really magnificent.

Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

Ezekiel 28:13
