Well...same old, same old....

Lies and propaganda!

You obviously have no idea that Sunday worship started way before the RCC ever existed.
It is documented in the writings of the very first church fathers, and, as I documented earlier in the New testament.

Of course this is anathema to you and so you will just dismiss it....
OK, if sunday worship is not an idea of the RCC then WHY are they promoting/enforcing it ???
I was born into that religion and for 50 years had no idea I was being lied to and deceived through being DISCOURAGED by it from reading the Bible myself. Please don't lecture me on RCC...I have lived it.
It (sunday) is not documented by the Apostles or Disciples who were ALL of them Sabbath-keepers, persecuted and killed for UNGODLY men to take over/infiltrate the early church started by them...THAT is when sunday became a problem, not to mention the false idea of a sunday resurrection.

It seems that even scripture are lies and propaganda to you...so there can be no real discussion .

LGF, you are a false accuser and of little faith.

"You don't keep everyday Holy if you did you would starve to death"

God hasn't let me starve yet.

He blesses me and tells me to seek first the kingdom of Heaven and all else will be added.

I don't worry about food or clothes or shelter because my heavenly father has always provided.

My focus is on following God every day as best as I can.

Sometimes I feel like a failure, but even then God picks me up and tells me He loves me. To just keep walking with Him and I will grow more mature and stronger in faith. It is not by my power but His that I am able to accomplish anything.

Doesn't bother me. I just read them when God gives me time...the rest of the time they appear as "This message is hidden because lgf is on your ignore list."
Indeed many in the days of Jesus and Paul the Aposle did the same thing that is why they quoted the scriptures from Isaiah that says;

Well spoke the Holy Spirit by Isaiah the prophet unto our fathers, Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing you shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing you shall see, and not perceive: For the heart of this people is stubborn, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

How will you see the way when the road is dark and narrow and let your lamp run out of oil.

.................

Sola Scriptura where are you and where did you go to?

................

SIN is the breaking of God's Commandments (James 2:9-11; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4)

Those who CONTINUE in UNREPENTANT SIN will NOT enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

................

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12).

If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has led many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if
we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP Sunday as a Holy day.

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

In times of ignorance God winks at but now ,<when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).

But God say...

GOD'S 4TH COMMANDMENT

Exodus 20
8,
Remember the SABBATH DAY, to KEEP IT HOLY. <Why?> Because God made it Holy for mankind and commands us to keep it as a Holy day)
9,
Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work:
10,
But the SEVENTH DAY IS THE SABBATH of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: <WHY>
11,
For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the SEVENTH DAY: wherefore the LORD BLESSED THE SABBATH, and HALLOWED IT.
Exodus 20:8 is indeed the first reference to the Sabbath.
And the 4th commandment was also to be the sign of the covenant between God and the Israelites.

However, neither Ariel nor myself, nor all the Christians on this forum and around the world are party to the Sinaitic covenant.
We are. however, parties to the New covenant and therefore not subject to the demands of the Sinaitic covenant...

I will give you examples of how God has lead me to spend my Saturdays and you can judge by your standards if you believe I have broken the Sabbath and this deserved to be punished by God for sinning.

My God tells me He loves me and as long as I always seem to follow Him, I have nothing to worry about.

*****_

Beginning of this month I spent Purim at the local Messianic Jewish congregation. I did start up my oven and warm up this pastry made of nuts and chocolate to share at the communal meal. Didn't clean or do laundry. Did have to drive 45 minutes to get to the meeting.

Next Sat...drive to my in-laws to get tax info because my husband had to volunteer to camp with boy scouts and wouldn't have time to. Went to a bake sale by my in-laws church for side money for Rally for life team

This Sat spent with family (we don't have it often) and I see it as a blessing from God when He says we can just rest and be together. Typically we are volunteering (camping with the boy scouts...wait Last weekend was the great day of service.., the church visited people in nursing home, did some spring cleaning, hard work, etc. We feed community workers painting the city benches breakfast.)

I still do my daily 5 practices: worship, prayer, bible reading, spiritual study and outreach.

I try my best to seek God's will, speak God's words and not my own every day of the week.

How do you keep your Sabbaths holy?

Why is there still so much noise in this thread??!
Is it still about the 10 commandments? well, the first 4 of the 10 are about loving God and the rest are about loving our neighbors. The 10 are compressed into 2 which are; Love God and love your neighbor. The two are further compressed into 1; love thy neighbor because you can not claim to love God who you do not see but hate your brother who you spend time with.

And, don't you realize that the law is everything that comes out of the mouth of the Lord? in the OT, it was given to Moses and in the NT, it is what Jesus said which is Love. Not a jot will pass away from the law until all is fulfilled - heavens and earth shall pass but not Jesus' words. It means Jesus words fulfill the OT law and become the new law.

I give you one hour to come to an agreement.

Amen. The covenant at Mount Sinai is called Hagar but people still worship her as their mother.

However her children are illegitimate and NOT HEIRS to the promise of eternal rest in God.

I keep asking because you miss the point and have the same understanding of the Sabbath the Pharisees did.

You believe it means NO WORK. And HAVINH YOUR HEAD IN THE CLOUDS.

What i,have been saying and what you don't like and ignoe is that:

You are wrong in your beliefs because THAT IS NOT HOW JESUS TELLS US TO KEEP HIS SABBATH!

yes Sabbath is about spending time with God.

HOWever it's also about SEEVICE TO GOD.

This can be done EVERY DAY, IF YOU WORK AT YOUR JOB AS IF YOU WERE WORKING FOR GOD.

It's not about having your head in the clouds. It is about being God's light in the world.
I can see what you are saying but it is not possible to have your mind fully on God and fully on your manual work demanding attention and concentration. DO a good job 'as unto the Lord of course - but you stll can not fully focus on God at the same time.
That's the reason God has chosen HIS OWN DAY so He can have our FULL attention...you are trying to change that... it's NOT FOR ME !

For me following the scriptures are key in relation to God's 4th Commandment Sabbath or anything else God required of us can only be done through Faith. Don't bother following God if it is NOT by FAITH in his WORD that works by LOVE through walking in HIS Spirit.

Scripture guides to the keeping God's Sabbath HOLY ....

GOD'S 4TH COMMANDMENT

Exodus 20
8,
Remember the SABBATH DAY, to KEEP IT HOLY. <Why?> Because God made it Holy for mankind and commands us to keep it as a Holy day)

11,
For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the SEVENTH DAY: wherefore the LORD BLESSED THE SABBATH, and HALLOWED IT.

WHAT DAY IS GOD'S SABBATH?

v10 The SEVENTH DAY of the week. (Saturday)

WHEN DOES THE SEVENTH DAY OF THE WEEK START?

Genesis 1
4,
And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5, And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

A day in God's time is the night (darkness) and the light make up one day. The DAY in God's WORD starts at SUNSET to SUNSET

ALL UNECCESSARY WORK TO BE DONE BEFORE FRIDAY SUNSET

Exodus 16
22,
And it came to pass, that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one man: and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses.
23, And he said to them, This is that which the LORD has said, To morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath to the LORD: bake that which you will bake to day, and seethe that you will seethe; and that which remains over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.

Mark 15:42,
And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath

The preparation day is the 6th day of the week. This includes preparing to stop all business and secular work as well as any domestic work; cooking, cleaning; shopping, buying and selling that can be done on any other day of the week.

IT IS LAWFUL TO DO GOOD ON THE SABBATH?

Matthew 12
5,
Or have you not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?
6, But I say to you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.
7, But if you had known what this means, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, you would not have condemned the guiltless.
8, For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day
9, And when he was departed from there, he went into their synagogue:
10,
And, behold, there was a man who had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.
11,
And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?
12,
How much then is a man better than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.

Mark 2:27, And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath

It is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.

WHAT IS LAWFUL ON GOD'S SABBATH?

1. Remembering the creator and his creation (Exod 20:8-11)
2. Rest from all unecessary work (Ecodus 20:10-11)
3. Doing good (Matt 12:12)
4. Prayer (Acts 16:13; Matt 21:13)
5. Worship the creator (Isaiah 58:13-14; Ex 34:14; 1KING 9:6; Rev 14:6-12)

Song, praise, bible study, helping others, preaching the gospel, resting, prayer, seeking God, remembering the creator and his creation. Walking in nature, going to church with like minded believers. (too many scriptures)

WHAT IS NOT LAWFUL ON GOD'S SABBATH?

WORK; all business and secular work as well as any domestic work; cooking, cleaning; shopping, buying and selling that can be done on any other day of the week and anything to do with work (Exodus 20:8-11; Ex 16:22-23; Matt 21:13).

.............

There is no purpose in FOLLOWING any of God's LAWs including the SABBATH if it is NOT done through FAITH that works by LOVE because it is ONLY as GOD writes his LAW to LOVE then we can take up our beds to follow him. LOVE is the fulfilling of GOd's LAW in those who BELIEVE (Rom 13:8-10)

Do you believe you can pray without ceasing?

Are you able to work a job and still pray?

If you can still pray, why can you not still worship God also?

I see Christ in the eyes of the people I serve.

Do you?

What I am trying to do is encourage people to focus on God ALWAYS, EVERY DAY OF THEIR LIFE, EVERY MOMENT WE BREATHE.

People say it's impossible...I say with God all things are possible.

This is a giggle!
LGF clearly interprets Ariels OP as just sitting around all day everyday doing nothing - in the pattern of the Sabbath of the Sinaitic covenant - because she says that one can keep the Sabbath every day of the week.....

Actually the Sabbath-rest of the New covenant is nothing more than communion with God!

It is NOT about compulsory cessation of labour as per the 4th commandment - far from it!
It is also about our state before God, as per Heb 4:9-10, we no longer have to labour to find God's favour!
And that labour has NOTHING to do with our occupation and job description but refers to the eternal security we have through Jesus Christ our Lord - we have no need to strive for salvation - it is already ours by grace through faith!

If you are breaking God's Commandments you are "UNDER THE LAW" not under GRACE because you have rejected the GIFT of God's dear SON. Those who CONTINUE in KNOWN UNERPENTANT SIN do not KNOW God and are not UNDER the NEW COVENANT promise of GRACE.

Ask me to provide scripture?

LGF, I work every day on whatever task God places in my heart to do. My husband works because of love for God and us...

We don't work to earn money. We work because of the love God has placed in our hearts so that we may have the resources to do the tasks God asks of us.

He has blessed us with the means, opportunity and wisdom to work, save and worship Him always.

The focus of SABBATH is not ceasing from all labors as the Pharisees believed, but only doing work that glorifies God as Jesus taught....we do God's work even on the Sabbath.

Maybe you need to read your bible and what it means to keep God's Sabbath HOLY.

GOD'S 4TH COMMANDMENT

Exodus 20
8,
Remember the SABBATH DAY, to KEEP IT HOLY. <Why?> Because God made it Holy for mankind and commands us to keep it as a Holy day)

This is the OP isnt it?

"God's Sabbath should be kept EVERY DAY"? Still waiting for the sciptures..

Sola Scriptura; Only God's WORD is true and we should BELIEVE and FOLLOW him who calls us in LOVE to LOVE another.

................

SIN is the breaking of God's Commandments (James 2:9-11; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4)

Jesus lays out the New Covenant laws on the Sermon on the Mount.

Stop worshiping at Mount Sinai and learn what Jesus taught in His Mount.

The veil remains in the heart of some.

No matter how many scriptures are given, a harden heart will continue to be disobedient and not accept that salvation is by faith in Jesus alone.

Absoutely and that is my point God's 4th Commandment says to keep God's Sabbath HOLY NO WORK is to be done on the SEVENTH DAY of the week because it is a HOLY day.

How can you keep GOd's Sabbath EVERY DAY if God's Sabbath is a HOLY DAY and NO WORK is to be done on it. God says six days you can labor and do all your work but the SEVENTH DAY is a HOLY REST day that NO WORK is to be done.

That is WHY you cannot keep God's SABBATH EVERY DAY,

GOD'S 4TH COMMANDMENT

Exodus 20
8,
Remember the SABBATH DAY, to KEEP IT HOLY. <Why?> Because God made it Holy for mankind and commands us to keep it as a Holy day)

You can worship GOD everyday and so we all should. This is different however from the 4th Commandment that is set apart by God from all the other days of the week as a HOLY DAY of rest redicated soley to the CREATOR where NO WORK is to be DONE
